Chapter 761 Proving Identity

Patricia stood at the doorway, hesitating, "Would Joe bring Hunter here?"

Carol replied, "My dad's an upright guy, never corrupt. He bought a few properties in some nice neighborhoods, but those houses are always empty. One's for my brother, one's for me. Knowing my dad, he wouldn't bring anyone there. So, if Hunter's in Country D, it's gotta be at our place."

Patricia trusted Carol. In the whole Hill family, Carol was the only one who seemed clear-headed.

The villa had six floors, with an attic on top. Carol used her fingerprint to open the door and took Patricia and Martin straight to the attic via the elevator. To make it easier for Maximilian to get in, she left the door slightly ajar.

Sure enough, as soon as they got up there, they heard faint sounds coming from the room.

"Don't hit me, don't hit me." The voice was low and hard to make out unless you listened carefully. Even so, Patricia immediately recognized it as Hunter's voice. She grabbed Carol's arm, "Carol, it's Hunter. He's really here."

Carol patted her hand reassuringly, turned the doorknob, and pushed the door open. Inside the large room, Hunter was tied up and thrown on the ground, a white towel stuffed in his mouth, being punched and kicked by several burly bodyguards.

Hunter trembled in fear, unable to speak because of the gag. Joe sat in a chair on the side, coldly watching Hunter get beaten, his expression like that of a devil.

The sudden sound of the door opening drew everyone's attention. When Hunter saw Patricia standing at the door, it was like he had seen God. He began to struggle and move towards Patricia, seemingly calling her name through the gag. His eyes were red and swollen, his emotions particularly agitated.

Seeing Hunter beaten black and blue, Patricia felt a pang of heartache and instinctively wanted to rush over, but Martin held her back.

Carol quickly stepped forward, frowning at Joe, "Dad, what are you doing?"

Joe coldly glanced at Patricia and Martin, his attitude starkly different from the friendly demeanor he had when leaving Country Y. In his view, Patricia and Martin were accomplices in shielding Gabriel.

Gabriel had caused Billy's death, and instead of avenging Billy, they helped Gabriel escape.

He hadn't sought revenge on them, merely secretly bringing Hunter here, which was already lenient. He hadn't expected them to come.

Joe said, "You want to save Hunter? Absolutely not! He not only caused my son's death but also ruined my family! I will make sure he dies a miserable death."

If Gabriel hadn't impersonated Joe's son, Susan wouldn't have resented him and decided to divorce him. He had no quarrel with Gabriel, but Gabriel insisted on provoking him, so he couldn't be blamed for being ruthless.

Carol hurriedly said, "Dad, he's not Hunter! He's Hunter's twin brother! The real Hunter has been dead for a long time! This guy went insane years ago and has been in a mental hospital. You've got the wrong person!"

Joe, however, wasn't buying it, "Twins? How many twins are there in the world? If you say he was locked up in a mental hospital for years, then show me the hospital records."

Carol explained, "Remember that mental hospital that burned down a while ago? Over two hundred people died! That was Hunter's doing! His twin brother's records were burned to ashes!"

Joe snorted, "I may be old, but I'm not silly."

He stood up, looking coldly at Carol, "Carol, you're my daughter, Billy's sister. He was killed, and instead of being sad and thinking about avenging him, you keep defending the enemy?"

Carol felt exhausted, her temples throbbing, "Dad, I'm not defending the enemy! I'm telling the truth! Since Hunter is already dead, this should be over!"

Joe's expression turned ferocious, "As long as the murderer isn't dead, this will never be over!"

Carol knew Joe didn't believe her, "Dad, I've told you, he's not the Hunter who killed my brother. No, the one who killed my brother wasn't Hunter at all. This is the real Hunter. Gabriel has been impersonating Hunter all along! Patricia grew up with the real Hunter. She can testify."

Patricia immediately chimed in, "Joe, I can prove that the one who killed Billy was the fake Hunter. The one you have tied up now is the real Hunter. They are twin brothers."

Joe sneered, "What proof do you have? If the one who killed Billy was the fake Hunter, why didn't you recognize him from the start?"

Patricia was stumped by his words and could only take out her phone to find the evidence Riley had sent.

Patricia said, "If you don't believe me, I can show you the evidence! The Hunter who killed your son is really dead. Here is his death certificate and cremation certificate, and a video of him being pushed into the furnace! The video clearly shows his face."

As she spoke, she had already found the evidence.

Joe, however, turned his head away, refusing to look. Joe said, "You'd say anything to save Hunter. I won't look, and I won't believe it."

Patricia was sweating with anxiety, "What I'm saying is true! If I intended to hide the truth, why didn't I hide Hunter in Country Z from the start? That way, Brooke wouldn't have known. If you don't believe me, you can examine him. He really isn't normal. And the scars on his body! When Hunter was caught, didn't Sebastian cut him with a dagger? Based on the timeline, even if the wound has healed, it would have left a scar. He doesn't have any scars!"

As Patricia spoke, she moved to pull off Hunter's clothes.

Martin was startled and immediately stopped her, then walked over to Hunter and pulled back his clothes, revealing the place where Sebastian had stabbed him.

There was a long, deep brown scar. Although there was a scar, it was not caused by a sharp weapon and had no indentations. Moreover, the shape of the scar was different from the one Riley had left.

Seeing the scar, Joe's expression kept changing.
