Chapter 1039 Hannah Is Missing Again
Austin turned around and saw that Tina hadn't finished hypnotizing Carter yet.
Seeing Martin and Ryan getting closer, he knew he was done for if they found out.

Austin anxiously whispered to Tina, "Martin and Ryan are coming! How much longer do you need? If they come in and see this, my plan will be completely ruined."
Tina didn't respond.
Thinking she hadn't heard him, Austin couldn't help but raise his voice, "Martin and Ryan are almost at the door! How much longer do you need? Can you stop midway? If they come in and see this, my plan will be completely ruined."
Still, Tina didn't respond.
Austin was sweating with anxiety.
At that moment, Martin and Ryan had already reached the door.
Ryan asked Martin, "Do you think Austin might already be resting? It's so late, and we're coming to the hospital. What if we disturb him? Keeping watch over a patient is tiring; he needs to rest well."
Martin replied, "That's why I asked you to come and take over for Austin! Let him go back and rest. You and I will stay here. After all, we're older and need less sleep."

Martin and Ryan continued talking as they pushed open the hospital room door.
At the last critical moment, Tina finished just in time, sitting quietly on a chair by the bed, slightly out of breath.
Austin was so scared he almost stopped breathing.
He turned and saw that Tina had completed the hypnosis. Relieved, he let out a sigh and looked at Ryan and Martin standing at the door, forcing a smile and pretending to be surprised.
"Uncle Martin, Uncle Ryan, what brings you here?"
Ryan and Martin were surprised to see someone else in the room. After a moment, they smiled and said, "We came to take over for you, but we didn't expect a guest. Who is this young lady?"
Ryan's probing gaze shifted between Austin and Tina.
Could this be Austin's girlfriend?
Otherwise, why would she come to see Carter so late?
All of Austin's friends and classmates were in Country D. For her to come all the way to Country H to see Carter, their relationship must be extraordinary.
Austin pretended to suddenly realize, "Oh! I forgot to introduce her. This is my friend. She happened to be on a business trip to Country H and heard my father was in the hospital, so she came to visit."
"Oh, just a friend!"
Ryan nodded, seemingly accepting Austin's words but actually thinking he was too shy to admit the truth, so he didn't press further.

Tina appeared indifferent. She didn't greet Ryan and Martin. She walked up to Austin and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll leave now."

Austin timely spoke to draw their attention back, "Uncle Martin, Uncle Ryan, you really didn't need to come. I had a good rest yesterday, and I'm in good spirits today! Besides, my father is just lying there; I don't need to do much. I can nap on the couch! You should go back to the hotel and rest."
Ryan said, "We're already here! We'll keep watch tonight, and you can take over tomorrow!"
Austin smiled and shook his head, "Really, there's no need! You guys are getting older, and your health isn't what it used to be. I'm younger and can handle it. Plus, I'm used to spending days in the lab without rest."
Martin was silent.
Ryan's refusal to admit he was getting old flared up, "We're only in our forties! We're not as old as you say!"
"I didn't mean it that way. I meant you're a bit older compared to me!"
Austin, not good with words, got even more flustered when Ryan said that, struggling to explain.
Ryan laughed and patted his shoulder, "I get it. So you should go back first! You'll keep watch tomorrow, and Martin and I will do it tonight!"
Seeing he couldn't argue with them, Austin finally relented, leaving them behind and returning to the hotel.
The first thing he did upon returning to the hotel was ask Tina about the situation.
[Was the hypnosis interrupted just now? Do we need to do it again?]
Tina, on her way back, quickly replied.
[It wasn't completed! But I can guarantee he won't wake up for now. As for when he will wake up, I'm not sure yet. I'll need to find another time to reinforce it.]
Austin: [How long is 'for now'? Do you have an approximate time?]
Tina: [At least three months.]

Tina: [When you're ready, just message me. I can come over anytime.]
Austin replied: [Okay! Thank you! Be careful on your way back.]

Austin casually replied: [Good night!]
Tina stared at the screen for a long time before pressing it against her heart.

Half-asleep, Austin was awakened by his phone ringing.
It was the ringtone he used exclusively for contacting Tina.
He woke up in a panic and quickly answered the call.
He and Tina usually communicated through messages. If she called, it had to be something urgent and serious.
Sure enough, as soon as he answered, before he could ask, he heard Tina anxiously say, "Austin, something's wrong. Hannah is missing."
