Chapter 736 Martin was Jealousy

Patricia and Martin looked at each other incredibly.

As the bookshelf slid open, a safe was inside.

"Could his documents be in here?" Patricia asked.

Martin approached the safe, "Do you remember Hunter's birthday?"

Patricia nodded and recited it.

Martin was a bit jealous when looking at Patricia.

Patricia chuckled, "We may have been apart, but we were close for ten years! After Elise died, Gavin and Chloe bullied and scolded me. Hunter was the only one who remembered my birthday and gave me gifts. He stood up for me when they bullied me. Without him, I might die early. How could I forget his birthday?"

Hunter had been her only light during those dark times. No one knew how much she had relied on him. If he hadn't been taken back to Country M, she wouldn't have been sent to the orphanage, where she met Martin.

Sometimes, it felt like fate.

Martin was more jealous, "I can't believe I didn't know this part of your past."

He knew Hunter and Patricia had grown up together and that Hunter had taken care of her, but he hadn't known how close they were.

Patricia, sensing his jealousy, patted his head playfully, "I didn't hide it from you. You never asked, and I couldn't just bring it up! You'd think I was trying to make you jealous."

If it weren't for Hunter's kindness, Patricia wouldn't have trusted him so much, almost leading to disaster.

She laughed, "Alright, don't be mad! Let's focus on the problem first."

Martin, though still a bit jealous, knew they had more pressing matters. He tried the birthday Patricia mentioned to open the safe.

The password was incorrect.

"Nope, it's not his birthday," Martin said.

Patricia grew anxious, "We only have three chances. If we fail three times, it locks permanently. We have two more chances."

Martin thought for a moment, "Do you remember the exact date of his mother's death?"

People often use significant dates as passwords. If it wasn't Hunter's birthday, it had to be another important date.

Patricia shook her head, "No, it can't be the date of his mother's death. If the person in that room is the real Hunter, that date wouldn't matter to him. The Hunter I knew didn't have a twin. His mother only had him."

Patricia didn't know why he had a twin brother looked exactly the same as Hunter. There was a hidden secret in the safe box.

Martin agreed and asked, "Can Charles crack the password?"

Patricia suddenly remembered, "Right! How could I forget Charles? He can hack into your company's firewall and plant a virus; this password should be easy for him."

Martin raised his eyebrows, "Plant a virus in my company's system?"

Realizing her mistake, Patricia quickly changed the subject, "Let's get someone to take the safe back home so Charles can crack it."

But Martin wasn't about to let it go and asked, "Did you just say Charles hacked into the Langley Group's firewall and planted a virus in our company?"

If Martin remembered correctly, his company had only been hit by a virus once. Even their top programmer, Brian, couldn't solve it at that time. Brian had been hunting for the culprit ever since but never found him. And now Patricia was saying the culprit was Charles?

Patricia gave an awkward smile, "That was a long time ago! Charles doesn't do that anymore."

"Really?" Martin's smile was cold and insincere.

Patricia shivered with goose bumps. She was doomed. If Charles found out Patricia had told this to Martin, Charles would be so angry.

Patricia clung to Martin's arm, trying to appease him, "Honey, please don't tell Charles it was me who told you, okay? If he finds out, I'm done."

The sudden "honey" made Martin feel a rush of heat. A small flame flickered in his eyes, seeming to grow larger. As for the words that followed "honey", Martin didn't even hear them. He was just thinking about that one word, it echoed in his mind over and over.

Seeing no reaction from Martin, Patricia thought he was unwilling to help her. She stood on tiptoe, her red lips close to his ear, her warm breath brushing against his sensitive neck, her voice soft and slightly coquettish, "Honey, please agree, okay? You can scold him or hit him, just don't rat me out."

When everything was fine, Patricia and Charles were friendly. When there was a trouble, Patricia would better protect herself first! After all, Martin wouldn't really do anything serious to Charles. At best, he'd scold him a bit. But if Charles found out Patricia had betrayed him, she'd be in big trouble. A mother being scolded by her son was a very embarrassing thing.

Patricia's "honey" felt like a feather gently brushing over Martin's body, making him feel a wave of softness inside, a familiar but strange sensation, and a sudden heat in his body.

The fire burned quickly, making Martin feel like the heat was seeping out of every pore.

Since the last incident, Martin had rarely had such thoughts or feelings. Even when he occasionally did, he quickly suppressed them.

But this time, the desire surged like a tidal wave, overwhelming Martin, and even someone as self-controlled as him couldn't suppress it.

Patricia asked, "Your face is so red. Do you have a fever? Are you sick again because you're too tired these days?"

Noticing his flushed face, Patricia worriedly placed her hand on his forehead.

Her palm was soft and cool, very comfortable, making Martin want to get closer and seek more.

But Martin knew it wasn't the time now, and this wasn't the place.

Suppressing his surging desire, Martin said with difficulty, "I'll have someone move the safe to Sunset Bay first."

His voice was hoarse, like a traveler trekking through the desert. Patricia immediately understood, her face turning as red as an apple, all the way to her ears. After being married for so many years, if she still didn't understand, she'd really be slow to react.

Patricia said, "Okay! Let's get someone to move it to Sunset Bay first."

Martin averted his gaze, not looking at her, "Once the safe is moved, we'll take Hunter's brother back to Country Y! After Hunter is cremated, we'll go home."

As for Hunter's brother, they'd figure out what to do with him once they got back to Sunset Bay.

The word "Home" deeply touched Patricia. They could finally go home. Debbie was dead. Now Hunter was dead too. Everything was over. Their family could finally be reunited.

The people Martin contacted arrived quickly. Using tools, they removed the safe from the wall and took it away. Martin and Patricia also boarded a plane back to Country Y, along with sleeping Hunter's brother.
