Chapter 988 Settling All Accounts Together

Winter break had hit, and the store was already jam-packed with customers. After Violet stormed in and caused a ruckus, some folks left, but a bunch stuck around. About 60% of them were just there for the drama, but now they were all stuck in the store.

And there were bodyguards everywhere.

The place was bursting at the seams.

Wyatt hadn't shown up yet.

Stella had been hanging out in the store, waiting for Charles.

When she saw him walk in, she rushed over and asked, "Charles, how's Hannah? Is she okay?"

Charles replied, "She's asleep! I'll check on her after I handle this."

Charles' voice was super raspy, like he hadn't spoken in days.

Stella looked around at everyone in the room and asked, "Charles, what are you gonna do with them?"

She had stayed on purpose to see what would happen to them.

Charles smirked coldly. "No rush. We'll deal with them all together once everyone's here."

A bodyguard, catching on, brought over two chairs, one for Stella and one for Charles.

Everyone had already seen him earlier and knew he was the cheating jerk.

Having been stuck here for so long, everyone was already pretty ticked off.

"Let us go already. We've been here forever. My kid needs some fresh air."

"This has nothing to do with us. I was just watching the drama, didn't say anything, and didn't get involved. Why are you keeping me here?"

"This whole mess is because you cheated. We felt bad for your girlfriend and helped her teach the mistress a lesson. You should be reflecting on yourself."

"Do you know that keeping us here and not letting us leave is illegal? If you don't let us go, we'll call the cops."

"Gathering all these people! I'm telling you, we're not scared of you. Stop bluffing."

"Let us go!"

"Yeah, let us go."

"There are so many of us. If it comes to a fight, you might not stand a chance."

Charles ignored them, acting like he hadn't heard a thing, not even glancing their way. He gestured, and a bodyguard immediately leaned in to listen. "Mr. Watson, what are your orders?"

Charles asked, "Where's Wyatt now?"

"Wyatt's almost here! We've tracked down everyone who tried to escape using the surveillance footage and brought them along. They're on their way." After a pause, he added, "Most of those who tried to escape were the ones who attacked Hannah."

If they hadn't attacked, they wouldn't have realized how serious this was and tried to run when Charles showed up.

As he finished talking, the glass door opened again.

The escapees were escorted in by the black-clad bodyguards.

Some of them even had injuries on their faces.

As soon as they saw Charles, they dropped to their knees with a thud.

"Mr. Watson, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have attacked your girlfriend. Please, let us go this time. We were misled by that bitch and thought Hannah was the mistress, so we helped beat her. I'm sorry. We were wrong and won't do it again."

"Yeah, we didn't know Hannah was your girlfriend. I'm willing to pay for medical expenses and emotional damages. Please, let us go."

"This whole thing is the instigator's fault. We're innocent. We were just trying to help."

"She's right. If you want to punish someone, go after that bitch. We were deceived."

Some even crawled to Charles' feet, trying to hug his legs, but Charles kicked them away.

Looking at his dirty pant leg, Charles took out a handkerchief, wiped it clean with a look of disgust, and then handed it to a bodyguard, who immediately took the handkerchief and tossed it in the trash.

Charles leaned back in his chair, staying silent.

He was waiting for Wyatt to bring Violet over so he could handle everything in one go.

The people begging for mercy got another round of beatings from the bodyguards, finally shutting them up.

Not long after, the glass door opened again.

Before Wyatt even stepped in, Violet's cries for mercy echoed, "Daddy, Mommy, save me. I'm so scared."

Then came Lassie's soothing voice, "Violet, don't be afraid. We're just here to clear things up. Charles won't wrong you. Be good. We'll go home soon."

Carter and Austin followed behind, keeping quiet.

Seeing Violet brought in, the detained folks sighed in relief and pointed at her, "It's her. It's all her doing. It has nothing to do with us."

"If she hadn't shown us the photos and told us that Hannah, the store clerk, stole her boyfriend, we wouldn't have done anything. We have no grudge against Hannah."

"Blame her and take revenge on her, not us. We were incited by her."

"Now that she's here, you can let us go, right?"

No matter how much they shouted, Charles acted like he hadn't heard a thing, not even glancing their way.

Seeing the crowd's anger, Violet couldn't help but shrink back, taking small steps to Charles' side, squatting down, and holding onto his arm. Her face showed fear and panic, her eyes darting around like she was seeing ghosts, not daring to look directly.

Violet said, "Charles. There are so many people here. I'm so scared."

Violet thought, 'The only way to avoid punishment is to feign illness. Seeing me fall ill, Charles will surely be reluctant to blame me.'

Seeing her act, Stella rolled her eyes and mocked, "Stop pretending. It's disgusting! Where's that disgusting face you had earlier? Where did it go?"

At her words, Violet's body shrank in fear.

Violet whined, "Charles, I'm scared. She's so fierce."

Normally, Charles would silently pull his arm away.

But this time, his cold gaze fell on Violet.

Then, with a wave of his arm, he pushed her away.

Violet lost her balance and fell to the ground, instinctively trying to brace herself with her hands.

But because of Charles' strength, the impact was too great. As she hit the ground, a crisp sound was heard, and a searing pain shot through her left wrist.

She gasped in pain, her face contorting.

Lassie exclaimed in shock, heartbroken, and immediately went over to help her up. "Violet, are you okay? Let me see. How are you?"

Violet looked at Lassie with tearful eyes, extremely aggrieved. "Mommy, Charles is angry. He's still mad at me. He won't forgive me."

Her tone and pitch were like that of a child, completely unlike an adult.

Lassie held her injured hand and looked at Charles, anxiously explaining, "Charles, there must be a misunderstanding. Violet would never do such a thing. You have to find out the truth."

Lassie had heard everything everyone said earlier, but believed there must be a misunderstanding.

Violet wouldn't do such a thing.

At this moment, Carter and Austin also walked over.

Carter glanced at Violet's injured hand and said heavily, "Charles, what happened? Wyatt said Violet hurt Hannah. Is that true? What exactly happened?"

Austin looked around the store but didn't see Hannah, anxiously asking, "Where's Hannah? Where is she now?"

Charles didn't answer their questions. He just wanted to resolve this matter quickly and didn't want to waste time.

Seeing that everyone who needed to be here was present, he gave Wyatt a look.

Everyone was here, so it was time to deal with it all at once.
