Chapter 723 The Spy's Betrayal

Martin grinned, "You really wanna know?"

Sebastian nodded eagerly, "Absolutely! If you tell me, I can help out too."

Martin thought for a moment, then said mysteriously, "I'll tell you, but you can't spread it around. The fewer people know, the better."

Sebastian gave Martin an "OK" gesture, "Don't worry. I'll keep it secret!"

Only then did Martin slowly reveal, "I put a tracker on Hunter."

Sebastian's eyes widened in disbelief, "A tracker? When did this happen? How come I didn't know? If you put it on him, won't he find out?"

Martin replied, "I did it yesterday. I had someone slip a sedative into Hunter's food. When he fell asleep, I brought in a doctor to seal the tracker in one of his wounds."

"He has a lot of wounds from before. I found the deepest one and stitched the tracker inside."

Sebastian understood and smiled knowingly, "I get it! It's a micro-tracker, right?"

Martin nodded seriously, "Hunter's very cunning. If the tracker wasn't sealed in his wound, he'd definitely find it."

Sebastian suddenly realized, "No wonder you told the bodyguards to go easy! You're playing the long game!"

Martin smiled and said seriously, "Sebastian, only you and I know about this. Don't let a third person find out."

Sebastian made a zipping motion over his mouth, "Don't worry, I won't say a word."

Martin laughed, "Of course, I trust you, Sebastian! Now, go ahead and instruct your men to make a big scene. Let them think they've really escaped."

Sebastian gave him another "OK" gesture, "Don't worry, leave it to me!"

Martin patted him on the shoulder, and the two of them left together.

Little did they know, after they disappeared, someone stood up from the flower bushes, squinting in the direction they left.

What a clever diversion.

He had underestimated Martin!

If he hadn't overheard their conversation, Martin's plan would have worked.

He had to inform Hunter immediately.

After shaking off the pursuers, Hunter was taken by his accomplices to a secluded but serene house.

The first thing Hunter did after entering was strip off his dirty clothes, grab the clean ones his accomplices had prepared, and take a shower before putting on the fresh clothes.

There were originally two guys.

One had gone out to gather information.

The other stayed in the house, and when Hunter came out, handed him a cup of instant noodles. They sat at the table, eating together.

Rock Adams, while eating, said, "There's a first aid kit under the TV cabinet. I'll treat your wounds later."

Hunter nodded without speaking.

After finishing the noodles, Rock took out the first aid kit from under the TV cabinet and placed it on the table.

Hunter took off his shirt, revealing his body covered in wounds.

There were not only knife wounds but also bruises from punches.

Rock picked up a cotton ball soaked in iodine and began to clean Hunter's wounds.

As soon as his skin contacted with iodine, Hunter gasped in pain, beads of sweat  on his forehead.

Rock said with a grim face, "Bear it!"

Hunter nodded, gritting his teeth tightly.

The first few knife wounds were barely tolerable, but when Rock got to the one on Hunter's arm, the pain was so intense that his eyes grew dim, and he nearly passed out.

His forehead beaned on a big sweat.

Little veins were popping out of his forehead.

He thought, 'This really hurts.'

Rock glanced at the wound, "Looks infected, a bit swollen. I'll clean it up and apply some antibiotics. It should be fine in a couple of days."

As Rock cleaned the wound, Hunter closed his eyes tightly, pressing his fist against his mouth to keep silent.

Just as Rock was about to bandage it, Hunter's phone rang.

Glancing at the caller ID, Hunter took several deep breaths and gave Rock a look.

Rock answered the call, put it on speaker, and placed it on the table.

A voice, altered by a voice changer, came from the other end, "Did you get out?"

Hunter, enduring the pain, said with difficulty, "Temporarily safe. What do you want? I told you, unless absolutely necessary, we shouldn't contact each other."

The other person said, "I overheard Martin and Sebastian talking. They deliberately let Rock rescue you so as to capture you all together."

Hunter sneered, "Just him?"

His tone was full of disdain.

He thought, 'They had already escaped, hadn't they? What made Martin think he could capture them all? Strength isn't something you can just talk about.'

Knowing that Hunter was very confident, somewhat arrogant, the other person became more anxious and worried Hunter would fall into the trap.

"Martin had someone put a sedative in your food yesterday, and then they implanted a tracker in your wound! He knows your every move."

Hunter frowned, "A tracker?"

The other person was very certain, "Yes, a tracker! You can check your wound! I heard them say it. There's no mistake."

"Got it! Stay in touch!"

With that, Hunter hung up the phone irritably and looked at Rock.

Rock had heard the entire conversation. When the other person mentioned that Martin had implanted a tracker in Hunter's wound, his eyes scanned all of Hunter's wounds, finally settling on the last one he had treated.

"It's here!" his tone was very certain.

Hunter's face changed instantly.

"Damn Martin. He actually put a tracker in my wound!"

Hunter thought, ‘No wonder this wound hurt so much.’

The other wounds hurt, but they were bearable.

Only this one almost made him pass out from the pain.

Rock took a sharp knife from the first aid kit and carefully cleaned it with alcohol.

"I have to open up your wound. It's going to hurt a lot. Bear with it."

Hunter's face turned pale.

He almost passed out from the pain of disinfection and cleaning earlier, and now he was really afraid of cutting it open directly.

No matter how Martin had tortured him before, he never made a sound.

He didn't cry out in pain, not because it didn't hurt, but partly because he didn't want to show weakness in front of his rival, and more importantly, because he felt betrayed by Patricia and didn't want to live anymore. Might as well have stayed dead.

Now, he survived and felt all the pain in double.

While Hunter was lost in thought, a sharp pain shot through his arm.

Before Hunter could react, Rock had already cut open the wound on his arm.

The flesh inside was all exposed.

A lot of blood gushed out.
