Chapter 795: Kidnapping
Charles had left. After dropping Violet at school, he visited the Sunset Bay office and caught a 2 p.m. flight. Violet spent the day in a daze, eyes red and heart heavy.
That evening, after her night classes, she lay on her desk, not wanting to leave. Suddenly, a pair of large hands rested on her head. Thinking it was Charles, she turned around excitedly, but her face fell when she saw it was Austin.
Violet had no interest in dealing with Austin. She packed her books listlessly and walked out like a ghost. Austin frowned, caught up to her, grabbed her bag, and slung it over his shoulder.
"He may have left, but you still have me!" Austin said.
Violet didn't seem to hear him and walked towards the school gate in a daze. Austin followed silently, eyes fixed on her back. As he stared, his heart pounded uncontrollably, 'Could it be that he had really fallen in love with his own sister, Violet? No! Impossible! How could he love Violet? That would be perverse!' Austin thought.
Unconsciously, they walked out of the school gate. Violet continued ahead, and Austin followed at a leisurely pace. Not far from the gate, Austin saw a woman across the street. He shuddered, fearing she might harm Violet, and quickly said, "Violet, go back to the car first. I need to buy something."
Violet, lost in thoughts of Charles, barely heard him and lazily responded, continuing to the parking lot. Austin looked around to make sure no one was watching, then ran across the street, pulling the woman into a hidden spot. "Didn't I warn you not to appear in front of me again?" he said sternly.
The woman tried to appease him, "Son, I'm here to help you."
Austin, agitated, said, "I told you, I'm not your son. Stop calling me that. My mother is Lassie, my father is Carter. I don't know you at all."
The woman wasn't angered by his eagerness to sever ties, "No matter how much you deny it, you are my son! Son, don't you like Violet? I said I could help you get her, and I can!"
A sense of foreboding rose in Austin's heart. He was suddenly vigilant, "What are you planning to do to Violet? I warn you, don't hurt her again, or I won't be polite."
The woman didn't take his threat seriously and said mysteriously, "Have you ever heard that a hero saved a beauty and the beauty fell in love with the hero? Your father saved me once, and that's why I hopelessly fell in love with him."
Austin looked at her blankly, realizing she was mad. She was a complete lunatic. Seeing he was calm, the woman continued, "All women love heroes! If she's in danger and you save her, she will definitely fall in love with you."
Austin gritted his teeth, "Shut up! My affairs are none of your business!"
The woman suddenly laughed, her shoulders shaking, "I'm your mother. If I don't care about you, who will? Trust me, that girl will definitely fall in love with you, definitely..."
Just as she finished speaking, a scream came from the parking lot, "Austin, help! Austin!"
The woman laughed even more triumphantly. Austin knew something was wrong. He dropped the bag and sprinted towards the parking lot.
At the entrance, he saw two men. One covered Violet's mouth with a towel, holding her upper body, while the other lifted her legs, dragging her towards a van.
"Violet!" Austin shouted.
Violet struggled to look his way. When she saw him, hope ignited in her eyes, and she fought even harder.
Austin felt a surge of anger and rushed forward like a madman.
"Let go of my sister! Where are you taking her?" he yelled.
But he was outnumbered. Five more men emerged from the van. Despite his training, he was quickly overpowered and pinned to the ground.
Seeing him beaten, Violet was terrified, tears streaming down her face. The man holding her got annoyed and slapped her hard. A clear handprint appeared on her pale skin.
"You bastard! How dare you hit her! I'll kill you!" Austin roared.
Seeing Violet hit, Austin's eyes turned blood-red. He broke free and rushed towards her again, but it was too late. Violet was shoved into the van, which sped away.
"Violet!" Austin shouted.
He chased the van madly, shouting her name. Passersby noticed but didn't dare to help.
No matter how hard he ran, he couldn't catch the van. It soon disappeared. Desperate, he fumbled for his phone to call Carter, but the woman's voice appeared behind him.
"Violet must be very moved seeing you risk your life to save her! In a few hours, I'll give you the address. Go alone to rescue her! She'll see you risking everything for her and fall in love with you."
Rage surged in his chest. Austin grabbed her by the collar, lifting her off the ground.
"Are you insane? She's only thirteen! Do you know how scared she was? Tell me where she is, or I'll kill you!" he shouted.
The woman just laughed.
"The more scared she is, the more she'll love you when you rescue her! Trust me, after tonight, she'll fall in love with you. You'll win her heart completely," she said.
Then, Austin would become Carter's son-in-law, making revenge easier. Hearing her words, Austin hesitated, his resolve wavering. Sensing this, the woman said, "Trust me, I won't hurt her! I'm doing this to make her believe it's real."
Seeing his injuries, she tenderly touched his face.
"To make it convincing, I had to let them hurt you! It must hurt, right?"
Disgusted, Austin swatted her hand away and released her collar. He turned away, fists clenched, his reason wavering. The temptation of making Violet fall in love with him was strong. His resolve began to falter.
Just this once.
Only this once.
Once Violet loved him, he would never do this again.
Yes! This is the way!
