Chapter 667 Sebastian Uncovered The Truth
Throughout, Kaleb stood quietly on the side without a word.
The ride-hailing driver said slowly, "That day, I received an order early on, and the location was in the villa area. I picked up the customer on time at the hotel entrance, who later turned out to be the murderer, Patricia."
Martin furrowed his brow slightly, finding the term "murderer" quite harsh, but he didn't say anything.
The ride-hailing driver continued, "After I dropped off Patricia at the villa area, I was ready to pick up the next order! But just as I was about to leave, she came back and asked me to follow the black luxury sedan in front of us. That car drove all the way to Starlight Bridge. A man got out of the car, who later turned out to be the victim. I heard the police say his name was... Billy or something... Patricia also got out of the car. She told me to wait for her here, so I stayed. Then, I saw her follow Billy onto the bridge. Because it was a bit far away, I couldn't hear what they were saying. The next thing I saw, Patricia reached out and pushed Billy off the bridge. The water was so deep! With a 'splash,' Billy disappeared in an instant."
Sebastian seized on the key point in his words. "Are you sure you saw Patricia push Billy off?"
The ride-hailing driver nodded vigorously. "Yes, I'm sure."
Sebastian asked, "How is your eyesight?"
The ride-hailing driver proudly said, "I won't say much about other things, but my eyesight is the best! The last time I had an eye test, and it was excellent! So, I definitely didn't see it wrong."
Sebastian and Martin exchanged a glance.
Sebastian asked, "Where were you standing at that time? Where were Patricia and Billy?"
The ride-hailing driver led them to a spot about ten meters below the bridge, where they could clearly see what was happening on the bridge.
"I was standing right here!"
Sebastian asked, "Where were they on the bridge at that time?"
The ride-hailing driver gestured for them to go up to the bridge.
Sebastian had Ryan stand at that spot, staring fixedly at the bridge.
The rest followed the ride-hailing driver to the scene.
"At that time, Billy was standing right here, and Patricia was here..." the ride-hailing driver said, pushing Martin to where Billy stood at the time.
He also played the scene he saw in front of Kaleb and Sebastian.
"I clearly saw Patricia reach out..."
Sebastian asked, "Where was Patricia's hand at that time? How did she push?"
The ride-hailing driver placed his hand on Martin's shoulder, then made a pushing gesture. "Like this... she pushed like this... from behind, she pushed Billy from behind, he probably didn't even see who pushed him."
Sebastian crossed his left arm over his chest, placed his right elbow on his left hand, half-closed his right hand into a fist, resting it on his chin, and lightly tapping his chin with his index finger.
"Don't pretend to push, actually push and see."
The ride-hailing driver was startled. "No, I can't, I dare not, this is murder."
Sebastian glanced at Martin, who nodded, then said, "It's okay, he's skilled, he'll dodge! Just mimic Patricia's posture and force at that time."
The ride-hailing driver expressed disbelief, questioning, "Are you sure nothing will go wrong?"
Sebastian nodded assuredly, stating, "We do not jest with our own lives! Trust me, there will truly be no mishaps."
The ride-hailing driver hesitated but reluctantly agreed, seeing Sebastian's serious and convincing expression.
As the ride-hailing driver prepared, Sebastian gestured "Ok" to Ryan.
When everything was ready, Sebastian said to the ride-hailing driver, "Okay! You can start."
The ride-hailing driver took a deep breath, gathered his courage, reached out his hand, and forcefully patted Martin's shoulder according to what he saw at that time, then reached out his hand again...
The moment his hand touched Martin's shoulder, Martin instinctively turned his head.
The ride-hailing driver's pushing hand missed its mark as a result.
The ride-hailing driver frowned. "No, don't turn around... Billy didn't turn around at that time... How can I reenact it if you turn around?"
Sebastian immediately caught the flaw in his words. "If it were you, and someone suddenly patted your shoulder, would you turn around first or continue walking forward?"
His words left the ride-hailing driver completely stunned.
A clue seemed to flash through the ride-hailing driver's mind.
Unfortunately, it disappeared too quickly, and he didn't catch anything.
Sebastian continued, "Please, make a fake pushing gesture..."
Then, he leaned down to whisper a few words in Martin's ear.
The scene replayed once more.
The ride-hailing driver pushed hard towards Martin's back, but before he could start exerting force, Martin suddenly flipped over the safety railing and fell.
"Ah..."
The ride-hailing driver looked at his hands in shock.
"No, I... I didn't... I didn't even push... how did he fall?"
Sebastian took out his phone, turned on the speaker, and asked Ryan, "What did you see just now?"
Ryan's voice was very excited. "Randy, Randy, Martin fell... quickly... quickly get the rescue team down to save him. Why did the driver push Martin? He's trying to murder him!"
One sentence nearly scared the ride-hailing driver out of his wits.
"No, I didn't push him, he... he fell by himself... I didn't even push... clearly, he fell by himself..."
Ryan said angrily, "You're still trying to argue. I saw it with my own eyes! I'm telling you, if anything happens to Martin, I won't let you off."
There happened to be people below the bridge ready to rescue.
Seeing someone fall, they immediately prepared to take action.
However, before they could act, Martin was helped up from the water's surface and climbed onto the rescue team boat.
Sebastian held onto the safety railing, waving and loudly asking Martin, "Are you okay? No injuries, right?"
Unfortunately, the distance was too far, and Martin could only roughly guess his meaning from his waving hand. He waved back to signal he was okay.
This was their agreed-upon signal.
To indicate that he was unharmed.
The ride-hailing driver was completely dumbfounded, not understanding what had just happened.
He clearly didn't push the man just now, so how did he fall?
He wasn't dead.
He could climb up alive and well.
Sebastian smiled. "Haven't you figured it out yet?"
The ride-hailing driver was bewildered. "Figured out what?"
Sebastian smirked and narrowed his eyes, his expression as cold as winter frost, chilling to the bone.
