Chapter 669 Margaret Was Actually Elise
Sebastian knew they should all understand.
Even Kaleb, who had not been involved in this matter, couldn't help but speak up, "Are you saying that Billy framed Patricia?"
Sebastian didn't answer but asked, "Kaleb, you've watched Billy grow up since childhood; you should know him best! How good is he at swimming?"
Kaleb nodded. "He's very good at swimming!"
If Billy had jumped down normally, he should have been like Martin; nothing would have happened, and he could have climbed up safely.
Sebastian spread his hands. "Do you understand now? A truly good swimmer wouldn't drown falling from here! He would have the ability to swim to shore."
Kaleb widened his eyes in surprise. "So, you mean to say Billy didn't die?"
Sebastian nodded and said, "If this was a premeditated framing and setup, then he definitely didn't die!"
Kaleb was puzzled. "Then why? What was his purpose? Why frame Patricia? He exposed the fact that Patricia is not my biological daughter and even killed two innocent people for it! Martin uncovered his conspiracy. Why did he go after Patricia?"
"Your daughter?"
Sebastian was slightly surprised to hear this for the first time.
Kaleb sighed. "For over twenty years, I've been searching for my daughter! Patricia, in her attempt to save Martin, assumed the role of my daughter. Despite my initial fury upon the revelation of this deceit, I eventually found it in me to forgive her. Perhaps this is fate? Destined never to see my child in this lifetime. I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl."
Out of professional habit, Sebastian subconsciously asked another question. "You've never seen your child?"
Kaleb nodded. "No! Over twenty years ago, I did something to hurt Patricia. She resented me, hated me, and didn't want to forgive me, so she disappeared from my life with her child in her belly."
"Patricia?" Sebastian furrowed his brow.
Kaleb realized his mistake and smiled. "Sorry, it's a habit, a slip of the tongue! The Patricia I mentioned is my wife; her name is Margaret. It's quite a coincidence that she shares the same name as Patricia!"
"Margaret?" Sebastian's brow furrowed even tighter. "Your wife's name is Margaret?"
Kaleb nodded. "Yes, her name is Margaret."
Sebastian fell silent immediately!
Margaret.
Margaret.
Why did Sebastian feel so familiar with this name?
It seemed like he had heard it somewhere.
But he couldn't recall it for the moment.
Vaguely, Sebastian felt that this matter was very important.
But his damn head.
Despite his photographic memory, he couldn't remember where he had heard this name.
Damn.
Just as he was lost in thought, Ryan's urgent voice brought his mind back. "Now is not the time to discuss this! Since we've uncovered the truth, we need to tell Joe immediately. I've interacted with him a few times, and I think he's an upright and honest person. I believe he will listen to our explanation."
Sebastian said solemnly, "The problem now is how to meet him. He won't even see Kaleb now."
Ryan asked, "What should we do then? We've finally uncovered the truth. Are we just going to give up like this?"
Everyone fell silent.
The atmosphere became tense for a moment.
The ride-hailing driver couldn't bear the heavy atmosphere, raised his hand, and whispered, "Is there anything else I can do? Can I leave now? I still have work to do!"
Sebastian gave him a cold glance.
The ride-hailing driver immediately dared not speak, standing there like a fool with his neck shrunk.
Now, the only hope was Kaleb.
But he had made it clear that he wouldn't get involved in this matter anymore.
They couldn't force him either.
So, they decided to return to the hotel first and discuss it further.
Martin sat on the sofa with a gloomy face, not saying a word.
Sebastian leaned on the sofa armrest with one hand, his palm supporting his chin. He looked pensive as he gazed ahead, lost in thought.
Ryan worriedly asked Martin, "Martin, how are you feeling? Can you handle it?"
Martin, who was covered with a blanket at this moment, shook his head and said, "I had a bit of hot cocoa just now. I'm okay! I can still handle it for now!"
Seeing that Martin only looked a bit pale and had no other symptoms, Ryan felt slightly relieved.
"What now? We've finally uncovered the truth, but we're powerless! Why did we investigate in the first place?"
Martin said in a deep voice, "Actually, the best way is to find Billy! That way, his conspiracy will naturally fall apart."
Sebastian said, "Country D is so big if he's intentionally hiding, we won't be able to find him."
Ryan agreed. "Yes! Look at Margaret; she's been hiding for over twenty years, and Kaleb hasn't found her! We can't search for twenty years, can we?"
Upon hearing the name Patricia again, Sebastian still felt very familiar.
Sebastian really felt like he had heard it somewhere.
With his exceptional memory, if he had truly heard this name, he wouldn't forget it.
Unless—
Unless he heard it when he was very young.
When he was young?
With a hopeful attitude, Sebastian dialed Riley's number.
If he could help Kaleb find his wife and child, he would owe them a favor, and they could ask for his help in return.
If he had truly heard this name when he was young, Riley, being older than him, might remember.
Each member of the Koch family possessed a unique talent.
They had excellent memories.
Even Jeremy, who wasn't very bright, had a great memory.
Riley didn't know that something had happened to Patricia, and at this moment, he was busy handling official business. When he received Sebastian's call, he was casual, working and asking, "What's up?"
Sebastian asked, "Riley, do you remember the name Margaret?"
Without much thought, Riley asked directly, "I've never heard of it. Why do you ask about this person?"
Sebastian urgently said, "This is very important to me. Please think carefully. I feel like I've heard this name somewhere!"
Rarely seeing him so anxious, Riley lifted his head from the documents and repeated, "Margaret?"
Sebastian responded.
Riley replied, "She is our aunt."
