Chapter 714 Riley Knew he was Being Bugged

Patricia realized that if this continued, not only would she fail to gather any useful information, but she might also be infuriated by him.

After some thought, she decided to approach the topic from a different angle to achieve her goal.

"Hunter, you weren't like this before! You loved me, protected me, and always showed up when I needed you. I really admired you in the past."

Faced with Patricia's sudden friendliness, Hunter showed no reaction, only curling his lips in mockery. He retorted, "Really?"

Patricia was puzzled by Hunter's reaction.

Hunter continued, "Don't waste your efforts! It's useless!"

In other words, no matter what she said, he wouldn't believe her.

Patricia was angry.

He was truly impervious to reason!

Nothing she said worked.

Just when Patricia thought this attempt would be fruitless, Hunter spoke up, "If you had even a bit of gratitude for our childhood, things wouldn't have come to this."

Patricia was speechless.

She said, "Even now, do you still think it's someone else's fault? You never look for the reason within yourself."

Hunter snorted coldly. "Reason? What reason?"

Patricia angrily retorted, "Being abandoned by everyone, isn't that your problem? Even if I wronged you, haven't you wronged others? Although I don't like Charlotte, she truly loved you and even gave up her family for you. What about you? You never reciprocated her feelings."

Hunter disdainfully replied, "That's her own delusion. She willingly helped me; she brought it upon herself."

Patricia suddenly stood up, retorted, "Aren't you also delusional? I never said I liked you! You've done so many wrong things, and now you're suffering the consequences of your own actions."

Hunter still wore that disdainful expression.

He said, "Her feelings are not worthy of being compared to mine."

Patricia decided not to continue talking to Hunter.

"Since you are obstinate and unyielding, then I have no way! You have done so many wrongs, there will be retribution one day."

After saying this, she turned to leave but, unwilling to give up, stopped and said without turning back, "You really don't want to tell the truth? If you tell the truth, I will do my best to save your life."

Hunter did not respond.

Hunter's silence was undoubtedly an answer for Patricia.

Patricia knew that trying to get anything out of Hunter was impossible.

Hunter was simply invincible.

No matter what method she used, it was impossible to pry open Hunter's mouth.

Patricia decided not to waste any more time. She walked to the door, lowered her head, discreetly took out her phone, opened an app, and checked to see if there were any surveillance cameras installed in the wine cellar.

As soon as she opened it, she was shocked.

There were indeed surveillance cameras in the wine cellar.

Patricia quickly put her phone back in her pocket. After leaving the wine cellar, she immediately found Martin and told him about it. They discussed and decided to find Riley.

Maybe the surveillance cameras in the wine cellar were installed by the Koch family.

Riley should know best where the Koch family had surveillance cameras.

At this moment, Riley was at the company. Talking at home wasn't convenient, and they didn't know where else there might be bugs and surveillance cameras. The company, on the other hand, was the best place for this.

After discussing with Martin, Patricia drove to the company. On the way, she sent a message to Riley.

Upon arriving at the company, Riley had his assistant wait for them at the entrance and took them directly to the top-floor CEO's office via the executive elevator.

At that moment, Riley had just finished an international meeting and was verifying the meeting minutes with his secretary.

The minutes included not only Riley's statements but also those of all the senior executives.

After Patricia and Martin arrived, Riley assigned the task to his assistant and secretary to verify the minutes.

Riley personally poured them a cup of coffee and asked with a smile, "What's going on? Why are you here in such a hurry?"

Patricia, still shaken by Hunter, felt like there were surveillance cameras everywhere. Before speaking, she took out her phone and checked the office.

Riley asked puzzledly, "What are you doing?"

Patricia explained, "This checks for surveillance cameras! If there are any nearby, it will show a red dot."

Riley laughed. "Of course, there are surveillance cameras in my office!"

Although he said this, he didn't stop her.

Indeed, there was a surveillance camera installed on the left wall of the office, covering the most important area. No other cameras were found, meaning the place was safe.

Riley explained, "The company's security system is very strict! The executive elevator only operates when I use it; at any other time, it doesn't run! The other elevator can't reach the top floor. The stairway is also blocked. Security guards are on duty every night on each floor! Plus, with the CEO's office on the top floor, it's impossible for anyone to sneak in and install surveillance cameras unless they have some extraordinary abilities."

Patricia said, "Do you know that your phone was remotely bugged?"

This was something Charles had handled very discreetly. Patricia hadn't found the opportunity to tell Riley.

Riley's eyes widened in disbelief. "My phone was bugged? Why didn't I know anything about it?"

Riley's phone had several layers of firewalls. Installing surveillance was nearly impossible.

Patricia nodded and explained the whole situation to Riley.

After listening, Riley was momentarily speechless. He had so much to say but didn't know where to start. Finally, he could only say, "Charles is really impressive."

Patricia asked, "So, is there surveillance installed in the wine cellar?"

Riley confidently replied, "No! The wine cellar has been there for a long time. After the house was rebuilt, many places had surveillance installed, but the wine cellar never did!"

"Moreover, back in my great-grandfather's time, our family ran a winery. But by Shane's generation, it was no longer in operation! The wine cellar was left from that time."

"We hardly ever go there, and it only stores some of Shane's treasured collections!"

Patricia broke out in a cold sweat.

She asked, "So, the surveillance in the wine cellar was installed later?"

When?

Could it have been after Hunter was locked in the wine cellar?

If so, all their actions had been monitored without their knowledge.

This was terrifying.

What kind of person could have such capabilities?

Riley countered, "Hunter must have an accomplice! Who could it be? Does he have someone so capable by his side?"

Hunter was already troublesome enough. Now there was another troublemaker.

Martin said gravely, "I'm afraid it's not just the wine cellar; the entire Koch family might be under his control! If we don't find this person, we'll be in danger at any moment."
