Chapter 1105 House Arrest, Continued Investigation

They bombarded the doctor with a barrage of questions, but fortunately, the doctor had seen countless major situations and remained calm, answering their questions without losing his composure.

"Luckily, the blood arrived in time, temporarily stabilizing her massive bleeding! However, because she received blood from a direct relative, she had an adverse reaction! Additionally, she hit the back of her head on a hard object, causing a deep wound."

"Although she has temporarily passed the critical stage, she needs to be sent to the ICU for a few days of observation! As long as she doesn't show symptoms like vomiting or shock in the next few days, she should be fine."

Stella asked worriedly, "Will she become a vegetable? Or fall into a coma?"

Charles had become a vegetable due to a car accident. Fortunately, they didn't give up on him, and Charles had a strong will to live, so he eventually woke up.

Later, Hannah's biological father, Carter, fell down the stairs and also injured the back of his head. Despite all the tests showing his physical indicators were normal, he never woke up.

She was very afraid that Hannah would end up the same way. She looked at the doctor with hopeful eyes, but after hearing the doctor's words, all her hope vanished.

"I can't answer you right now! The patient is indeed very seriously injured. If you hadn't managed to get the plasma in time, she might not have made it out of the operating room. As for her recovery or any sudden complications, it's all uncertain. However, as doctors, we will do our utmost to save her, no matter what happens."

The doctor's ambiguous words did not reassure them; instead, they made them even more anxious. All doctors were like this, never daring to give a definite answer.

Stella, unwilling to give up, wanted to ask the doctor more questions when Hannah was wheeled out of the emergency room.

She was covered in tubes, with a ventilator over her mouth and nose, a white bandage wrapped around her forehead, and her face looked extremely pale due to excessive blood loss.

Seeing her like this, Stella couldn't hold back and started crying. Lassie felt weak and almost fainted, but Patricia caught her from behind.

Charles' eyes were red, and he held Hannah's hand with trembling hands, tears welling up but not falling.

"Hannah, I will definitely avenge you! I will find the person who hurt you. You have to hold on; we haven't had our wedding, our honeymoon, or our time together. Hannah! Hannah!" By the end, he was too heartbroken to speak.

Thinking about how he had failed to protect her time and again, leading to her severe injuries, he wished he could slap himself. Hadn't the previous lessons been enough? Why did he keep making the same mistakes over and over?

In her coma, Hannah seemed to sense something and moved her fingers, as if responding to Charles' words.

Charles immediately smiled, tears in his eyes, laughing and crying at the same time, looking quite comical. "Doctor, Hannah's hand moved. Does this mean she will wake up? She'll be okay?"

The doctor understood their feelings very well. If he could, he would also want to comfort them. But as a doctor, he couldn't lie and could only say truthfully, "This is a normal tendon reaction; it doesn't mean she will wake up."

Charles knew the doctor was right. Patricia was a doctor, and over the years, he had learned a bit from her.

But even though he knew it was self-deception, he still wanted to believe it was Hannah responding to him. She was telling him she would wake up. She wouldn't leave him alone.

Lisa and Quentin looked at the comatose Hannah on the hospital bed and felt guilty for the first time. Hannah had been so lively before! How did she end up lying there in the blink of an eye? Her face was so pale, as if she could die at any moment.

Hannah was sent to the ICU for observation. The doctor looked at the group and said sternly, "There's no need for so many people to stay here; it will disturb other patients. One or two people staying is enough."

Stella said, "I definitely want to stay!"

Lassie couldn't bear to leave either. She was afraid that if she left, she might never see Hannah again, so she said, "I want to stay with Hannah too! I haven't fulfilled my duties as a mother these past years. This time, I won't leave her. I want to be the first person she sees when she opens her eyes. I want to tell her that she is my biological daughter, she is Violet!"

Patricia looked at Charles, who was sitting silently on the bench. Although he didn't express his intention like Stella and Lassie, his actions had already shown that he wanted to stay and wouldn't go anywhere.

Patricia sighed inwardly and pulled Stella, saying, "You come back with me! Let Charles and Lassie stay here. If you're really worried, you can come back later to relieve them."

"But..." Stella wanted to argue, but seeing the state of Lassie and Charles, she closed her mouth.

That was right! No matter how worried she was, it couldn't compare to the worry of Lassie and Charles.

Lassie had just reunited with Hannah; how could she leave? Charles was Hannah's fiancé, so he definitely wouldn't leave. After thinking it over, Stella decided to leave.

Quentin and Lisa thought they were finally free. They helped each other up from the ground, ready to leave quietly.

Lassie saw them out of the corner of her eye and became furious again. "Patricia, lock them up! Until the matter is thoroughly investigated, they can't leave."

There were still many doubts about this incident. But she didn't have the time or energy to investigate now. However, no matter the outcome, she wouldn't let Lisa and Quentin, who had always mistreated Hannah, get away.

Lisa's legs trembled with fear. "We've told you everything we know! This is all we know! If you keep asking, we won't have anything more to say. For the sake of raising Hannah all these years, let us go! We promise to leave Sunset Bay immediately and never appear in front of you again."

Lassie sneered, "You want to leave after abusing my daughter? Impossible!" With that, she didn't look at them again.

Patricia understood her determination and ordered people to confine Quentin and Lisa in another house owned by the Langley family.

Even as they were being dragged away, Lisa and Quentin kept begging for mercy. "Please, let us go. We won't dare do it again!"

"Yes, we won't dare do it again. We have a son in Country D who needs our care! If you don't let us go, what will happen to our son?"

Seeing that pleading didn't work, Lisa started cursing, "Lassie, you ungrateful woman! If I hadn't taken your daughter in eight years ago, she would have starved to death on the streets. Instead of being grateful, you want to imprison us! You deserve to die!"

"No wonder your daughter was kidnapped eight years ago; it's because you did too many bad things and are now facing retribution. Lassie! Charles! Let us go!"

Stella, annoyed by their noise, muttered, "If they had reported finding her, Hannah would have gone back long ago! They exploited Hannah for eight years and still have the nerve to act righteous. I've seen shameless people, but this is the first time I've seen such shamelessness."

Patricia, knowing she was standing up for Hannah, patted her shoulder and said, "Let's go back. It's too noisy, not good for the patient's rest."

Stella looked at Hannah lying on the hospital bed through the glass wall and said to Charles, "If Hannah wakes up, you must call me immediately! Promise me!"

Charles didn't respond, and it was unclear if he heard her.
