Chapter 95 Charles is Your Twin Brother
After Martin left, Patricia was arranged to return to the hospital ward next to Randy's. Thinking about Charles all these days, she had neglected Randy.
She took a shower and changed into clean clothes before going to Randy's ward. Randy lay quietly on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, his thoughts unknown.
Patricia walked over and lay down beside him, instinctively trying to embrace him, but he moved away, turning his back to her.
"...?"
Patricia was taken aback, sensing Randy's abnormality, and quickly asked concernedly, "Randy, what's wrong? Are you in a bad mood? Tell Mommy, why are you feeling down?"
Randy remained silent, still facing away from her.
This time, Patricia realized that things seemed far more serious than she had imagined. Having recognized Randy for so long, he had never ignored her.
"Randy, did I do something to upset you? Tell me, if it's Mommy's fault, I will apologize to you."
Randy stood straight, his shoulders twitching, with faint sobbing sounds. Patricia sensed that something was wrong, so she turned him around by force.
Indeed, Randy's face was wet, his teeth tightly biting his lower lip, crying in sadness. Seeing his tears, Patricia's heart ached, and she wiped them away with a tissue.
"Randy, what's wrong? Why the tears? Are you upset with Mommy for her insensitive comments and not scheduling your surgery?"
Randy lowered his head, shook it silently, and his once bright eyes were now filled with darkness, devoid of any light.
Patricia was shocked by his appearance, holding his little face in her hands, she urgently said, "Randy, you’re scaring me now, quickly tell Mommy, what's wrong with you?"
Under Patricia's persistent questioning, Randy finally spoke, "Will you still care about me?"
His voice was lifeless, devoid of any vitality.
Patricia chuckled helplessly, "You are my son, how could I not care about you!? Randy, why would you suddenly say such a thing? Did I do something that’s making you feel this way?"
Randy grumbled unhappily, "You only have Charles in your heart, not me at all!"
Patricia was stunned by his words, "Charles is my son, and you are also my son. Both of you are my precious ones, how could I only like him and not you!? You are equally important to me."
Her words suddenly stirred up Randy's emotions.
"You're lying!"
Patricia hurriedly explained, "I am not lying, my love for both of you is the same."
With a disappointed gaze, tears forming in his eyes, Randy spoke, "If your love for us is genuine, why have you been absent all these years? You left me with Dad after giving birth and never came back. Do you realize how much I've missed you in these four years? Meanwhile, you were always with Charles. If you truly cared for me, you wouldn't have left after giving birth, only to start a family with someone else. Do you even remember me now that Charles had an accident? It seems like you've forgotten all about me."
Patricia didn't expect him to have such a deep misunderstanding, and she held him in her arms, gently patting his back to soothe his emotions.
"You have misunderstood my sweet boy! Mommy originally intended to take you away after giving birth to you. But at that time, you had a congenital condition, and I couldn't bear to separate you from your father. Randy, Mommy loves you, too.
Patricia continued to explain, she couldn’t bear to see her son in so much pain, “At that time I couldn’t treat your heart disease. Had I taken you with me, you might not have survived. You are my life. How could I watch you suffer? I was helpless and heartbroken, but I had no choice but to entrust you to your father. These past four years, I have been constantly worried about you, hoping to come back and see you. I have been studying medicine diligently, just so I can come back and personally cure you."
Randy wouldn't listen to her explanation at all.
"I'm not a three-year-old child, you can't deceive me! If you truly worried about me all the time, then how did you suddenly have Charles? He grew up by your side, you were always together. Of course, you like him more."
Patricia was at a loss for words, she didn't know how to make him understand.
She knew that Randy, because he didn't have a mother around when he was young, was particularly sensitive and prone to overthinking, lacking a sense of security.
If she allowed him to keep overthinking, it would probably cause even greater harm to his heart.
Seeing her remain silent, Randy, who had been suppressing his emotions for many days, completely exploded. He pushed Patricia away and jumped off the bed, swiping everything off the nightstand with a slap.
Teacups, vases, phones, everything fell to the ground. The teacups and vases instantly shattered.
Patricia was startled and tried to approach him, but Randy threw a pillow at her.
"Don't come near me, you liar! You are all liars! Besides dad, none of you genuinely love me. Debbie used me, grandma dislikes me, and you abandoned me! I hate all of you... I don't want to see you again, just go... go..."
As he shouted, tears streamed down his face.
"Randy..."
Tears of pain welled up in Patricia's eyes. Randy continued smashing everything within reach.
In just a short moment, the hospital room became a mess.
The nurses were too scared to come in, and even the bodyguards were driven out by Randy.
Once everything in the room was smashed, Randy hunched down on the floor, curling up his small body, holding his head in his hands, his face filled with anguish.
"If you all don't love me, then why did you give birth to me? I would rather you didn't give birth to me..."
His whispered words set off alarm bells in Patricia's mind.
She knew that she couldn't hide the truth anymore. If she continued to conceal it, Randy would likely suffer even greater harm.
She couldn't let her own selfishness hurt Randy. Step by step, she cautiously approached Randy.
When he noticed her getting closer, Randy picked up a broken piece of glass and threw it at her.
"Go away, I don't want to see you, I hate you..."
Patricia's heart felt a sharp pang, and she choked, "Randy," you have really misunderstood everything, "Charles is not a child of mine and another man; he is your biological brother."
Randy couldn't grasp the underlying meaning in her words and sneered, "He's younger than me, how can he be my brother?"
Knowing that he misunderstood, Patricia added, "He is your twin brother. Mommy gave birth to twins, I didn't go and have a child with another man as soon as I left you."
The sudden truth made Randy stop crying and look at her in shock, with tears still clinging to his lashes.
"My twin brother?"
Patricia nodded vigorously. "Yes, your twin brother. He was born ten minutes before you."
"Heh..." Randy obviously didn't believe it, scoffing, "Are you also going to tell me that we're fraternal twins and don't look alike?"
"......?"
Randy sarcastically said, "Mommy, do you think I'm stupid?"
Patricia quickly responded, "No, you're not stupid, not at all! He really is your twin brother, and you look exactly the same! If you don't believe me, you'll see once your dad brings him back."
Then, she remembered something and added, "Actually, you've already met him before."
Randy thought carefully, but he couldn't remember, furrowing his little brows. "When did I meet him? Why don't I remember at all?"
Patricia smiled and asked, "Do you remember Aunt Jade?"
Randy nodded firmly.
Patricia continued, "Do you remember her son? The little boy who was wearing a hat, a mask, and sunglasses, and was with Fannie at that time."
Randy nodded again, then realized something and widened his eyes in disbelief.
