Chapter 839: Hannah is my fiancée
Stella's eyes popped wide as she saw the Bentley roll into the lot and park right next to Charles' Maybach.
Charles squinted.
If he had any doubts before, they were gone now.
Austin and Hannah were definitely more than just "friends," no matter what Stella had said.
He didn't think regular friends would go on vacation together.
Stella clenched her teeth, feeling a strong dislike for Austin.
Such a perfect chance, and he had to mess it up. So annoying.
How could someone be this annoying?
Under Stella and Charles' watchful eyes, the driver and passenger doors opened at the same time, and out stepped Hannah and Austin.
Austin went straight to the trunk to grab the luggage.
Hannah, on the other hand, ran over to Stella with a big smile.
"Have you been waiting long? Sorry, traffic was a nightmare, so we got here late," Hannah apologized.
She looked around and asked, confused, "Why are there only the two of you? Where are your parents?"
Stella gritted her teeth and said, "Something came up, and they couldn't make it."
She hadn't planned on them coming anyway.
She wanted to set up Hannah and Charles, then find an excuse to leave, giving them some alone time to hit it off.
But now, Austin had shown up.
No need to leave anymore.
Hannah didn't suspect a thing and smiled, "Stella, Austin said he wanted to come along. I thought he had nothing to do at home, so I brought him! You don't mind, do you?"
Then, worried Stella might be upset, she quickly added, "But don't worry, you don't have to cover his expenses! He'll pay his own way."
Stella forced a stiff smile that looked worse than crying.
"Of course!" Stella said.
Charles shot Stella a meaningful glance, his eyes like daggers, making her scalp tingle.
She didn't dare look at him and lowered her head, wishing she could disappear.
At that moment, Austin walked over with two small suitcases. He went straight to Charles, smiled, and said, "Charles!"
He had been worried Charles would suspect Hannah's identity because of him.
Since Charles had already done a DNA test and hadn't discovered the truth, he no longer needed to hide.
This was perfect.
He could openly stand here as Hannah's boyfriend and tell him that Hannah was his fiancée. Charles couldn't covet Hannah.
Today, Austin was wearing a white shirt and black pants, looking very handsome with his young and clean-cut face.
Charles, on the other hand, was wearing a black double-breasted suit with a white shirt and a red polka-dot tie, his tall and slender figure exuding a cold and powerful aura.
Both men were equally outstanding. They stood face to face.
Although Austin was only slightly shorter than Charles, in terms of experience and presence, Charles had the upper hand.
No matter how excellent and good-looking Austin was, in front of Charles, he was just a young man without a formal job.
Charles noticed the challenge in Austin's eyes, smiled, and calmly said, "Austin, what a coincidence!"
Austin replied smugly, "Not a coincidence. Hannah said she was coming on vacation and asked me to come along."
Hannah was puzzled.
Stella, "You two know each other?"
When Austin called out Charles' name, she was shocked.
Now, seeing Charles call out Austin's name, she was even more confused.
They actually knew each other? When did that happen?
Judging by their tone, they seemed pretty familiar.
Austin calmly said, "I might not have mentioned it before, but my dad is Carter, and my mom is Lassie."
Stella's jaw dropped.
"You're Carter's son?" She had no clue Austin was Carter's kid.
So, he was Violet's brother? That meant he and Charles were tight? This was bad.
Now, it was even more impossible for Charles and Hannah to be a thing.
With Charles' straight-laced character, even if he liked Hannah, he wouldn't go after her.
Austin grinned, "Yep! I just don't like to talk about personal stuff, so you never knew."
Stella was puzzled.
Austin casually put his hand on Hannah's shoulder, subtly flexing on Charles.
Austin said, "Charles, I heard from Hannah that she's interning at your company and that you've been looking out for her! I wanna thank you on her behalf!"
Charles' eyes flicked to the hand on Hannah's shoulder.
Charles asked, "Are you two a couple?"
Though it was a question, his tone was pretty certain.
Stella was completely desperate. She covered her face with her hands, thinking if she couldn't see it, she could avoid the situation.
Austin nodded, "Yep, Hannah's not just my girlfriend; she's my fiancée! We're getting hitched as soon as she turns twenty!"
Charles' smile froze for a moment, then came back, "Congrats!"
Stella tilted her head, peeking at Charles through her fingers, afraid he might do something rash in his shock.
To her surprise, Charles was way calmer than she had imagined.
Charles said, "When you get married, make sure to invite me."
Austin laughed, "Of course! I don't have many friends in the States, and besides Hannah, you're like family to me."
For the first time, he felt the taste of victory.
Before, he had always lived in Charles' shadow.
Violet's eyes were always on Charles.
Even after he took Violet away, he lived in constant fear of being discovered, and fear of his plan being exposed.
This was the first time he stood directly in front of Charles and told him that Hannah was his fiancée.
The feeling of winning over Charles was amazing.
Charles just smiled and didn't say anything more, his eyes distant, lost in thought.
Stella felt awkward.
She quickly spoke up to break the weird vibe, "Since my parents aren't coming, Austin, you can stay in their room. Hannah and I will share a room, and Charles, you can have a room to yourself."
"Alright!" Everyone agreed readily.
Stella had booked a villa.
The villa had two rooms on the second floor, one room on the third floor, and an open-air terrace.
Stella arranged for Charles and Austin to stay on the second floor, while she and Hannah would stay on the third floor with the terrace.
Austin thoughtfully carried Hannah's luggage upstairs.
As soon as he left, Stella pushed Hannah onto the sofa, angrily demanding, "Spill it! Why'd you suddenly bring him along? Why didn't you tell me last night?"
If she had known Austin was coming, she wouldn't have brought Charles.
The scene just now was terrifying.
It was too scary.
She didn't know if Charles would be mad and blame her for introducing a woman with a fiancé to him.
