Chapter 758 Successfully Turning Danger into Safety
The evidence Isadora provided was solid, and both he and Miles got convicted.
Riley quickly held a press conference, laying out the whole story and showing all the proof of their scheme.
Stock prices started bouncing back.
Virtual Sparkle Group got shut down for plagiarism and had to pay a hefty compensation to the Koch Group.
The Koch Group's reputation was restored.
No one could believe the real truth. It arouse a heated discussion in the comment section.
33rd Floor: [Wait, so it wasn't the Koch Group copying Virtual Sparkle, but the other way around?]
101st Floor: [You gotta dig deep before pointing fingers!]
323rd Floor: [Miles is the worst! Picking the right partner is crucial. This is a classic case of leading a wolf into your home!]
609th Floor: [Sorry for my past comments! To apologize, I'll definitely buy the Koch Group's new jewelry when it launches out.]
777th Floor: [After all this, can they still launch new products smoothly?]
902nd Floor replied to 777th Floor: [Big companies like the Koch Group can handle it. Let's just wait for the new launch!]
Riley and Sebastian were keeping eyes on online chatter.
Seeing these comments, Riley's face grew more serious.
Despite Miles and Isadora's arrest, he wasn't celebrating.
Riley said, "The new products were supposed to launch in the middle of next month! But after the plagiarism mess, everything stopped! Even though we proved Virtual Sparkle stole our designs, they already used them, so we can't."
Netizens were still eagerly waiting for new products.
The Koch Group was known for its integrity.
Delaying the launch would hurt their reputation and invite mockery from competitors.
Even though they turned the crisis around, the incident caused huge losses to the company.
Sebastian asked, "Can't the design team come up with good works?"
Riley frowned and shook his head, "I already told them to work overtime on new designs, but the notice was too sudden. They have no preparation for this. I've reviewed their work, and none of it measures up to what Virtual Sparkle stole."
The product is the company's reputation.
They can't launch subpar products.
Sebastian suggested, "How about delaying the launch? People know about the incident. They should understand."
Riley shook his head again, "A promise is a promise. We set the date, so we have to keep it! Otherwise, our reputation takes a hit."
Sebastian asked in worry, "So what do we do? We have less than a month."
Riley leaned back, staring at his desk.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Thinking it was his assistant Joshua, Riley said, "Come in!"
The door opened, and Martin and Patricia walked in.
Riley straightened up, surprised. "Why are you here? Why didn't you say anything?"
Patricia placed a brown file folder in front of Riley, "Riley, check these out. Are they good for you?"
Riley opened the folder, eyes widening at the design drafts inside. Riley asked, "This?"
Patricia explained, "I designed these a while ago. They were meant for the company, but with everything that happened, they got left in my study. After the whole Koch Group's mess, I figured you might need these, so I brought them along. I've been refining them over the past few days. They might not match the Koch Group's style this season, but given the special situation, I think it's acceptable to change the style a little bit. It's better than having nothing!"
Riley flipped through the designs, getting more excited with each page. A smile spread across his face.
Riley said, "These are great! Really great! Even if they’re not our usual style, you're right. We need to be flexible in tough times!"
Patricia smiled, "I know integrity is the key in business. Since we promised a launch date, we have to keep it! Virtual Sparkle Group not only stole our upcoming products but also our backup plans! It takes a long time to go from design to market, and finding suitable replacements quickly is tough. So, I brought these, hoping they might help."
She knew this day would come.
She knew Shane and Riley too well.
Even in a tough time, they wouldn't let the Koch Group's reputation get damaged.
Now that they'd cleared their name, the public felt guilty for the misunderstanding, and the new products would likely break sales records.
This was an opportunity they couldn't miss.
Riley made a quick decision, "We'll use yours! I'm very satisfied! I believe everyone will love them too!"
He handed the designs to Joshua, "Take these to the factory personally. Have them work day and night, and supervise the process yourself. Make sure nothing goes wrong."
Joshua smiled, taking the designs, "I'll oversee it personally! No more accidents."
Patricia asked, "Do they need any modifications?"
Riley shook his head, "No need! They're great as they are. I trust you and your work."
Patricia was happy to help the Koch Group.
Although Ariel had decided to keep the child, she was still sad because of Miles. Her hidden sorrow was heartbreaking.
To resolve things with Miles, Patricia went with Ariel to the prison and handed Miles the divorce papers.
Miles shamelessly refused to sign, so they had to go through legal proceedings.
Due to the severity of Miles's actions, the court granted the divorce.
Standing outside the courthouse, Ariel looked up at the sky. Snow began to fall.
She raised her hand, and the snowflakes melted in her palm.
Watching the snow, Patricia sighed, "It's snowing."
Ariel smiled bitterly, "Yeah, it's snowing."
She added, "The day Miles and I first met, it was also the first snow."
The snow came suddenly, without a report.
Even God seemed to be hinting that her relationship with Miles was over.
That’s good! From now on, Ariel would raise the child alone. The child didn't need a father like Miles.
Patricia looked at Ariel, feeling heartbroken.
Patricia said, "Even without a husband, you still have me, Shane, and your brothers! We're always a family!"
Ariel smiled, her eyes slightly red, "Yes! We're always a family!"
The Koch family's spy was caught, Gabriel was dead, and things had temporarily settled. Patricia was happy, and since it was snowing, she arranged a family meal.
Brooke, after being used by Miles, saw the truth and sincerely apologized to Patricia. After receiving Patricia's forgiveness, her resentment towards Riley and Patricia faded.
The family gathered around the table, happily dining together. Patricia even took photos and sent them to Shane, sharing their joy. Everyone ate, drank, played, and laughed, feeling relaxed and happy.
Unfortunately, this happiness didn't last long before it was interrupted by a phone call.
