Chapter 1018 Disappeared
There was still no response from inside the toilet stall.
Charles clenched his fists. Just as he was about to kick the door, it opened from the inside.
A woman looked at Charles in terror, her body trembling slightly with fear. "Mr. Langley, what... what do you want to do?"
Charles frowned deeply, almost wanting to hit her. "Why did it take you so long to open the door?"
The woman lowered her head, nervously twisting her dress, and said timidly, "I... I had a bit of diarrhea, and I'm naturally timid. I didn't know what was happening outside, so I didn't dare to make a sound."
She thought a lunatic had suddenly barged in, so she didn't even dare to breathe loudly, silently praying that the person outside would leave quickly.
How could she have known that the man outside was Charles, the main character of today's banquet?
If she had known, she would have come out earlier and avoided this misunderstanding.
Charles stared at her, realizing she didn't seem to be lying, so he said nothing more. He turned and left the restroom, walking towards the elevator while calling Martin.
The call was answered immediately.
Charles asked eagerly, "Dad, have you seen Hannah leave the restroom on the surveillance during this time?"
Charles thought, The last place Hannah was seen is the restroom. If she hasn't left, she should still be in the restroom. But why is there no one in the restroom?'
Martin said, "No! From the time she went in until an hour after Violet came out, no one came out. I watched several screens simultaneously, and none of us saw her come out."
Charles stopped in his tracks and said, "But she's not in the restroom! I've searched everywhere; she's not there."
Charles thought, 'If she's not in the restroom and hasn't left, where could she be? Where exactly did Violet hide her?'
Martin said, "During that time, many people went in and out of the restroom, but none were suspicious; they were almost all female guests attending the engagement party. The hotel cleaner went in three times. I just had the hotel manager ask her, and she said she didn't see Hannah each time she went in to clean. So, Hannah shouldn't be in the restroom. I don't know where Violet took her."
Charles's chest heaved violently.
At this moment, he wished he could find Violet in the lounge and use severe interrogation to force her to reveal Hannah's whereabouts.
But she was Carter's daughter.
Carter almost lost his life for Patricia back then.
The two families had been close for many years.
He was afraid of ruining the relationship between the two families and even more afraid that Violet would do something to harm Hannah in desperation.
He couldn't let that happen.
Suddenly, he thought of something and hurriedly said, "Dad, ask the security if there are any cameras outside the hotel."
As he spoke, he got into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.
The elevator descended slowly.
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line, then Martin said, "I just asked the security. They said there are only cameras inside the hotel, none outside."
Hearing this, Charles's heart sank. "Any news from Uncle Alan?"
Martin shook his head, then realized Charles couldn't see him and said, "No! Because we don't know the exact time, and the area around the Sunset Grand Hotel has high foot traffic and many cameras, checking the street surveillance will take some time."
They didn't even know if they could find anything.
It was winter now, and if Violet changed Hannah's appearance, finding her would be even more difficult.
But he didn't dare say this, fearing it would worry Charles.
"Let me know immediately if Uncle Alan has any news!" As Charles spoke, the elevator had already stopped on the first floor.
"I'll hang up now." With that, Charles hung up the phone, walked out of the elevator, and went to the hotel lobby to find a receptionist to take him to the wall corresponding to the women's restroom on the third floor banquet hall.
The hotel was too big.
There were many restrooms.
Each place was different.
The receptionist took Charles a long time to find the window corresponding to that restroom.
Outside the window was a long drainage pipe, but nothing else.
But after coming down this wall, there was a secluded pedestrian path. The road was too narrow for vehicles, only allowing people or bicycles.
If someone was taken out from there, they wouldn't need to go through the hotel and could leave directly via the path.
Charles searched around but didn't see any surveillance cameras.
Charles asked, "Why aren't there any surveillance cameras here?"
The receptionist was stunned, blinked, and said aggrievedly, "I... I'm just a receptionist. This is decided by the hotel management. I don't know why!"
Charles lowered his head and pinched his brow.
He was too anxious and almost implicated the innocent.
This wall faced the street, so it was normal for the hotel not to install cameras.
But because this was a small road, the government hadn't installed street cameras either.
If Hannah was indeed taken out by Violet from here, it would be even more troublesome.
The banquet hall was on the third floor.
Although it would be troublesome to get someone down from the third floor, it wasn't impossible.
But with the right tools and help, it could be done easily.
Charles was extremely frustrated.
A surge of anger welled up in his chest, as if it would burst out the next moment.
But he knew he couldn't be anxious, nor could he lose his temper. Losing his temper wouldn't solve anything; he needed to stay calm and keep a clear head. Hannah was still waiting for him to rescue her!
Charles returned to the surveillance room.
As he expected, nothing could be found on the surveillance.
Since Violet, disguised as Hannah, came out of the restroom, Hannah hadn't been seen coming out.
The only possibility was that Hannah had been taken out of the restroom.
Charles said with a grim face, "Dad, you stay here and watch the surveillance yourself, not just the restroom but other places too, to see if there's any sign of Hannah. I'm going to find Uncle Alan! I just checked the small road outside the restroom. I'll send someone to search nearby."
Martin nodded. "Okay! Leave this to me. I'll call you if there's any news."
Carter and Lassie stood guiltily to the side, not daring to speak, fearing they would annoy Charles.
Violet had done such a thing, and they didn't dare face Charles anymore.
But they couldn't leave without finding Hannah.
Just as Charles walked out of the surveillance room, his phone rang in his pocket.
The call was from Randy.
He answered the phone, put it to his ear, and said confidently, "Has Hannah woken up?"
The Hannah he referred to was the one Violet had disguised as.
Randy said softly, "Yes! She's looking for you! What should I do? Where are you now?"
