Chapter 1063 Are Austin and Tina classmates?

Charles's eyes narrowed, his thin lips pressed into a line, and he slowly uttered a word. "Speak!"

Wyatt reported the information he had found to Charles truthfully. "It turns out Tina and Austin were college classmates. They were both in the youth program at D University, but they majored in different fields. Austin was in the Chemistry Department, and Tina was in the Psychology Department."

Charles frowned and asked, "So, even though they were both in the youth program, they weren't in the same class in college?"

Wyatt continued, "Yes! D University only has youth programs in the Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry departments, and each class only admits twenty students. Tina is a year younger than Austin and got into the Chemistry youth program with the second-highest score in her major."

"However, after one semester, she transferred to the Psychology Department. The Psychology Department doesn't have a youth program, so she was in the same class as students three years older than her."

Charles's eyes grew colder. So, Austin and Tina did know each other before. But they never mentioned it. This was enough to prove that there was definitely some unspeakable secret between them.

Just as this thought crossed his mind, he heard Wyatt say, "However, I specifically investigated, and they had no interactions while they were in school. Austin was always a loner, not just with Tina but with other classmates as well."

"It wasn't until he joined a professor's lab at D University that he started interacting with his lab mates. Most of his dorm mates were also from the same lab. Austin was famously reclusive at D University, so much so that everyone gave him the nickname 'the aloof guy.'"

Charles's expression darkened. "Are you sure they had no interactions in private?"

"I'm sure! I checked both Austin and Tina's phone contacts and text messages from that time and confirmed they had no interactions. I also asked their classmates and teachers. Their personalities were very similar; both were loners and very reclusive."

"Moreover, the students in the youth program were all geniuses. They didn't like socializing and didn't get along with the teachers, so they didn't have much presence in the class. The only reason we can still find information about them now is that they got in with the top scores in their majors, so everyone still remembers them."

"Additionally, Austin is now a prominent figure in D University's Chemistry Department, and Tina has become a world-renowned psychology professor. So, people still have an impression of them."

Charles stared blankly at the steps in front of him.

Seeing that he wasn't speaking, Wyatt tentatively called out, "Mr. Watson? Are you listening to me?"

After a moment, Charles curled his lips into a mocking smile and said, "Wyatt, do you think it's possible for twenty students in a class not to know each other at all?"

This question stumped Wyatt. "Well, I think it's not impossible! But it still depends on the person's personality. I don't know Tina, but I've interacted with Austin a few times. Given his personality from childhood, it's not impossible! I guess he might not even know all the students in his current class."

Charles's mind involuntarily conjured up Tina's face. Although he had known Tina for a long time because of Violet, every time he took Violet for psychological treatment, it was Tina's assistant who took Violet to the treatment room.

On the few occasions he asked about Violet's recovery, Tina was all business, only answering professional questions without a single extra word.

Later, Tina was put in a detention center. That proud, fearless demeanor was indeed as Wyatt had described.

Given Tina's personality and the fact that she only stayed in the youth program for one semester, it made sense that she didn't know Austin or didn't care to know him.

Seeing that Charles was silent again, Wyatt continued, "Tina was academically outstanding. She completed all her courses in three years and graduated with a Ph.D. as the top student in her major. The same year, she became a globally renowned psychology expert. During her three years at school, she never had a boyfriend or even ordinary friends; she was always a loner."

"After entering society, she still has no friends to this day. And she only treats patients based on her mood! If she doesn't want to treat someone, no amount of money will change her mind."

"She's famously arrogant in the field, but because of her exceptional abilities, no one dares to say anything against her, and she still holds a high position. Even Dr. Lake, who is highly respected in their field, praises her abilities."

"I asked Dr. Lake, and he said that Tina's hypnosis is so advanced that no one can undo it except Tina herself, including him."

Wyatt's words made Charles's face darken completely. In other words, Tina would always hold this leverage over him. As long as Tina was unwilling, Hannah would never recover.

Charles's temples throbbed, and he gritted his teeth, asking, "Does she have any family?" Maybe he could start with her family.

Wyatt replied, "No, she's an orphan and grew up in an orphanage! I heard that because of her personality, she was long-term bullied by other kids in the orphanage. Even the teachers didn't like her."

"Only the orphanage director took care of her after learning about the bullying. If there's anyone close to her, it would be the director. So she worked harder than most people from a young age and climbed to her current position through her own efforts."

Charles thought he had misheard. He actually detected a hint of admiration in Wyatt's words.

And rightly so. Tina's life story was indeed inspirational, enough to write a book about. Not everyone could rise to such heights from adversity like Tina did.

If she weren't so morally corrupt and hadn't kidnapped Hannah, she would still be a highly praised psychology professor.

"Where is the orphanage director now?" Maybe the director was the breakthrough point.

Wyatt hesitated for a moment before replying dejectedly, "The director passed away three years ago."

Charles fell silent. Damn. The usually composed Charles couldn't help but curse inwardly for the first time.

So now they were completely out of options with Tina, weren't they? They hadn't found a single useful lead. The only person who might have been helpful, the orphanage director, was dead. So he was completely out of moves against Tina, wasn't he?
