Chapter 989 Violet's Misdeeds

Wyatt got the hint and shot a look at the bodyguard.

Next thing you knew, the ads on the ordering counter switched to the store's surveillance footage.

On the screen, Hannah was at her workstation.

Out of nowhere, Violet barged in, doused Hannah with a bucket of cold water, then leaped onto the counter, grabbed Hannah's hair, and started yanking like a maniac.

Violet screamed, "You bitch, you seduced my boyfriend. Look, everyone, look at this homewrecker. She’s been messing around with my boyfriend and even spent the night at his place."

Hannah said something back, and Violet slapped her hard.

The slap echoed, loud and clear.

A red handprint instantly appeared on Hannah's face, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.

Lassie was completely floored.

She stared at the screen, eyes wide, unable to believe that the wild woman in the video was actually Violet.

Carter's face turned dark.

Austin clenched his fists, teeth grinding, barely holding himself back from strangling Violet.

He could hardly imagine how scared and helpless Hannah must have felt.

And this psycho was someone he had brought in himself.

Stella knew Hannah had been bullied, but seeing it happen was a whole different story. She was fuming.

Charles had pieced together what happened from Hannah's injuries during her check-up.

But watching Violet torment Hannah with his own eyes made his heart ache.

His hatred for Violet hit an all-time high.

"Don't you dare mention Charles' name. What right do you have? He's my boyfriend. You shameless homewrecker. You stole my boyfriend."

Violet's screeching voice in the video snapped everyone back to attention.

"See? She looks just like me. She had plastic surgery to look like me and got a job as my boyfriend's secretary to mess around with him. She's a shameless homewrecker, seducing my boyfriend for money. This place isn't even a decent store, hiring a homewrecker. Don't let your husbands or boyfriends come here, or she'll mess around with them too."

Violet kept hurling insults at Hannah and handed out a stack of photos to everyone.

Riled up by Violet, the crowd got agitated. Many women joined in, pinning Hannah to the ground.

Violet straddled Hannah, punching and kicking her.

She even pulled out a fruit knife, aiming to strip Hannah and throw her out.

When Violet's knife cut through Hannah's thermal shirt, exposing her stomach, Austin couldn't hold back any longer. He raised his hand and slapped Violet hard four times.

Violet was left dazed.

Still not satisfied, Austin grabbed Violet's neck, his face dark and menacing like a demon.

Austin was fuming. "I've cherished her so much, wouldn't even harm a single hair on her head. And you dare treat her like this? You've got some nerve!"

Only God knew how much his heart was breaking at that moment.

Every slap Violet landed on Hannah felt like it was hitting him.

Austin's grip tightened around Violet's slender neck. Her face started turning red from the lack of oxygen.

She flailed her hands in panic. "Mommy, save me."

But even Lassie, who had always defended her, was stunned after seeing the video. Her eyes were red, looking at Violet in disbelief. "Did you really do this? How could you treat Hannah like that?"

Violet kept pleading, "No, Mommy, it's not like that. Listen to me. I was just too angry and lost my mind. Mommy, save me."

Tears streamed down her cheeks, whether from crying or lack of oxygen, it was hard to tell.

Seeing her tears, Lassie finally snapped out of it and rushed over, prying Austin's fingers off one by one. "Austin, let go. She's your sister. If you keep choking her, she'll die."

Thinking that Violet still had some use, Austin slowly loosened his grip.

Violet barely had time to catch her breath when Stella stormed over, slapped her hard several times, then grabbed her hair, gritting her teeth. "You vicious woman. How could you do such a thing to another woman?"

Violet's head was yanked back, her scalp burning from the pull.

Lassie cried bitterly, seeing her daughter's face twisted in pain. Though heartbroken, she forced herself to look away.

Charles had been silent, his sharp eyes glued to the TV screen, memorizing every face that had bullied Hannah.

After a moment, he slowly raised his hand, pointing to a woman in a white turtleneck sweater with curly hair in the crowd. "Her."

Then he pointed to the woman next to her in a black coat. "Her."

He continued pointing out several other women. "Her, her, her... bring them out."

Every person he pointed to had joined Violet in bullying Hannah.

There were a total of eighteen women and two men.

Even those hiding at the back of the crowd couldn't escape his notice.

As soon as Charles pointed to the first person, Wyatt signaled the bodyguards. Each time Charles pointed to someone, they were pulled out of the crowd.

Two men and three women tried to escape through the back door but were caught and brought back, only to be pulled out again.

Seeing Violet almost strangled to death had them all terrified.

"It wasn't us. We were just trying to help. We meant well."

"Yeah, we meant well, just trying to get justice for her."

"She said that the employee was a homewrecker, stealing her boyfriend and sister, and openly going in and out of her boyfriend's house with her sister. We were just angry and wanted to help her."

"Yeah, that's right. We really meant well."

If they had known it would turn out like this, they would never have gotten involved.
