Chapter 661 Patricia Arrested For Murder

Upon hearing the name "Billy," Martin and Ryan were both startled.

"Billy? How could it be Billy?"

Kaleb also turned pale at the sudden news, his body trembling slightly.

Dead!

Billy was dead!

And the murderer was Patricia.

What had happened?

How could Patricia have killed Billy?

What would happen if Joe found out?

Although Kaleb blamed Billy for nearly causing Maximilian's death for business interests and doing so many unreasonable things, he was still very sad and upset when he heard that Patricia had killed him, unable to accept it for a moment.

Seeing him silent, Martin knew he definitely couldn't accept this, so he said, "Let's talk on the way."

Kaleb and Ryan nodded, getting into the black private car waiting by the roadside.

On the way to the police station, it took Kaleb a while to calm down, slowly saying, "We don't know the specifics yet. It wasn't mentioned on the phone! But one thing is certain: Patricia intentionally murdered Billy."

Ryan pondered. "Just now, from the road surveillance footage, it indeed showed Patricia tracking Billy! Could it be that Billy discovered her, and she wanted to silence him but ended up accidentally killing him?"

As Ryan's words faded, Martin gave him a cold glance.

Ryan suddenly shivered and closed his mouth awkwardly.

Kaleb said, "Let's not panic for now. Let's wait to understand everything at the police station before we speak further."

Martin remained silent.

Kaleb and Ryan also fell silent.

The atmosphere inside the car was eerie.

In the cramped car, the air was stifling.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the police station. The three got out of the car, and Maximilian's assistant, Frank, had been waiting for a long time. The police station chief was also waiting at the entrance.

Kaleb asked, "Where is Patricia?"

The police station chief hurriedly said, "Kaleb, please follow me. I'll take you to see her!"

At that moment, Patricia was locked in a room, giving her statement.

Perhaps feeling impatient with the police, she broke down, holding her head and shouting, "I didn't kill him, I didn't kill him. How many times do I have to say it for you to believe me? Yes, I was following him all along. But I really didn't kill him. I called out to him several times, but he ignored me. I tried to reach out to him, thinking he had done something wrong and was trying to run, but he fell into the river. We had no grudge. Why would I kill him?"

Two police officers sat across from her.

The male officer was interrogating, while the female officer took notes.

With a loud slap on the table, the male officer exclaimed, "Now we're questioning you, not the other way around! The taxi driver saw everything clearly; it was you who pushed him down, and you had the driver track him. You had no grudge against him. Why did you track him? Tell us quickly, what's the beef between you two? Why did you kill him?"

Patricia, having endured numerous interrogations, was used to it. She showed no reaction to his anger and loud voice.

"I don't know. You should instead ask the driver why he's framing me!" Patricia countered.

The male officer's patience seemed to have reached its limit. His face turned grim as he impatiently said, "This is your last chance. If you don't confess, we will have to use force on you."

Startled, Patricia shivered. Before she could speak, she heard a familiar voice behind her.

"Before our lawyer arrives, we have the right to remain silent!"

Patricia was stunned upon hearing the voice. Then she turned around and saw Martin. Tears welled up in her eyes as she ran into Martin's arms.

"Martin, why are you here?" Patricia asked.

Martin gently stroked her head. "I've got everything under control. It's going to be okay."

At that moment, all of Patricia's strength crumbled, and she burst into tears. "Martin, I'm sorry I've caused trouble for you again. I'm useless, always dragging you down."

Martin smiled and softly said, "Silly girl, what nonsense are you talking about? If you didn't cause trouble, then what use would I be as a husband?"

Patricia knew Martin was trying to comfort her, and she wanted to smile along, but she just couldn't.

Billy had fallen into the river, his fate unknown.

And there were eyewitnesses confirming Patricia as the culprit.

This time, it was different from the setup with Grace, where they could recover videos to prove her innocence.

But this time...

There were no videos around.

The driver was adamant that she was the killer.

Patricia knew she was truly facing difficulties this time.

The male officer, displeased, furrowed his brow, about to explode, but when he saw the chief standing next to Martin, he seemed to have been doused with cold water, instantly quieting down.

"Chief..."

The chief shot him a look, then had four chairs brought over.

After Martin helped Patricia to her seat, he sat beside her, holding her hands tightly, silently giving her courage and warmth.

Kaleb, wearing a rare stern expression, with an air of authority, asked the chief, "What's going on exactly?"

The chief glanced at the male officer. "What's going on? Explain the details to Kaleb."

Although the male officer was dissatisfied with Martin and the others barging in, he truthfully recounted, "Two hours ago, we received a report from a taxi driver who claimed to have witnessed the suspect pushing the victim Billy off the Starlight Bridge. Currently, the police have dispatched personnel to search the river. However..."

Pausing, the officer said, "However, as you all know, the Starlight Bridge is newly constructed and not yet open to traffic! Even if the victim were alive when he fell into the water, he wouldn't have survived the swift currents! So, we estimate the victim's chances of survival to be zero."

Even though Kaleb had mentally prepared himself, he still found it hard to accept after hearing the officer's words, feeling both sad and fearful.

Kaleb was desolate, pondering the sudden loss of a virtuous soul.

He feared that the Hill family would hold Patricia accountable, and he might not even be able to protect her.

After the male officer finished, Martin looked at Patricia. "Is that how it happened?" he asked.

Patricia emotionally retorted, "No, absolutely not. I didn't push him! I made it clear, I called out to him, and he ignored me. I thought he had done something wrong and was trying to run, so I instinctively tried to grab him. Then he fell into the river. I didn't push him. Besides, he was a big man, taller than me. Even if we did have a dispute, I wouldn't be his match!"

The male officer grew angry again. "If it wasn't you, did he jump on his own then?"

Patricia also grew angry. "Who knows, what if he really jumped on his own!"

At that moment, it was a plausible scenario.

The male officer uttered a derisive chuckle. "So tell me, why would he jump? To falsely incriminate you for murder? Does anyone frame another by sacrificing their own life?"
In that instant, Patricia found herself utterly speechless under his interrogation.
Indeed, who would suggest such a notion—using one's own life to falsely accuse another.

The male officer sneered. "So, you can't say anything now? Can't find a reason?"

Martin's slender fingers gently rubbed her hand. "Don't panic. Tell me, how did things really unfold? Maybe you were too hasty and missed some crucial clues."

Kaleb tried to remain calm and composed, saying in a deep voice, "Yes! Tell us the whole story, from beginning to end."

Ryan said encouragingly, "Patricia, don't be afraid. We'll help you!"

Patricia involuntarily clenched her fists, suppressing her anxiety, and slowly began to speak—
