Chapter 106 Fannie, I Am Your Father

Half an hour later, Martin and Randy arrived at the hospital's emergency room.

Fannie, with a bandage wrapped around her head, was being pushed by Patricia in a wheelchair out of the emergency room, ready for a head MRI.

When Fannie saw Martin, her emotions became very agitated.

"Why are you here? I don't want to see you, go away! You're a bad person, I hate you..."

Martin didn't want to be the object of her hatred. He crouched down, attempting to touch the bandage on her head, only to be swatted away by Fannie. "Don't touch me, you bully who only targets children."

A lump formed in Martin's throat as a profound sense of bitterness enveloped him.

"Fannie, I am your father! I didn't mean to hurt you earlier, I just couldn't control my strength! I'm sorry, I hurt you."

At this moment, Fannie really despised him and didn't want to acknowledge him, intentionally asking, "You're not my father, my father would never hurt me."

Martin's eyes remained teary, feeling extreme self-blame for Fannie's injury caused by him.

"Charles is my son, and you and Charles are siblings, naturally, you are my daughter too!"

As Patricia voiced her inner thoughts, she felt an incredible calm. She had originally planned to hide Fannie forever.

Unfortunately, things never turn out the way we plan.

Since the situation was already out of control, they might as well let it unfold naturally! Considering Martin's love for the child, perhaps this wasn't such a bad thing.

Fannie was resentful about Martin hurting her and refused to forgive him, stubbornly saying, "Who told you that Charles and I share the same biological parents? We have different fathers but the same mother. He is your son, but I am not your daughter!"

As her words fell, the surroundings suddenly fell silent.

"......??"

Martin's handsome face contorted with anger as he demanded, "What did you say?"

Seeing him angry, Fannie felt slightly relieved and even felt a sense of revenge, "My father is someone Mommy met in Moscow, it's not you, stop fooling yourself."

Suddenly, Patricia appeared out of nowhere, "...?”

Randy was also shocked by this news, his eyes widened in disbelief, "Are you really my half-sister with a different father?"

Fannie didn't want to lie to him, but seeing Martin beside her, she had to continue the lie, "Yes, I'm a whole year younger than all of you."

"But you..."

"The height doesn't look like that of a three-year-old!" Randy was dumbfounded.

Pouting, Fannie confidently stated, "Is your height the same as Charles'? My dad and mom are tall, so it's not strange for me to be tall too!"

Her explanation left Randy speechless.

He and his brother were indeed taller than other kids their age, so it wasn't surprising for Fannie to be taller than her peers either.

Martin looked at Patricia, his handsome face darkened as if it could drip water, "Is what she said true?"

Patricia was angry at him for hurting Fannie and chose not to explain, using silence as her response.

Her silence, in Martin's eyes, was an indirect confirmation.

In an instant, Martin's face turned chillingly dreadful, like Yama himself walking out of the underworld.

Thinking that he was bullying Patricia, Fannie pushed him with force, "Why are you asking my mom? Don't I know who my dad is? Let me tell you, don't get carried away. You're not my dad, and you can never be my dad."

Her intense emotions caused the pain in the back of her head to flare up.

"Mommy, my head hurts again! Take me for an MRI scan quickly. I don't want to see him!"

"If Fannie doesn't want to see you, don't follow us anymore. Take Randy back to the hospital room! Or go home!" Patricia said and then pushed Fannie away.

Martin clenched his fists, his eyes turning bloodshot, and his handsome face dark and somber, his whole person filled with icy rage.

So, after divorcing him, Patricia was with another man?

And gave birth to a daughter?

He was still immersed in the joy of Charles being his son when someone poured a bucket of cold water over him, leaving his whole body freezing.

His heart felt as if it was grabbed by invisible hands, being mercilessly torn apart, the pain making it hard for him to breathe.

After going through what happened with Charles, Randy was relatively calm this time.

He held Martin's hand and comforted him softly, "Dad, don't be angry. Even though Fannie isn't your daughter, she's still my sister! In a way, she's like your daughter too."

His words made Martin's complexion even more unpleasant.

Because of this, he felt even worse and more furious.

"Let's go home!"

Coldly uttering these words, he left while holding Randy's hand.

At the payment counter, he also paid a huge medical bill for Fannie, as compensation for his mistake.

On the other side.

After the MRI scan last night, Fannie was pushed into the observation room and had an IV drip attached.

Since she was young, she had always been afraid of needles, and even before it was inserted, she cried out in terror. This time was no exception. Seeing the thin needle, she trembled in fear.

"Mommy, I'm scared. I want Mommy to give me the shot."

Patricia immediately sat on the bed and hugged her, gently patting her back to comfort her, "Don't be afraid! Bury your face in Mommy's arms, and Mommy will hold you. Be good..."

Fannie couldn't hear the rest.

As she entered, especially when the cold tourniquet was tied around her wrist, an invisible fear immediately enveloped her, causing her scalp to tingle.

"Mummy, it hurts, it hurts..."

The nurse had seen people afraid of injections before, but never someone so terrified. Unable to hold back, she chuckled and asked, "Little girl, the needle hasn't even gone in yet, how can it hurt?"

Fannie wailed, "The tourniquet is too tight, it hurts too..."

The nurse was left confused. Patricia, noticing her unease, quickly explained, "I'm sorry, she's just scared and gets faint at the sight of blood! It's alright, I'll hold her, and you don't need to worry, just do what you usually do."

The nurse nodded and skillfully located the vein, sterilized it, and prepared to insert the needle. As Fannie sensed the needle drawing near, she screamed in fear, causing her body to tremble even more.

The nurse's hand trembled, nearly misplacing the needle.

Patricia immediately held Fannie close and signaled to the nurse with her eyes.

The nurse immediately composed herself, cleared her mind, focused on the vein, and deftly inserted the needle.

"Ah... it hurts so much..."

With Fannie's sharp cry, the needle successfully went in.

Both the nurse and Patricia breathed a sigh of relief and quickly secured the needle.

Even after the needle was in place, Fannie continued to cry heavily, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably with frustration and grievance.

Patricia cupped her little face, wiping away her tears, and said with heartache, "Be good, we just need to get the injection today! If the MRI shows nothing, we can leave the hospital after three days of observation."

Fannie nodded, her eyes brimming with tears, and said with a sense of injustice, " It's all Daddy's fault. I hate him and never want to see him again."

Patricia sighed and helplessly asked, "Are you planning to never tell Daddy the truth?"

Pursing her lips, Fannie replied, "Not telling him, Charles won't be able to recognize him. I won't recognize him either! He caused Mummy so much suffering, caused people to call me and my brother wild kids since childhood, and now he hurt me. I will never forgive him. If I have to call him Daddy, I'd rather die."

Patricia didn't expect Fannie to hold such a deep grudge against Martin, and couldn't help but be shocked. "Fannie, do you really hate him that much?"

Fannie nodded forcefully, "Hate, very much! Mummy, please don't make me recognize him, I don't want such a father."

Patricia looked at her with a heartache and silently hugged her.

"Alright, Mummy promises you! We won't recognize him if you don't want to. When you decide to recognize him one day, we'll do it then."

Fannie didn't say anything more, but her resentment towards Martin grew stronger in her heart.
