Chapter 678 The Final Wanted Order

The mobile video was shot from a different angle.

In terms of orientation, it should be standing on the other side of "Patricia" and "Billy." The video captured the entire process, and the people under the bridge couldn't see it.

"Patricia" was standing behind "Billy." She first patted "Billy" on the shoulder, but Billy did not turn around. Then, when she was about to pat him a second time, "Billy" suddenly leaned to the side; his body flipped over the railing; and he fell into the river.

Throughout, "Patricia" never touched the shoulders of "Billy".

Joe seemed to realize something, and the tight wire in his mind snapped.

He had been unwilling, or perhaps reluctant to think deeply about the reality of that matter, but now it was laid bare before him.

Sebastian knew he was starting to waver, so he showed Joe the video taken during Martin's last experiment.

After watching the video, Joe's blood seemed to drain from his body in an instant. The color fading from his face, turning as white as paper.

"If it were you, when someone patted your shoulder for the first time, wouldn't you instinctively turn around? If you turned around instinctively, then the second pat wouldn't touch you.

Similarly, even if it did touch, even though Patricia and Billy were at the bridge at the time, Billy wasn't facing the river. From Patricia's angle and strength at the time, pushing a 6'2" man off the bridge wouldn't have been so easy.

However, there is no sign of a struggle or entanglement on the bridge.

I know Billy is dead, and you are very sad.

However, wouldn't it be a good thing for you if we found out that Billy is still alive! Whatever he may have done, at least it means he's still alive."

The expression on Joe's face was clearly shaken.

Sebastian continued, "Kaleb has always said you are very reasonable and fair!

I know this situation has hit you hard, but we still hope you can calmly consider the loopholes here.

You are worried about your son, and Kaleb is also concerned about his daughter.

You and Kaleb have been close for years; how can you let these events sour your relationship?

Are you willing to ruin decades of friendship over this?"

Kaleb placed his hand on Joe's shoulder and said hoarsely, "Joe, you should know that my love for Billy has never wavered.

Even on the night when the truth came out, I advised you not to take him to the police station.

In this current circumstance, I just hope you can handle it rationally and not wrongly accuse an innocent person."

Joe remained silent, looking down at his feet.

Just when everyone thought he had decided to let Patricia go, Joe suddenly looked up and gave Kaleb a fierce punch in the face.

Kaleb was hit so hard that he saw stars, his vision darkening.

Sebastian, Martin, and Ryan were all stunned for a moment, and when they reacted, Joe was preparing to strike Kaleb again.

They immediately rushed over and restrained Sebastian.

Ryan was also enraged in an instant. "We have explained everything to you clearly. How can you be so stubborn? It was clearly Billy's fault; he did something wrong. Why are you turning the tables?"

Although Joe was getting older, he was tall. At that moment, he struggled as if he had gone mad, almost breaking free from Sebastian and Martin's grasp.

"Billy is dead... dead...

You've brought me here to threaten me. After watching all your wonderful performances, are you trying to tell me that Billy staged a play to frame Patricia?

Let me tell you, it's impossible! Absolutely impossible!

Billy had no grudge against Patricia. Why would he do it? Risking his own life?

Let me tell you, if Billy is really alive, you find him for me! I'll let Patricia go immediately.

If you can't find him, I'll make Patricia pay for it!"

Joe bellowed loudly, his voice carrying for at least a dozen meters, resonating within the vicinity.

Seeing his stubbornness, Kaleb couldn't help but remark, "I've explained everything to you. Why don't you believe me?

Billy has done so many outrageous things, and you look the other way!

He clearly framed Patricia, but you refuse to let go!

Let me tell you, I absolutely won't allow you to hurt my daughter!

If you dare to harm her, I will make sure you pay the price, too."

Joe boasted with pride. "Don't forget what you said! You said you would back off as long as I came, regardless of the outcome!"

Kaleb furrowed his brows tightly, full of disappointment. "So, from the beginning to the end, you've made up your mind not to believe anything I say?"

Joe raised an eyebrow. "Yes! I came here just hoping you would keep your promise!"

With that said, Joe forcefully shook off Martin and Sebastian, who were holding onto him, straightened his clothes, and said, "Remember what you said! Otherwise... I won't let you off easily."

With that, he turned and walked away without looking back.

Kaleb was utterly disappointed, grabbing Joe’s arm. "What will it take for you to let go of my daughter?"

Joe replied without patience, "Either find Billy or pay for Billy! I'll give you a week! If you still can't find Billy, then... then I'll handle it officially..."

After saying that, he shook off Kaleb's hand and walked away without looking back.

Kaleb clenched his fists, veins popping on the back of his hand.

Ryan kicked a stone into the river in anger.

"Before, I thought Joe was so just and selfless, so righteous. I never thought he was a selfish, corrupt official who doesn't distinguish right from wrong. We've told him the truth, but he pretends not to hear."

Martin glanced at him, signaling him to stop. "It is not the time for this now! If Billy is really alive, we should find him quickly."

One week.

How is that enough?

Kaleb was about to explode with anger. "From the moment we suspected he didn't die, we've been looking for him! I've used all my connections, but Country D is so vast. If he's deliberately hiding, we won't be able to find him at all."

Kaleb had been searching for Margaret for over twenty years.

If it hadn't been for Patricia coincidentally bringing Martin to see Dr. Tate, he might never have found Margaret in his lifetime.

Kaleb was afraid it would be another twenty years of searching.

Would Patricia have to sit in prison for twenty years?

Martin looked deeply at Kaleb, his eyes slightly narrowed, showing an unprecedented determination.

"There's a way... there must be a way..."

He refused to believe that Patricia couldn't be saved.

No matter what it took, he had to save Patricia.
