Chapter 660 Patricia Killed Billy

Martin lay on the hospital bed, glancing at the time on his phone.

Five past ten.

Patricia had yet to arrive.

Usually, by this time, Patricia would have already brought the medicine.

Why hadn't she come today?

Martin anxiously called Patricia.

The phone rang for a long time with no answer.

This was unprecedented.

Normally, when Martin and Patricia talked on the phone, they would pick up instantly unless something urgent came up, but even then, they would call back promptly.

But this time, Martin waited for half an hour, and Patricia still had yet to return his call.

A sense of foreboding enveloped him.

After much hesitation, Martin called Kaleb.

Just as the call went through, a phone rang outside the ward.

Subsequently, the door was pushed open from the outside, and Kaleb entered, holding a phone in his right hand and a thermal lunch box in his left.

Before Martin could speak, Kaleb asked, "What's going on with Patricia? Wasn't she supposed to come this morning to prepare the medicine with me? She didn't show up or even call."

Martin was taken aback by Kaleb's words.

"Patricia didn't go to your place?"

Kaleb shook his head. "No!"

Then, realizing something, he asked anxiously, "What happened?"

Martin's unease grew.

He didn't have time to answer Kaleb's question and said to Ryan, "Hurry to the hotel and see if she's there."

Even Ryan, usually slow on the uptake, sensed that something was amiss and nodded quickly before leaving.

Kaleb inquired anxiously, "What has happened to Patricia? What's wrong?"
Martin gently pressed his thumb and forefinger against his temples. "Patricia has gone missing."
Kaleb's breath caught in his throat. "How could she have disappeared?"
Martin shook his head. "Last night, I instructed her to return to the hotel to rest! She mentioned she would come over to your place this morning to prepare my medication and personally deliver it once it was ready. However... she hasn't shown up yet, and she isn't responding to calls."
Perhaps she had simply overslept at the hotel from exhaustion over these past three days.
One could only hope that this was the case.
Otherwise—
Martin dared not delve further into that dreadful line of thought.
Anxious, Kaleb asked, "Where could Patricia be? Is she at the hotel?"

Martin worriedly replied, "I hope so."

Since the hotel they stayed at was close to the hospital, Ryan called back soon.

"Martin, Patricia isn't at the hotel! I asked the front desk, and they said Patricia left early! I also checked the hotel's entrance cameras, and she was heading towards Kaleb's house."

Patricia had always stayed in the presidential suite at the hotel.

So, the hotel reception personnel knew her and kept an eye on her movements.

Before Martin could speak, Ryan, with a worried look, said, "Patricia clearly went to Kaleb's place, but Kaleb didn't see her. Could something have happened?"

"Come back."

After the call, Martin anxiously asked Kaleb, "What about Billy? Did Joe take him to the police station?"

At the mention of Billy, Kaleb's expression changed. "He's been missing for two days now, today being the third! Joe and Susan can't find him."

After a pause, although reluctant, Kaleb faced reality. "No, surely his involvement with Patricia's disappearance is out of the question, isn't it?"

Martin didn't directly answer the question but asked, "Kaleb, can you do me a favor?"

Kaleb readily agreed. "As long as I can help, I will."

Fearing his body might not hold up, Martin opened the lunch box, poured out the medicine, drank it all, and then said, "Go check the street surveillance. If she's still in the city, we'll find her. I'm a stranger here, feeling constrained. With the Taylor family's status in Country D, it would be more convenient."

Kaleb agreed without hesitation. "You're right! I'll arrange it right away..."

Just as he was about to leave, Martin got out of bed and said, "Wait, let me change clothes, and we'll go together."

"Okay!"

After changing, when Martin came out, Ryan had returned.

The three of them left the hospital together.

Kaleb easily accessed the footage from the street surveillance cameras.

Following the ride-sharing car's license plate that Patricia took, they searched...

The surveillance showed that after Patricia arrived at the villa area's entrance, she got into another ride-sharing car...

"Wait..."

Martin paused the video, zoomed in, and pointed to a figure in a corner, asking Kaleb, "Is this Billy?"

Kaleb immediately recognized him. "Yes, it's Billy! I've watched him grow up; I wouldn't mistake him."

Even from just a silhouette, Kaleb could tell.

That person was, indeed, Billy.

"Did Patricia follow Billy?"

Though anxious and fearful, Martin remained calm and continued to watch the surveillance.

Unfortunately, they soon left the monitored area and headed towards the outskirts.

As the surveillance cameras were newly installed, there were no cameras on the roads yet.

Ryan said, "Billy is dangerous. Patricia followed him alone, and she didn't even call us."

Martin furrowed his brow. "Patricia must have been too anxious and forgot!"

Turning to Kaleb, he said, "Kaleb, can you arrange a car for me? I want to go see for myself."

Kaleb nodded. "I'll go with you. If Billy is up to something, I might be able to help. After all, I've watched him grow up."

Martin agreed.

Kaleb immediately made a call to arrange the car.

Just as they were about to leave, Kaleb received a call. Although Martin and Ryan couldn't hear what was said on the other end, they could tell from Kaleb's increasingly grim expression that it wasn't good news.

As expected, after the call, Kaleb's brow was deeply furrowed.

"Just now, the police called me. They said... they said..."

After a pause and regaining his composure, he said gravely, "They said Patricia has been arrested for intentional murder and is currently detained at the police station."

Upon hearing this, both Martin's and Ryan's faces changed.

Martin said in a low voice, "There must be a mistake! Let's hurry to the police station!"

"What, Patricia killed someone? Who did she kill? Did the police investigate properly? Patricia is so timid. How could she kill someone?"

Kaleb tightly pressed his lips together, looking like he had something difficult to say.

Ryan anxiously stomped his foot. "Kaleb, speak up! Who did Patricia kill?"

After a while, Kaleb slowly uttered three words, "It's Billy—"
