Chapter 704 Retaliation, Private Handling
Hunter was not sent to a prison but was locked in the Koch family's underground wine cellar.
After all, Hunter killed Billy.
Ultimately, it was up to Joe to decide how to deal with Hunter.
Upon learning that Hunter had been caught, Joe rushed over immediately and started punching and kicking Hunter.
"What did my son do? Why did you kill him? You scoundrel."
Joe put all his strength into each punch.
Thinking of the deceased Billy, Joe really wanted to cut Hunter's flesh piece by piece.
His son died innocently.
Hunter was tied up, unable to fight back. He seemed to feel no pain, making no sound when being beaten.
Afraid that Joe would beat Hunter to death, Martin hurriedly stopped Joe. "Mr. Hill, don't kill him! Many things are still unclear!"
Upon hearing Martin's words, Joe suppressed his anger, grabbed Hunter by the collar, and pulled the limp Hunter up from the ground.
"Why did you kill Billy? He had no enmity with you; why did you kill him?"
Hunter remained motionless, quietly watching Joe.
Seeing Hunter's silence, Joe's anger intensified.
"Why don't you speak? Why did you kill Billy?"
Watching Joe looking very angry, almost as if he wanted to kill him, Hunter, instead of being afraid, smirked, his shoulders moving with his laughter.
The laughter echoed in the dark and damp wine cellar.
"Do you know how he died? When I pressed him into the water, he was still struggling."
"He, just like you, was very puzzled why I wanted to kill him. Why did I kill him? This is really the most ridiculous question."
"The answer is right in front of you; why do you even ask?"
After saying those words, he calmly looked at Joe's face, smiling. "I watched him gasp for air little by little, kept him submerged in the pool. When he died, his eyes were wide open."
"Billy stared at me like that!"
"If I wasn't afraid of ruining the plan, I really wanted to gouge out his eyes."
Upon hearing this, Joe couldn't hold back anymore, pressing Hunter to the ground again, fists pounding fiercely on Hunter's body and face.
Hunter not only killed his son, he also spoke such cruel words.
He was a demon.
No human could commit such cruelty.
Hunter gritted his teeth, making no sound, lying on the ground, letting Joe rain punches on him.
Sebastian and Martin exchanged glances, then intervened together, pulling Joe, whose emotions were escalating, away.
Martin looked at Hunter, beaten and bruised, if there weren't many things to ask Hunter, Martin really didn't want to look at him for another moment.
"Billy was very skilled since he was young, how could you easily kill him? Did somebody help you?"
Hunter continued to smile.
From the moment Martin stepped in, Hunter kept on smiling.
"I won't tell you! I'll make you think about it every day."
"If you have the ability, just kill me!"
"Anyway, I've died once. I don't care to die again."
As he spoke, his thoughts drifted away unconsciously, turning into murmurs.
"Living is meaningless."
"My dad doesn't love me, nor does my mom. Patricia, whom I love, doesn't like me, and my career is gone."
"There's nothing left in this world to hold on to."
"Let me die!"
As he spoke, he closed his eyes, as if ready to be killed.
Martin, Sebastian, and Joe were all infuriated.
Martin gritted his teeth and asked, "Are you sure you won't say anything?"
Hunter didn't react, just lying there.
Joe was thoroughly provoked by Hunter!
"Whatever. I'm not interested in the reasons, only the results! Since you killed Billy, you must pay the price for your actions."
Hunter scoffed indifferently, "Fine! Come on, kill me! It's a relief for me."
Hunter's indifferent attitude made Joe angry and frustrated.
Joe had worked in politics for decades.
He had seen all kinds of people.
However, it was the first time he had encountered someone like Hunter, who had no dignity and no fear of death.
For a moment, Joe didn't know what to do.
Killing Hunter seemed too easy, but what to do if they didn't do that?
Joe had upheld justice all his life and couldn't handle private matters.
Seeing Joe's dilemma, Sebastian said with a smile, "Mr. Hill, if you can't do that, we can! Although I advocate for everyone not to break the law and be loyal to their duties, there are some things that must be handled differently. If you feel it goes against your principles and conscience, leave it to me!"
"I can follow the law, but I can also break it," Sebastian said.
As he spoke, he reached out his hand.
The bodyguard behind him immediately placed a four-inch-long knife in Sebastian's hand.
This was indeed contrary to Joe's principles.
However, handing Hunter over to the police would let him off too easily.
After much inner struggle, Joe ultimately chose to follow his selfish desires.
Forget about principlesand the law.
Joe only knew that Billy died in pain.
He wanted revenge for Billy and make the culprit to face the consequences.
Sebastian held the knife, crouching down.
The sharp blade shimmered with a cold light under the dim chandelier.
"I'll give you one last chance. You better clarify the truth, or I will use this knife in my hand to cut you piece by piece."
Hunter, however, showed no fear.
The physical pain was nothing.
It couldn't compare to even a fraction of the heartache.
If physical pain could replace heartache, he would gladly accept it.
Seeing Hunter's indifferent demeanor, Sebastian finally couldn't bear it. Even the emotionally reserved Sebastian couldn't hold back any longer and was provoked.
He raised his hand, and then the knife fell.
A white light flashed.
The next moment, a long bloodstain appeared on Hunter's arm.
Fresh red blood gushed from the wound, dripping on the ground. The sound echoed in the cramped and enclosed space, stimulating everyone's eardrums and nerves.
