Chapter 922 Never Separate Again
Charles's eyes lit up with desire, and he gulped hard, twice.
He tried to look away, but when he finally spoke, his voice came out all rough. "It's getting late. You should head back to your room and get some rest! I talked to your folks, and tomorrow we're all having a meal together to make things official."
He couldn't believe how smoothly everything was going.
With the weight off her shoulders, Hannah was too pumped to sleep. She threw herself into Charles's arms, hugging his waist tight and nuzzling her head against his chest.
Hannah said, all giddy, "I can't sleep. What should I do?"
Charles was quiet for a moment.
He was totally turned on, his heart racing and his breathing getting heavy.
Even though he was trying to keep it together, he still wrapped his arms around her waist to keep her from slipping off the couch.
Charles asked, "Can't sleep, huh? How about we go grab a bite?"
Hannah had lost a lot of weight since they last saw each other.
Her features were getting sharper.
Hannah shook her head.
Charles kept asking, "How about we call Stella and Randy to join us?"
Hannah shook her head again.
Charles held her tight and asked, "Then how about we watch some TV together?"
Hannah lifted her head from his chest and asked, "Are you tired?"
With his girl in his arms, how could he be sleepy?
Charles shook his head. "I'm too happy to be tired!"
Hannah grinned, her eyes turning into little crescent moons.
"Then let's watch a movie together! There's this new romance flick with great reviews. Stella's been bugging me to watch it, but I haven't yet." She adjusted herself to get more comfy in Charles's arms.
Charles looked at her tenderly and said, "Sure! What should we use to watch it?"
Hannah pulled out her phone and said, "We'll watch it on my phone! How are your legs? Can you handle it? Or should we lie down on the bed to watch?"
Charles, trying to be a gentleman, couldn't help but let his mind wander. He raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Really? Watch it in bed? Aren't you scared?"
Hannah laughed at his expression, her lips curling up.
"Scared of what? Scared you'll want to get it on with me?" She climbed off the couch. "I'm not scared! Maybe I'm better at it than you!"
Charles was taken aback by her boldness. He widened his eyes, trying to keep a straight face, but he couldn't help but smile.
Charles teased, "I didn't know you had it in you!"
Hannah put her hands on her hips and said, "Yeah, this is me! So what? Regret it? It's not too late to back out now."
Charles reached out, wrapped his arm around her waist, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her hard.
Hannah immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back passionately.
Charles held her waist with one hand and pressed the back of her head with the other, deepening the kiss.
Their breaths mingled, and they kissed like there was no tomorrow.
Charles's kiss was so intense that Hannah could barely catch her breath. Only when she was gasping for air did he let her go, gently rubbing his nose against hers.
Charles said softly, "Alright, let's watch the movie now."
Hannah was over the moon. She wrapped her arms around Charles's neck, pushed him onto the couch, and started kissing him all over.
Forehead, nose, face, lips—she kissed each spot with passion before moving to the next.
The room was filled with the sound of their kisses.
Charles placed his hands on her lower back, closed his eyes, and just soaked in the moment as she peppered his face with kisses.
Time flew by as they messed around.
After some playful antics, they snuggled into bed, propped the pillows up, and leaned against the headboard. Hannah turned on the TV and mirrored the movie onto it.
Charles let her lean against him, his arm naturally around her waist, adjusting her into the comfiest position.
Hannah usually didn't like talking during movies. But today, she couldn't focus. She kept touching Charles's chest and playing with his hand.
His hands were really something—well-defined joints, long fingers.
Maybe because he grew up with a silver spoon, his palms were smooth and callus-free, feeling super nice to hold.
Hannah wasn't paying attention to the movie. She placed her palm against Charles's and was amazed to find his hand was half a finger longer than hers.
Hannah said, "With hands like these, it's a shame you're not a hand model."
Charles rubbed his cheek against her forehead and laughed. "How do you know someone once offered me big bucks to be a hand model?"
Hannah asked, "Seriously?"
Charles's smile deepened. "I don't have the time! My time's too valuable; they can't afford me."
Hannah was stunned.
Charles continued, "Growing up, agents would approach me on the street, wanting me to join the entertainment industry, promising I'd be a star."
Hannah pouted, "You're so full of yourself."
Even though she said that, she believed him deep down.
She thought she was really lucky to have snagged such an amazing boyfriend.
Thinking she didn't believe him, Charles quickly explained, "I'm serious! Everyone in my family is good-looking! Fannie was discovered by an agent on the street, then she signed with an entertainment company and got into the industry through a beauty pageant! With her personality, if she weren't good-looking, she wouldn't have made it in the entertainment industry!"
Hannah believed this.
Although she hadn't met Fannie, seeing Charles, Randy, and their parents, she could guess that Fannie must be stunning.
Hannah interlaced her fingers with Charles's, their hands tightly clasped together.
Hannah changed the subject. "How did you wake up?"
Not long ago, Stella had called her, saying he showed no signs of waking up.
Charles took a deep breath. His eyes were on the TV, but his thoughts were far away. "During my coma, it felt like I was in a black hole. I could hear you all talking, and I desperately wanted to wake up! Stella kept telling me you were going to marry Austin, and if I didn't wake up, it would be too late! I was anxious and kept telling myself I had to wake up and be with Hannah, and that I couldn't let her be sad. But it felt like something was holding my legs, not letting me wake up. After struggling for a long time, and with your wedding date approaching, I don't know where I found the strength, but I finally broke free. Luckily, my mom was experienced and had doctors do physical therapy on me while I was in a coma! Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to get out of bed so quickly."
After saying this, he tightened his grip on Hannah's waist, his chin resting on her forehead, feeling a sense of relief at having her back.
Thinking about what Charles had been through, Hannah felt a deep ache in her heart. She held his hand tightly and said, "We'll never be apart again!"
Charles smiled and nodded. "Never again."
Hannah let go of Charles's hand, climbed out of his arms, pushed him onto the bed, and cupped his face, showering it with kisses.
