Chapter 845: Watching the Sunrise Together

The next day, before the crack of dawn, Hannah was up.

She grabbed her phone from the nightstand to check the time.

It was just five o'clock.

She gently nudged the still-snoozing Stella and whispered, "Stella, wake up. Didn't you say you wanted to catch the sunrise? Time to get up."

But no matter how much she called, Stella stayed dead to the world.

Annoyed by the calling, Stella pushed her away, covering her ears with both hands, "So noisy, go away. I wanna sleep. Don't bug me."

After that, she turned over, hugged the blanket, and knocked out again.

Hannah sighed inwardly. Looked like Stella wasn't getting up.

But after all that fuss, Hannah wasn't sleepy anymore! So, she decided to go see the sunrise solo.

After making up her mind, she slowly got out of bed, slipped on her shoes, grabbed a blanket, and quietly dipped out of the room.

She didn't know that the sound of her closing the door woke up Charles. He sat up alertly and glanced at the room, noticing that one person was missing from the bed. He then looked at the tightly closed door.

After hesitating for a moment, he got up from the floor and left as well.

Meanwhile, Stella and Austin were still out cold.

Stella was beat. And Austin had hit the sack way too late.

When Hannah reached the hilltop to watch the sunrise, everyone else was still snoozing. The surroundings were quiet, with only the sounds of bugs and birds.

She found a good spot to sit and wrapped herself tightly in the blanket.

She also wanted to sleep.

But since she was already there, she naturally wanted to see the sunrise; otherwise, it would be a bummer for the trip.

Just as she was lost in thought, someone suddenly plopped down beside her.

Hannah was startled and almost jumped out of her skin.

Charles laughed, "Am I that scary?"

Hannah looked closely and realized it was Charles. She let out a big sigh of relief.

Hannah questioned, "What are you doing? You almost scared me to death! Do you walk without making any noise?"

Charles teased, "It's not that I walk without making noise; it's that you were too deep in thought."

Hannah didn't want to argue with him about this. She glanced in the direction he came from and asked, "Why are you awake too? I thought I was the only one watching the sunrise!"

Charles adjusted his sitting position, "It's a rare chance. It'd be a shame to miss it, right?"

Hannah nodded vigorously and smiled at him, "Yeah, I think so too! Since we're here, right?"

Looking at her eyes, which were brighter than the stars in the night sky, Charles was momentarily dazed.

Seeing that he was dressed lightly, Hannah considerately shared half of her blanket with him, "It's cold on the mountain top. Don't catch a cold! I only have one blanket, so let's share it."

Charles didn't refuse and pulled the blanket tightly to prevent it from slipping.

The two of them sat shoulder to shoulder like that.

Time ticked by.

People sleeping in tents also gradually woke up and started looking for spots to watch the sunrise, making the surroundings lively.

It was summer. The sun rose early.

Soon, they saw the sun slowly rising from the horizon, like a new moon.

Hannah excitedly grabbed Charles's arm, "Mr. Watson, look, look. The sun is rising. The sun is rising. It's so beautiful."

The first rays of dawn fell on Hannah, giving her a silver-white glow.

Charles was mesmerized and didn't even look at the sunrise. He kept staring at her face and said sincerely, "Yeah, it's beautiful."

Hannah thought he was talking about the sunrise and blushed with excitement.

Hannah, all excited, said, "Yeah, it's really beautiful, just like the sunset!"

Charles kept his eyes glued to her profile.

Even though she wasn't drop-dead gorgeous, her features were well-balanced, with big, round eyes, a nose that wasn't as high as his but very gentle, and lips like pink cherries.

If Violet hadn't gone missing, she would probably look similar to her now!

Hannah was so into watching the sunrise that she didn't notice his intense gaze.

She didn't notice, but Austin did.

When Austin woke up earlier and found that Charles and Hannah were gone, he immediately followed.

What he saw was the last thing he wanted to see.

Charles and Hannah were tightly leaning against each other, while Hannah watched the sunrise, and Charles watched Hannah.

Although Charles had his back to him, and he couldn't see Charles's expression, he had a gut feeling that Charles's gaze at Hannah was definitely affectionate.

In his mind, he could even picture Charles's gaze at Hannah.

Austin glared at Charles and Hannah, his hands slowly clenching into fists.

Hannah said she wanted to marry him, that she liked him, but she was always ambiguous with Charles.

She had clearly said they should keep their distance, but not only did they go camping together, they also watched the sunrise together.

Charles was the same. Yesterday, he had blessed them, telling him to treat Hannah well, but now he was competing with him for her.

Charles and Hannah were deliberately treating him like a fool.

He knew he should go over and separate Charles and Hannah, then scold them! But he did nothing. He turned around and went back to the room silently, trying to keep his cool.

Back in the room, he lay back on the sofa as if nothing had happened.

While Hannah hadn't returned, he almost counted the time.

He counted for a long time, so long that he lost track of the numbers. Finally, Charles and Hannah returned.

They seemed to be in a good mood, even carrying breakfast.

Hannah, while setting the breakfast on the coffee table, said, "Stop sleeping, get up and have breakfast. After we eat, we'll head down the mountain."

Austin opened his eyes but stayed put.

Stella, maybe having slept enough or maybe because Hannah's voice was too loud, groggily opened her eyes.

Stella asked, "What time is it?"

As soon as she spoke, she noticed the room was very bright. She remembered something and suddenly sat up in bed.

Stella was surprised, "Is it daylight?"

Hannah found it amusing, "Yeah, it's daylight! Hurry up and wash up, then come have breakfast!"

Despite what she said, Stella still couldn't believe it. She walked to the window, opened it, and looked outside.

Seeing the sun overhead, she was devastated.

Stella shouted, "My sunrise, how did I oversleep! I told you we shouldn't sleep at the hotel! I really overslept. How could I forget to set an alarm last night! If I had set an alarm, I definitely would have seen it."

After setting the breakfast, Hannah pushed her towards the bathroom.

Hannah comforted, "Alright, you can come next time! Next time, I'll come with you. We'll prepare in advance so we won't miss it!"

Stella turned around, unwilling to give up, "Did you go see it?"

Hannah was full of energy and she must have woken up early.

Hannah didn't answer, just kept smiling.

Hannah felt sweet and happy in her heart when she thought that she and Charles watched the sunrise together in one blanket.
