Chapter 790: I Am Your Biological Mother

As Austin neared the parking lot, a shadow suddenly grabbed his wrist from behind.

"Austin, my son!"

Austin stopped and turned to see a frail woman holding him.

She was extremely thin, almost skeletal, with skin stretched tight over her bones. Half her hair was grey and neatly tied up. She wore a faded T-shirt and jeans, and a long scar ran down the left side of her face, from her eyebrow to her mouth. Despite this, she was strikingly beautiful. Though gaunt with sunken cheeks and lifeless eyes, her features hinted she was once stunning.

Austin frowned in disgust at the hand gripping his wrist. He pulled away and said, "You've got the wrong person!"

He turned to leave, but the woman grabbed his wrist again.

"I haven't got the wrong person. You are my son. I am your biological mother!"

Austin smirked coldly. "How much do you want?" he asked, pulling out his wallet and handing her a few dollar bills. "This is all I have. You can earn a living without resorting to deceit. Consider this charity."

The woman's eyes reddened as she looked at the money, her body trembling. She angrily snatched the bills and threw them to the ground.

"I am your biological mother. Fourteen years ago, I left you at the gate of Rose Garden Manor for Carter and Lassie to adopt. It was snowing heavily that day."

Austin didn't believe her. As the sole heir of the Moore family, he had encountered many scammers.

Seeing his scornful expression, the woman knew he didn't believe her. "Whether you believe it or not, I am your biological mother!" she said, pulling a strand of hair from her head and holding it out to Austin. "You can take my hair for a DNA test."

Austin didn't take it. "So what?" he asked.

"What?" the woman was puzzled.

"If anyone could just come up to me claiming to be my biological mother and ask for a DNA test, I'd be busy all the time," Austin mocked.

The woman was confused.

Austin's eyes darkened, a cold glint flashing in them. "Don't ever let me see you again, or I won't be so kind!" he warned, pulling out a handkerchief and meticulously wiping the places she had touched before throwing it to the ground in disgust. "My father is Carter, and my mother is Lassie! You're just a fraud!"

He turned and continued walking towards the parking lot.

The woman, unwilling to give up, chased after him. "I really am your mother! All these years, I've been secretly watching you. I know what you like to eat, what kind of look you prefer, and I know you're an excellent student at school. I..."

Annoyed, Austin stopped abruptly and warned through gritted teeth, "Even if you were, I would never acknowledge you! From the moment you left me at the Moore family gate, you lost me as a son forever."

Of course, he didn't believe her at all.

The woman, relentless, began to shout.

"You heartless wretch! I carried you for ten months and gave birth to you, and now you refuse to acknowledge me! Instead, you recognize thieves as your parents! Do you know that Carter, Martin, and Ryan killed your biological father? I left you at the Moore family gate so you could avenge him. You..."

Her rant was cut off by the sound of the car door closing. She didn't even get a good look at Austin before the Moore family's car drove away.

The woman trembled with rage. The fury inside her had no outlet, like thousands of ants crawling through her veins, making her feel unbearably itchy and agitated. Ever since Austin started middle school, she had been secretly following him, looking for a chance to reunite and plan their revenge together. But Austin was always with Violet, making it impossible for her to find an opportunity.

Today, she finally saw Austin alone, but things didn't go as planned. He didn't believe her and looked at her with disdain. She was his mother, who had carried him for ten months and given birth to him. How could he look at her like that?

The black sedan drove steadily down the road. Austin sat in the back, half his body shrouded in darkness, making it impossible to discern his true expression. Biological mother? Recognize thieves as parents? Avenge his father? This was the most ridiculous joke in the world.

Meanwhile, after school, Charles took Violet to eat. He knew she liked Mexican food and booked a table at the best Mexican restaurant. Violet, stressed from studying, hadn't had time to enjoy Mexican food in a while. Now, eating with someone she liked, her appetite surged, and she ate heartily. Charles took care of serving her food and wiping the small beads of sweat from her nose or when her mouth got dirty.

After the meal, Charles, worried she might feel uncomfortable from overeating, took her for a walk to help digest the food.

"Why did you let Austin do your homework?" he asked.

Violet pouted, feeling wronged. "Because I don't understand it! Especially the eighth-grade geometry. It makes my head spin! If my brother didn't do it for me, I'd probably have to stay at school all night to finish it."

Every time she didn't understand a problem, Austin would do it for her instead of explaining it, leading to a vicious cycle where she fell further behind and understood less and less.

Charles smiled gently. "Geometry isn't that hard. Once you grasp the basics, it becomes quite simple. When we get home tomorrow, I'll teach you some problem-solving techniques."

Violet's eyes lit up with a smile. "Sure! Elementary math was so hard, but after looking at the notes you made for me, it seemed so easy, and I learned it right away! I'm sure I can do it this time too!"

Charles couldn't help but ruffle her hair. "Ask me directly if you don't understand anything in the future!"

Violet nodded vigorously. "Okay! From now on, if I don't understand anything, I'll ask Charles directly!"

The Mexican restaurant was far from Sunshine Manor. After walking for a while and feeling less full, Charles called the driver to pick them up and take them home. By the time they got home, it was already 11:30 p.m. After showering and going to bed, it was midnight. Violet, in a good mood, fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed, smiling all night.

The next day, Austin got up early to go to Sunshine Manor to pick up Violet for school. As soon as the car pulled out of the driveway, he saw the woman standing under a tree not far away. His eyes narrowed sharply, and a chilling murderous intent flashed deep within them.
