Chapter 992 Charles' Power is Very Strong
Charles shot Wyatt a look, and Wyatt got the message right away. He personally dragged out each of the accused folks along with their bodyguards.
Almost half the crowd got pulled out.
The rest of the people shrank back. Those with kids clutched them tight, and those without just kept their heads down, trying to blend into the background.
Charles' eyes, like he could see right through everyone, stared unblinkingly at the group.
Charles asked, "Is that everyone?"
Everyone, scared of getting dragged into this mess, nodded quickly. "That's all of them. We were just bystanders and didn't touch or curse your girlfriend."
"Yeah, we didn't do anything. It was them who cursed, not us."
"If you don't believe us, you can check the surveillance footage again."
Charles looked at Wyatt and said with a blank expression, "Then bring me their phones."
The crowd didn't know what he was up to, but desperate to save their skins, they immediately handed their phones to Wyatt.
Wyatt took the phones from the crowd. Even though Charles hadn't said much, he knew what Charles wanted and had everyone unlock their phones and open their photo albums.
Charles carefully checked each one.
Not only were there secret photos, but some people had sent videos to their family groups, work groups, and friend groups.
Some had just sent them out, while others were cursing in the group chats.
Charles glanced at Wyatt, and Wyatt pulled out those who hadn't taken videos and were just bystanders.
They were terrified and begged for mercy.
"I really didn't do anything. I was just here with my kid to eat fried chicken and watch the commotion. I swear, I won't even watch the commotion anymore."
"I even pleaded for Hannah, but there were too many people, and they didn't hear me. Please, don't hurt me."
"I tried to help, but I was too weak, and there were too many people. I almost fell. I'm not a perpetrator. Please don't hurt me."
"I was just watching and didn't do anything. Please let me go."
People always said not to have too much unnecessary curiosity.
They didn't believe it before. But now they truly believed it.
If they had known, they wouldn't have stayed to watch the commotion.
They never thought that watching a commotion could lead to this.
Wyatt returned their phones and said calmly, "You can go now!"
When they heard this, they thought they had misheard and looked at him in disbelief. "We can really go?"
They had wanted to leave all along, and now that they could, it felt like a dream, so unreal.
Wyatt explained, "Mr. Watson doesn't implicate the innocent. Since you were just bystanders and neither hit nor cursed Hannah, you won't be implicated. But learn from this experience. In the future, stay far away from such incidents. Don't watch what you shouldn't."
These people had been trembling with fear, but now, they were safe and sound. They quickly left with their children.
They were just lucky today. The reason they hadn't hit or cursed was because their children were with them, and they were afraid their actions would set a bad example, so they just stood by.
After they left, there were no more children in the store.
When Violet first caused trouble, some parents who were afraid their children would get hurt, had already left.
Those who stayed were just watching the commotion.
Now, only adults related to the incident remained.
Charles didn't waste any more words. He waved his hand and said coldly, "Take them away. I don't want to see any blood."
Wyatt got the message and gave the bodyguards a look.
The bodyguards grabbed the accused and dragged them to the back kitchen.
"No! Help!"
"Help! They're gonna kill us!"
"We won't meddle anymore! Please, let us go! I swear, I won't meddle anymore!"
Their pleas for mercy quickly turned into screams and cries of pain.
A few moments later, the bodyguards came out of the back kitchen, wiping blood from their hands.
"Mr. Watson, we did as you ordered. We cut their lips. They passed out from the pain, and we've put them in sacks and dumped them at their doorsteps."
Hearing this, Violet trembled with fear.
Not just her, even Carter, Lassie, and Austin were terrified.
They had always thought Charles was gentle. Though he always had a slight aloofness towards outsiders, he was polite and courteous.
Even when facing enemies, he wouldn't go to extremes.
But today's Charles seemed to have lost his mind.
They never expected him to give such a harsh punishment to those who only cursed Hannah and didn't cause her any physical harm.
If even they had their lips cut, what would happen to the main culprit, Violet?
They didn't dare to think further.
"Charles." Lassie bit her lip and tried to speak, but as soon as she called Charles's name, she saw Charles pointing at the employees hiding behind the counter and said, "Bring them out."
Including the kitchen staff, there were ten employees in total.
Wyatt got the order and gave the bodyguards a look. "Bring them out."
Many of the employees were so scared that they wet themselves, their pants wet and dripping.
Hearing the order, their legs trembled, and they could barely walk.
Charles' methods were too ruthless.
Not only that, but his influence was also immense.
The store had been closed for so long, and such a big incident had occurred. Normally, someone would have called the police, or at least the mall manager would have come.
But no one came.
All their phones had no signal, and they couldn't even call the police.
If it weren't for immense influence, how could this be achieved?
He said he'd cut off hands, and he did.
He said he'd strip them and throw them out, and he did.
He even cut their lips.
The commotion was so big, yet no police came, showing how powerful he was.
They were now like lambs to the slaughter.
The store manager mustered the courage and said, "We didn't do anything. We didn't hit or curse Hannah. And when that person came to cause trouble, I even tried to help."
With one person speaking up, the others immediately followed.
"Yeah, we didn't do anything. This has nothing to do with us."
"The manager is right. I also wanted to help, but there were too many people, and I was too weak to help."
"We really didn't do anything."
They were just curious bystanders.
Those bystanders were fine, so they should be fine too, right?
Charles stared at them with piercing eyes. "You are colleagues. Why didn't you help her?"
The manager immediately explained, "It's not that we didn't want to help, but we didn't understand what was happening and didn't know who to help."
Charles sneered and said, "In the end, you still didn't believe her. You are colleagues, yet when something happened to her, you all stood by."
With these words, the ten employees gasped in unison.
From his tone, it seemed they were also at fault.
