Chapter 1268 Heartbroken

Stella was boiling inside and decided she wouldn't reach out to Randy again.

Even though she sometimes felt anxious and spaced out, she stuck to her decision and went back to school in Country D the day after she got back.

After her morning classes, she was heading to the cafeteria for lunch when she unexpectedly saw Emeric at the entrance of the building.

It looked like he was waiting for her.

When he saw her, Emeric strolled over. "Hey, heading to lunch?"

Stella nodded. "Yeah! How'd you know I was back at school?"

Emeric shrugged. "Figured you'd be back around today, so I thought I'd try my luck! Didn't expect to see you right away."

"I see," Stella responded, sounding a bit distant.

Emeric said, "It's been a while. Mind if I join you for lunch?"

"Sure," Stella replied, still not very enthusiastic.

They walked side by side towards the cafeteria.

Emeric noticed something was off and couldn't help but ask, "Is something bothering you?"

Stella didn't want to tell him about her argument with Randy, so she shook her head and said lightly, "No, I've just been really busy lately and I'm a bit tired."

Seeing her response, Emeric didn't push further.

They walked in silence to the cafeteria.

As usual, Stella found a seat while Emeric went to order the food.

Two mild dishes, two spicy dishes.

Having lunch with Emeric should have made Stella happy, especially since she used to drag him to eat together every day when she was pursuing him.

But now, sitting across from him, she couldn't muster any joy.

Emeric noticed her lack of appetite and placed a piece of steak in her plate.

Stella took a bite, chewing without tasting.

Emeric glanced at her discreetly, hesitated for a moment, then decided to ask, "Did you talk to Randy about him taking me on as a student?"

His question snapped Stella out of her daze.

She had completely forgotten about it, especially with the recent tension between her and Randy.

Feeling guilty for not following through on her promise to Emeric, Stella scratched her head awkwardly. "Sorry, I forgot!"

Emeric's eyes briefly flashed with a hint of frustration, but he hid it well, smiling at Stella. "It's okay! I know you've been busy. It's normal to forget."

After a pause, he continued, "Now that you're less busy, could you find some time to talk to Randy? I heard he's about to start a tour in Country Y. It would be great to go and learn from him."

His underlying message was clear.

Stella picked up on it immediately.

But she didn't have the energy to think deeper about his words, mechanically eating her food. "Sorry, Randy and I..."

She was about to tell Emeric about her fight with Randy, but suddenly had a bright idea, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Emeric, what did you just say? Repeat it."

Emeric was taken aback by her sudden reaction. "I said, I know you've been busy, so you didn't have time to talk to Randy. Now that you're less busy, could you talk to him?"

Stella waved her hand impatiently. "Not that part, the next bit."

Emeric hesitated. "I heard Randy is about to start a tour in Country Y. It would be great to go and learn from him."

He couldn't understand Stella's sudden excitement, wondering if she had figured out his intentions.

Stella asked, "How do you know Randy is starting a tour?"

Emeric smiled. "The news came out two days ago. The ads are everywhere! Everyone knows, whether they like him or not. The tickets sold out in seconds, and I couldn't get one."

He felt disappointed thinking about it.

He had tried to get a ticket as soon as he heard the news, but his old phone and slow internet couldn't compete with others.

Stella suddenly clapped her hands. "Right! How could I forget something so important?"

Emeric looked at her, puzzled.

Stella's mood shifted from frustration to joy. "Don't worry, I'll talk to Randy tonight! As for the tour, getting a ticket is no big deal. It's a piece of cake! Just wait for my good news!"

Emeric was surprised by her quick agreement.

He thought he would have to persuade her more.

Thinking about becoming Randy's student and attending his concert, Emeric smiled genuinely for the first time, the coldness in his eyes fading.

That evening, Stella called Randy as soon as she got home.

The phone rang twice before it was answered.

"Randy!"

Before she could express her excitement, a familiar yet distant voice came through.

"Ms. Reed, Mr. Langley is busy right now and can't take your call. Please try again later."

It was Randy's manager, Jett.

Stella recognized his voice immediately.

She didn't know if Randy was really busy or just avoiding her, but she wasn't angry. She spoke firmly, "Tell Randy I have something urgent that only he can help with. Have him call me back when he's free, or I'll never speak to him again."

Without waiting for Jett's response, she hung up.

She didn't believe Randy would ignore her if he knew she had an urgent matter.

Sure enough, an hour later, Randy called back.

Seeing his name on the caller ID, Stella raised an eyebrow, feeling smug.

But as soon as she answered, she composed herself, her tone losing its usual warmth and becoming more distant. "Randy, I need your help."

Randy didn't hesitate, asking, "What do you need?"

Stella said, "My boyfriend is a fan of yours. He wants to be your student. Can you take him on?"

Her tone was assertive, not leaving room for refusal.

She had thought it through.

Since Randy was avoiding her and she couldn't reach him, she would use Emeric's request to get close to Randy.

If Randy took Emeric as a student, she could be around Randy like before, and their relationship could slowly mend.

After she finished speaking, there was a long silence.

She could only hear Randy's heavy breathing on the other end.
