Chapter 1100 Anything Goes

Violet looked at Lassie with a sinister expression, her red lips curling slightly. "Since Hannah is so perfect, why don't you go find her and make her your daughter? Why bother with me?"

Lassie didn't have time to explain before Violet suddenly feigned a look of realization. "I get it now. You don't have that kind of luck. You're destined to have a daughter like me, while Hannah can only be someone else's daughter! We share the same blood. Doesn't that mean we're actually the same kind of person?"

Lassie felt the world spinning around her, nearly collapsing.

Violet gave Lassie a cold sneer, then got into her car without looking back and drove away.

Watching the car disappear into the distance, Lassie couldn't hold back her tears any longer. How could she have given birth to such a malicious daughter?

Just now, she clearly saw the intent to kill in Violet's eyes. Violet wanted to kill her own mother. This realization sent chills down Lassie's spine.

Violet had calculated that Lassie couldn't bear to part with her, which was why she dared to hurt them so recklessly, time and time again.

What should she do? If she completely ignored Violet, she feared Violet would harm others. If she tried to control Violet, she knew she couldn't manage her. Lassie squatted down and cried in despair.

She didn't know how long she had been crying when her phone suddenly rang. She wiped away her tears and looked at the caller ID. The call was from Patricia.

Why would Patricia call her at this time? Thinking about Violet's unusual behavior just now and looking at the name flashing on her phone, a sense of unease rose in Lassie's heart.

She answered the call with trembling hands, taking a deep breath. "Patricia!" She tried hard to make her voice sound normal.

But Patricia immediately sensed something was wrong. "Are you crying? What happened? Did something happen to Carter?"

Lassie shook her head desperately, not answering her question directly, but instead asked, "I'm fine. Why are you calling me?"

Although Patricia was very worried about Lassie, she knew that some things were more urgent. Now was not the time to be concerned about Lassie, so she asked, "Where is Violet right now?"

Lassie's heart skipped a beat, and the unease in her heart grew stronger. "What happened? Did she cause trouble again?"

Patricia paused and then said in a serious tone, "She just hit Hannah with her car at the entrance of Sunshine Manor and then fled the scene! Hannah is now in the emergency room, and her condition is very critical."

Hearing Patricia's words, Lassie felt her body go weak, and she collapsed to the ground.

Lassie couldn't believe what she had heard. She asked again in a trembling voice, "She hit Hannah with her car?"

"Yes! She did it!"

Tears fell silently, and Lassie refused to believe it. "Could there be some misunderstanding? How could she do such a thing?"

Patricia said, "There's no mistake! There's surveillance at the entrance of Sunshine Manor. I recognize that car; it's the one you bought for Violet, and the license plate matches exactly!"

Lassie was stunned, feeling an unprecedented sense of helplessness envelop her.

Although she kept denying it and telling herself it wasn't true, Violet's suspicious behavior just now confirmed Patricia's words.

Moreover, the Langley family wouldn't falsely accuse Violet. So, did Violet really hit Hannah with her car?

Lassie was filled with regret. She hated herself for being soft-hearted and releasing Violet from the psychiatric hospital.

She hated herself for not keeping a close watch on Violet, allowing her to run out and hit Hannah. She hated herself for letting Violet leave just now.

She hated herself even more for giving birth to such a malicious daughter. It was all her fault. It was her repeated softness that led to this irreparable situation.

From the moment Violet colluded with others to kidnap Hannah and then impersonated Hannah to get engaged to Charles, she should have sent Violet back to the psychiatric hospital. She shouldn't have let Violet stay here and continue doing bad things.

Hearing no sound on the other end of the line, Patricia thought something had happened and quickly said, "Lassie, are you okay? Did something happen at home?"

After a long while, Lassie found her voice, trembling as she spoke, "Violet just came back to pack her things and has already driven away."

"What? She left?"

Lassie was crying so hard that she could barely speak. "I'm sorry, I didn't know she hit Hannah with her car, otherwise I would never have let her leave! I didn't expect her to do something so insane."

Lassie only knew something had happened, but she didn't know it was this serious.

Patricia immediately asked, "Do you know where she went?"

Lassie shook her head desperately, tears flying. "I don't know! I know something must have happened, which is why she wanted to leave. I tried to stop her, but I couldn't! She drove away in the car we bought for her."

"Okay! I understand! I won't talk to you much now! I need to have Alan intercept her in the city! Otherwise, she'll definitely escape. What she did this time is too much, and we can't let her get away with it."

Lassie nodded vigorously. "This time she really went too far. Whatever you do to her, I won't have any objections! I'll just pretend I never had this daughter."

In Lassie's words, Patricia sensed an unprecedented determination and disappointment. It seemed that Lassie had completely given up hope on Violet. "With your words, I know what to do."

After ending the call, Lassie sat on the ground, lost in thought, her mind filled with the image of Hannah in the emergency room, fighting for her life.

She didn't even realize that her concern for Hannah had long surpassed that for her own daughter, Violet.

After sitting for an unknown amount of time, she finally regained some strength. She stood up, stumbled back into the house, grabbed her car keys, and drove to the hospital.

Outside the emergency room, Randy and Stella were already there! Fannie was filming and didn't know what had happened at home, so she wasn't there.

Maria was on a business trip abroad. Declan had returned to school. Only Randy and Stella, who had stayed home because of Hannah, were there.

Stella, who had been out with Randy to choose a piano, rushed over as soon as she heard about Hannah's accident. Watching the blood bags being sent in one after another, she leaned against Randy, crying uncontrollably.

"That damn Violet, why doesn't she just die? If anything happens to Hannah, I'll kill her myself. It's all my fault. Why did I go to buy a piano? Why didn't I stay home with her?"

"Last time, because I wasn't with her, she was switched by Violet. This time, because I wasn't with her, she got hit by Violet's car! Why don't I ever learn my lesson? Why can't I protect her every time?"

Randy gently comforted her, "This isn't your fault. Even if you were home, it could have been both of you who got hurt."

Stella continued to cry. Besides crying, she didn't know how else to vent her fear.
