Chapter 739 A Fierce Confrontation
Brooke shoved Patricia aside and stormed into the room.
Patricia followed right behind her, "Brooke, what do you want?"
They were never close to each other.
When Patricia first reunited with her family, she tried hard to bond with Kevin and Brooke. Shane liked a harmonious family, and she didn't want to mess that up.
But Kevin and Brooke ignored her efforts.
Kevin was a slacker, always out with shady friends. She barely saw him.
So, no surprise they weren't close.
Brooke, on the other hand, was usually home when not at work. She neither welcomed nor rejected when Patricia wanted to please them.
Eventually, Patricia got the hint.
Brooke didn't like her but didn't want to upset Shane, so she just ignored her.
Seeing Brooke's attitude, Patricia stopped trying.
She never expected Brooke to come looking for her.
Brooke ignored her, searched the living room and balcony, then headed straight to the bedroom. She saw Hunter lying unconscious on the bed.
Brooke said, "Patricia, you really hid Hunter."
Patricia knew Brooke misunderstood and quickly explained, "He's not Hunter. He's his twin brother!"
Brooke didn't believe it, "Stop lying! If he had a twin, why didn't you mention it? You're just covering for Hunter, pretending he's dead and hiding him."
Patricia found it both funny and frustrating, "I didn't tell you because I just found out! Hunter entrusted him to Martin before he died."
Brooke wouldn't listen and pulled out her phone, "You think I'm stupid? I'm telling Joe. He needs to know the guy who killed his son isn't dead and that you've been hiding him."
If Joe found out Patricia and Martin were hiding Billy's killer, he wouldn't let them go.
Brooke could use Joe to deal with Patricia.
Seeing Brooke was going to make the call, Patricia panicked and tried to grab the phone.
Patricia said, "I told you, he's Hunter's brother, not Hunter."
They didn't bring Hunter back just to avoid this kind of mess.
But here it happened.
Brooke's call had already gone through.
The phone rang once and was answered.
But neither of them noticed.
While dodging Patricia, Brooke asked, "If he's not Hunter, then what's his name? Where did he live? What did he do?"
"His name is..." Patricia hesitated.
She didn't know what name he was using now.
Hunter was the name used by Gabriel.
So what was the real Hunter called now?
She had no clue.
Brooke smirked, "Can't say? You're lying. He is Hunter. You all lied about his death to protect him. Patricia, you're so sneaky. If I hadn't found out, we'd all be fooled."
Patricia was frustrated. She really couldn't explain.
Brooke continued, "If he exists, there will be traces. You can't say because you're lying. He is Hunter, not some twin brother."
Patricia was beyond frustrated.
Gabriel had erased all traces of Hunter's existence. How was she supposed to find any information? It was all Gabriel's fault for being so ruthless and thorough. Otherwise, she wouldn't be in this mess.
Seeing the phone in Brooke's hand, Patricia felt a surge of anger. She didn't know where the strength came from, but she rushed over and slapped Brooke.
Brooke felt painful, and the phone flew out of her hand, hitting the wall and then falling to the ground.
Patricia glared at Brooke coldly, "I told you, he's not Hunter. If you keep pushing like this and try to stir things up with Joe, don't blame me for telling Shane."
Brooke's eyes widened as she looked at the handprint on her face incredibly, "You actually dared to hit me?"
Patricia angrily said, "Brooke, don't do anything stupid."
With that, Patricia walked to the door, opened it, and made a 'please' gesture. She said, "If Joe finds out about this, don't blame me for telling Shane what you've done."
Brooke, furious, snapped, "You're threatening me!"
Patricia, too tired to argue, said flatly, "Think whatever you want. If this thing leaks out, neither of us will live a good day."
Brooke, familiar with tender Patricia, had never seen this side of her. Her chest felt like it was about to explode with anger, and she rushed over to hit Patricia.
Patricia tried to dodge but she couldn't and was pinned against the wall by Brooke.
Soon, the two were wrestling.
Brooke pulled Patricia's hair.
Patricia scratched Brooke's face.
Brooke bit Patricia's hand.
Patricia kicked her in the stomach.
Neither gave up.
Brooke said, "I'll teach you to respect your elders! Who gave you the right to talk to me like that?"
Patricia, who had never been the person likes to fight, was furious, "You don't respect me, and you expect me to respect you?"
Brooke's face twisted with rage, "Who didn't show respect? You think you can take a share of the Koch family's inheritance? As long as I'm here, you won't get a single dollar."
Brooke had the advantage in body size.
She pinned Patricia to the ground, her hands tightly gripping Patricia's neck, looking down at her viciously, "I'll strangle you today! You shouldn't even exist."
The hands around her neck made Patricia feel suffocated, her face turning red.
She struggled to reach Brooke, but Brooke's strength was too great, and her arms were long. Patricia's hands flailed in the air for a long time but couldn't reach Brooke, finally grabbing her arm.
Patricia said, "Let me go..."
Brooke's eyes were red, like a mad beast, completely losing her mind, "Shane shouldn't have brought you back. Why does Riley get everything just because he's also a grandson of the Koch family? Why do my two sons get nothing? Shane is too biased."
Patricia couldn't breath and her eyes almost got out.
Brooke's anger for decades exploded at this moment, "I've worked so hard for the Koch family, raised two excellent sons! But in the end, we got nothing! Why? Why do Riley and Elise get so much while we get nothing? Why?"
Patricia's face gradually turned into deep red.
The oxygen in her brain was running out.
In her daze, she saw the will to kill in Brooke's eyes, and her whole body trembled.
Brooke wanted to kill her.
This made Patricia feel like she was soaking in ice water, cold to the bone.
