Chapter 981 Violet Beats Up Hannah
Hannah was shaking with rage.
She never thought Violet would stir up trouble at her part-time gig.
The whole mess with Shirley almost getting sold to human traffickers wasn't even sorted out yet, and now Violet was making things worse.
How on earth did Charles ever like someone like her?
Hearing the ruckus, the manager and the staff rushed out. The employees formed a protective circle around Hannah, while the manager stepped up and said firmly, "What's going on here? This isn't the place for your drama. Leave now, or I'll call the cops."
Violet didn't back down. She stepped forward and sneered, "What? Trying to protect the homewrecker? Are you one too? Is that why you're defending her?"
The manager, a woman in her thirties, turned red with anger. "You're talking nonsense. I don't care what your beef is; take it somewhere else! But today, you're not causing trouble here. Leave now. And by the way, you need proof to accuse someone, not just words."
Violet pulled out some photos she had ready and handed them out. "Look at these. The guy in the photos is my boyfriend, and the girl is my sister. Not only did she steal my boyfriend, but she also tricked my sister. The photos show my boyfriend with my sister here yesterday. They even went back to my boyfriend's place together. You can see all three of them going in. This bitch just left my boyfriend's house this morning. If she's not a homewrecker, then what is she?"
Everyone looked at the photos.
Sure enough, it was just like she said, and they immediately believed her.
Violet looked smugly at the manager and said, "I just want to settle the score with her today. If you keep protecting her, I'll expose you online, saying your store supports homewreckers and destroys families. Let's see if your store can survive that. Let's see which parent would dare bring their kids here to eat."
The manager saw the photos too, and her expression changed. Her gaze towards Hannah shifted as well.
In the end, she signaled the other employees to step back, and they did, not wanting to get involved anymore.
Seeing her protectors leave, Hannah couldn't be bothered to argue with Violet and pulled out her phone to call the police.
But as soon as she did, Violet slapped it out of her hand.
"What are you trying to do? Play the victim again and drive a wedge between me and my boyfriend? You shameless bitch. I'm telling you, you have to give me an explanation today, or I'll go down with you." Then she turned to the crowd and shouted, "Please help me catch this homewrecker. I need to teach her a lesson today."
When it came to catching homewreckers, women were almost always united.
To them, the most hated thing in life was a homewrecker.
Hearing her words, many women stepped forward to restrain Hannah.
A wave of panic swept over Hannah.
Hannah nervously asked, "What are you doing? Let go of me."
"We hate homewreckers like you the most. We're going to teach you a lesson today so you won't dare do it again."
"You're so young. Why be a homewrecker? If we don't teach you a lesson today, you'll only get more arrogant."
"Yeah! My husband was seduced by a homewrecker and divorced me, leaving my child without a father. I hate homewreckers."
Even those who didn't get involved looked at Hannah like she was something gross.
Hannah's eyes filled with anxiety. "I'm not a homewrecker. It's just a coincidence that I look like her. When I met my boyfriend, he was single. We're legit. She's just his ex."
Hannah was telling the truth, but to everyone else, it just sounded like the usual homewrecker excuse.
Every homewrecker said the same thing when caught.
And Violet played this to her advantage. No matter how much Hannah explained, it sounded like a homewrecker's excuse, which is why Violet was so bold.
She had Hannah cornered.
Violet smirked coldly. While Hannah was held down, she slapped her hard. "If you hadn't stolen Charles, he wouldn't have dumped me. It's all your fault, you bitch. You ruined our relationship and me."
Then Violet grabbed Hannah's hair and yanked it hard.
Hannah gasped in pain, her head forced back, her neck twisted awkwardly.
Blood smeared her forehead.
Violet hissed, "If you break up with Charles and leave now, I'll let you go today. Otherwise, I'll scar your face."
Tears welled up in Hannah's eyes.
It was winter, and Hannah's clothes were soaked. Even with the store's heating, she felt cold.
Her whole body, even her blood, felt cold.
But colder than her body were Violet's words.
Hannah said, "Violet, you and Charles ended a long time ago. He's my boyfriend now, and I won't leave him."
Hearing her response, Violet slapped her twice more.
Hannah's head spun from the blows.
"If you won't leave Charles, don't blame me for being ruthless." She pulled out a folding fruit knife from her bag and said through gritted teeth, "I'll ruin your face today. Let's see how you seduce Charles then."
Seeing she was serious, the women holding Hannah said, "Are you really going to do this?"
Violet's face twisted with rage. "Of course. She used this face to seduce my boyfriend. Only by ruining her face will my boyfriend leave her and come back to me."
"But scarring her is illegal."
Helping to hold Hannah was one thing, a small favor.
And homewreckers were universally hated, so no one would stand up for her.
But scarring was different; it was illegal, and they would be accomplices.
Violet said, "I'm not afraid. My father is Carter, and my boyfriend is Charles. They won't let me go to jail; they'll protect me. I won't just scar her face; I'll strip her naked and throw her on the street for everyone to see. Let's see if this bitch dares to stay here after that."
Hopefully, she'd be so embarrassed that she'd leave.
Then Charles would be hers forever.
"Charles? The CEO of IntelliMerge Technologies?"
If IntelliMerge Technologies was backing her, there shouldn't be any problems.
Violet squinted and said, "Yes, that's him. He's my boyfriend! This bitch targeted my boyfriend's money and had plastic surgery to look like me. She seduced him while I wasn't around. Today, I'll ruin her face and strip her naked for everyone to see."
Seeing the sharp fruit knife in Violet's hand, Hannah cried in fear. "Violet, stop twisting the truth. I naturally look like this and didn't have surgery to look like you. I didn't even know you a few months ago. You're doing everything you can to break me and Charles up. This will only make Charles hate you more."
As soon as she finished speaking, Violet grabbed her neck and squeezed hard.
