Chapter 998 Really Fell in Love with Charles

Austin's face stayed stone-cold. He turned to the nurse behind him and said, "Open the door."

Without a second thought, the nurse did as she was told.

As soon as the door swung open, Violet made a break for it.

She barely got two steps before being yanked back, the clinking of chains echoing through the room.

Austin finally got why the nurse had been so quick to open the door. Violet had a chain locked around her waist. Even with the door open, she wasn't going anywhere.

Austin stepped inside and shut the door behind him.

Violet clutched the chain with both hands, yanking on it desperately.

But no matter how hard she pulled, the other end was welded to the wall, not budging an inch.

"Tell them to let me out. Don't you remember, I..."

Before she could finish, Austin silenced her with a look.

He glanced up at the surveillance camera on the wall.

Violet got the hint and swallowed her words, changing her tone, "Please, talk to my parents for me. I really know I messed up! Austin, I'm your sister, you can't just leave me here!"

She started crying, looking pitiful.

Austin didn't say a word, just kept walking towards her.

His eyes were dark and cold, like a demon straight out of hell, ready to devour her.

Violet's breath caught, and as Austin got closer, she instinctively backed away.

Austin asked, "Why did you go after Shirley?"

Violet was terrified.

She feared no one but Austin.

Because everything she had today was thanks to him.

Violet protested, "I didn't. It wasn't me! It was Charles who set me up. Shirley's just a five-year-old kid, how could I hurt her? He did it to get back at Hannah, to drive a wedge between me and my parents. You can't believe him."

As soon as she finished, she got a slap across the face, loud and sharp.

Austin didn't hold back, putting all his strength into that slap.

Violet's face had already been slapped countless times. It hurt to even speak, let alone touch it. Now, with another slap, the pain made her break out in a cold sweat, feeling like her face had been sliced off.

Austin asked, "Do you remember what I told you?"

Violet covered her slapped face, lowered her head, and whispered, "I remember!"

Austin said darkly, "This is your only warning. If I find out you've harmed anyone from the Moore family or Hannah again, I'll make sure you die a horrible death."

Violet didn't dare argue anymore.

Austin was smart and knew everything about her. No matter how much she argued, she couldn't fool him.

Violet replied, "I won't dare anymore!"

Austin stared at Violet, like a venomous snake, dark and ruthless. "Remember what you said today. The Moore family and Hannah are the people I want to protect. They are my bottom line. If you touch any of them again, I won't spare you and will kill you myself."

Violet's body trembled uncontrollably with fear.

She was deeply terrified of Austin.

Her fear of him was bone-deep.

Violet said, "I won't dare anymore. I just love Charles too much, so I lost my mind for a moment. I won't do it again!"

She admitted that she initially approached Charles with a mission.

But from the first moment she saw Charles, she was deeply attracted to him.

As time went on, she fell more and more in love with him, to the point of no return.

Charles was smart, had an excellent appearance, and was exceptionally capable.

He had this natural, noble vibe. Even if he just stood there doing nothing, he had her hooked.

Eventually, she forgot why she was there in the first place and really started seeing herself as Violet, wanting Charles for herself. That's why she went after Hannah.

Austin could tell she got the message and said with a blank face, "You need to stay here and think about what you've done."

Hearing that, Violet's head snapped up, shaking in terror. "No, I can't stay here. I need to get out. If I stay any longer, I'll lose my mind."

Before she could finish, Austin suddenly grabbed her by the neck and slammed her against the wall.

Violet's feet dangled off the ground, her hands clutching Austin's arm, terrified he'd choke her to death.

"I really know I messed up. I won't do it again. I'm sorry," she gasped.

Austin's eyes were bloodshot, like a wild beast ready to rip her apart.

He leaned in close, staring into her eyes, and growled, "You should be grateful nothing happened to Hannah. Otherwise, you'd be in the crematorium right now."

Violet's face turned a deep red from lack of oxygen, her eyes bulging.

She opened her mouth wide, desperately trying to breathe, but no air came in.

She looked at Austin in despair, tears streaming down her face.

Austin lowered his voice, speaking so only she could hear, "I'll find a time to get you out. For now, stay here and think about what you've done."

Even though he wanted to kill this fake Violet, the plan had come too far, and he had to keep going.

But after her outburst, Charles now hated her. Austin would have to rethink his strategy to use her to split up Charles and Hannah again.

He needed to see if Violet was still useful.

If not, he'd have to find a way to get rid of her to tie up loose ends.

Hearing he'd get her out, Violet saw a glimmer of hope. She tried to smile but couldn't because she was suffocating.

Seeing her eyes roll back, about to pass out, Austin finally let go.

As soon as his hand left her neck, Violet slid down the wall like a rag doll, clutching her neck and gasping for air.

"Take care of yourself," Austin said coldly before walking out without looking back.

Hannah didn't wake up until the afternoon.

She woke up starving.

Her stomach growled loudly.

As soon as she opened her eyes, before she could say anything, she heard Charles' gentle voice, "Are you hungry?"

Then Stella's voice chimed in, "I had the chef make some chicken soup for you. It's still hot, perfect for drinking."

Hannah's eyes darted around and saw Shirley, Charles, and Stella all gathered around the bed, looking at her like she was made of glass.

"I..." Hannah started to speak, but the pain in her cheeks made her gasp.

Charles quickly said, "Your face has soft tissue contusions. Don't talk today. The doctor said it'll take at least three days for the swelling to start going down."

His words reminded Hannah of the humiliating scene in the store, and her eyes instantly filled with tears.
