Chapter 89 Patricia Rescued, Martin Confirms His Feelings!

Her voice sounded particularly clear in the quiet forest.

Martin, who was about to leave, abruptly stopped in his tracks, thinking it was a hallucination brought on by longing. He stood still, closed his eyes, perked up his ears, and listened carefully.

But upon closer listening, all he heard was the rustling of leaves blown by the wind, and no trace of Patricia's voice.

The hope that had just ignited within was instantly shattered.

Disappointed, Martin opened his eyes and prepared to search elsewhere. However, just as he took a step, he heard Patricia's voice again, calling out twice.

"Martin..."

"Martin..."

This time, he truly heard it, not an illusion, but Patricia's actual voice.

After confirming that Patricia was nearby, Martin quickly ran towards the depths of the forest, calling Alan on his phone at the same time to inform him of his location and request additional support.

With tears welling up in his eyes, Martin dared not make a sound, fearing it would drown out Patricia's voice. Instead, he waved the light from his phone, letting Patricia know that he was nearby, based on the direction of the light.

As the light drew closer, Patricia's tears flowed even more fiercely, as if she had glimpsed hope. Her voice unconsciously grew louder, "Martin, I'm here... here..."

Following the direction of her voice, Martin quickly locked on and ran as if possessed, his clothes and pants torn by thorns, blood trickling but oblivious.

His mind was consumed by one belief: finding Patricia.

After passing through the final thicket, he finally found the battered Patricia.

At that moment, seeing her, Martin, who had always been high and mighty, calm and noble, felt tears welling up in his eyes.

Trembling, he embraced her in his arms, gently rubbing his cheek against her forehead.

"I finally found you... finally..." Martin sobbed "I found you..."

The words were repeatedly murmured by thin lips.

Under the silver moonlight, there was a glimmer in the corners of his eyes.

After a tense day, his body finally relaxed in this moment. His arms tightened, as if wanting to embrace her into his heart.

No one knew how he had spent this day. Patricia's sudden disappearance broke his usual principles and unleashed his latent bloodlust.

If it weren't for the remaining shred of sanity constantly reminding him, he would have killed everyone involved long ago.

Only in this moment did he fully understand her importance to him.

He loved her. He couldn't lose her. He wanted to keep her by his side forever, at all costs.

He was foolish, why hadn't he realized his feelings for her earlier? They had missed five years because of it.

Patricia's injured hands tightly held onto his clothes, clutching onto her last hope. "Charles, find Charles, he's on the OMM freighter, she..."

Seeing her still concerned about that illegitimate child, Martin said in frustration, "You're already like this, why are you still thinking about him?"

Tears streamed down Patricia's face as she nestled into his embrace, crying in extreme sadness.

"Charles is my life, I can't lose Charles. If anything happens to him, I won't be able to live either. Please... please save Charles... you must save him..."

Martin's heart ached from her crying. He pressed her head against his chest, all his anger disappeared in an instant, leaving only helplessness and heartache.

"I promise you; I will find him..." His voice was soft, yet somehow comforting.

Patricia's cheek pressed against Martin's chest as she cried even harder, her tears dampening his clothes. She was filled with gratitude towards him. "Thank you, thank you..."

Her delicate body and sobbing voice made Martin's heart incredibly soft, like a sponge. It felt full and swollen, as if something was about to overflow.

Resting against his embrace, Patricia had never felt so secure as in this moment. Martin couldn't help but lower his head and kiss her forehead firmly.

This kiss contained all his emotions and promises.

"I'll take you back!" were the only words he could muster.

Martin picked her up, carrying her in his arms to prevent her from getting scratched by thorns. He held her body high above the thorny bushes.

Patricia looked up at the sky, her head becoming increasingly dizzy. The moon above started to blur, but she wanted to keep searching for Charles.

However, after struggling for a while, she couldn't hold on any longer. Her body went limp, completely unconscious.

Feeling her body go soft, Martin panicked and hurriedly checked her condition. He realized she had simply fainted and couldn't help but soften his gaze. He kissed her on the lips gently.

Just then, the rescue team arrived—

Half an hour later, Patricia was brought to the emergency room of Ivara City Hospital.

Martin paced anxiously outside the emergency room. Alan, seeing him covered in injuries, expressed concern.

"Boss, you're injured. Go and take care of your wound first! Otherwise, it might become infected and inflamed."

Martin waved dismissively, "It's no big deal."

Alan sighed inwardly and earnestly advised, "If Madam sees you like this, she will blame herself and feel guilty! Do you want her to worry?"

His words made Martin pause for a moment. After a brief thought, he went with Alan to the emergency room to be observed in the patient ward.

Fearful that Patricia wouldn't see him when she comes out of the emergency room, Martin urged the doctor incessantly.

The doctor was startled by his insistence, sweat dripping from his forehead as his hands trembled.

Unable to bear it any longer, Alan spoke up to distract Martin's attention, "Boss, Madam has been found. Can we send a helicopter to track C now?"

Martin looked impatient, "Now is not the time to track C. I promised Patricia to find Charles. How far along is the progress on satellite positioning?"

"...Not tracking C anymore? We finally traced some news about him, and now..." Alan felt unwilling.

For some reason, he felt there was something hidden in this matter. As for what exactly was hidden, he couldn't say.

But he had a strong feeling that finding C would solve all doubts.

Martin asserted firmly, "C is not the enemy. We won't look for him temporarily. Let's concentrate manpower on finding Charles! This is my promise to Patricia."

Seeing Martin's resolute attitude, Alan couldn't say anything more and replied.

"Because the ship smuggling Charles has crossed the Z country's border, it's a bit tricky to apply for satellite positioning. There are many procedures involved, and it may take some time."

Although the Langley family was the wealthiest in the Z country, things were not so easily done outside of it.

"Fine!" Martin didn't ask any further after learning about the progress.

Deep down, he strongly rejected Patricia's illegitimate child. Looking for him was only because of his promise to Patricia.

As for when and where to find him, and whether or not it's possible, that was beyond his control.
