Chapter 867 Hannah Recognizes Her Feelings
Seeing that she wasn't saying anything, Stella just let her be, giving her space to figure it out.
After what seemed like an eternity, Hannah finally looked down and shook her head, "No!"
Stella was getting a bit frustrated, "Hannah, are you seriously giving up? What's going on in that head of yours? You..."
Before she could finish, Hannah cut in, "I need to sort things out with Austin first."
Stella's eyes went wide. "What did you just say?"
Hannah repeated, "Maybe you're right, Austin and I just don't fit! Whether or not I end up with Charles, Austin and I are done."
She finally got it; she couldn't keep being with Austin, even if it felt unfair to him.
And she knew Charles had a girlfriend, and even if they broke up, she couldn't be with him.
But marrying Austin while she was in love with Charles? That was just wrong.
She couldn't keep lying to herself.
If she didn't deal with it now, it would just waste both their time and hurt Austin even more.
Stella hugged her tight. "Oh my God, you finally get it! Do you know how long I've been waiting for this? You and Austin were never right for each other; you should've ended it ages ago."
Hannah felt super conflicted.
Austin was really good to her, like, really good. Even though she made up her mind, thinking about how kind Austin was made her feel guilty and sorry, not knowing how to break it to him.
Stella saw her hesitation and quickly said, "You don't know how to say it, do you? I'll go with you, I'll help you say it."
She was ready to drag her to talk to Austin right then and there.
They should've broken up a long time ago.
Austin just wasn't right for Hannah.
She needed a guy who respected her, truly loved her, and supported her no matter what, not someone who tried to control her life.
Even if that guy wasn't Charles, it definitely shouldn't be Austin.
Hannah shook her head vigorously, "No need, this is between the two of us, I'll talk to him myself!"
Stella had never been in a relationship and didn't get her thoughts.
But seeing her say that, she didn't push it, gently hugged her head and rubbed it, "No matter what happens, I'll always be by your side."
Hannah was really touched.
Thinking about having a friend like Stella, she felt really happy.
Hannah had cried for so long and was already exhausted. After letting out all her emotions, she felt much better and fell asleep in Stella's arms.
Stella felt really sorry for her and didn't want to wake her, so she gently placed her on the couch and covered her with a thin blanket.
Worried about Hannah, she didn't leave that night.
Hannah slept on the couch, and she slept in the bed.
Hannah had gone to bed super late the night before and woke up really late the next day. When she woke up, it was already ten o'clock.
She had cried so much the previous day, so her eyes were red, swollen, and dry.
Hannah groaned in discomfort, and the next second, a warm towel was placed over her eyes.
She was startled and was about to remove the towel when Stella said, "Don't take it off. You cried so much last night; your eyes need a warm compress. Otherwise, you won't be able to go out and see anyone today."
Hearing her voice, Hannah obediently placed her hands on her chest.
Hannah said, "You didn't leave."
Stella, full of concern, replied, "You were so upset last night, how could I leave you here alone? What if you did something to hurt yourself?"
Hannah shot back, "I wouldn't!"
Stella teased, "You never know! When people are upset, sometimes they do irrational things!"
Hannah didn't argue and switched the topic, "What time is it? I'm gonna be late for work."
Stella rolled her eyes, "It's the weekend."
Hannah was stunned, "It's the weekend already!"
A whole week had flown by without her even noticing.
Last Saturday, they had gone to a resort together, and she had watched the sunrise and sunset and had a barbecue with Charles.
Those were the happiest two days she had ever had.
Thinking of Charles, her heart ached again.
Clearly, there were four of them on the trip.
But in her mind, Hannah only had memories with Charles.
Turns out she had unknowingly fallen for Charles without even realizing it.
Even in her mind, Hannah had unconsciously switched from calling him Mr. Watson to Charles.
Stella, sitting beside her, sighed, "Yeah, Charles has been gone for almost a week. So much has happened in these few days!"
Hannah didn't respond, feeling very sad and almost cried again.
Since Charles left, every day dragged on, and she was almost always waiting for a message from him.
Little did she know that the news she was waiting for was that he had a girlfriend.
Hannah didn't want to talk anymore.
When the towel's temperature dropped, Stella went to soak it in hot water again and applied it to her eyes.
After doing this three times, Hannah's eyes finally felt a bit better.
Stella said, "I bought breakfast, but it's probably cold now. Go wash up, and I'll heat it in the microwave."
"Thanks!" Hannah thanked her, got up from the couch, and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
Stella put the cold breakfast into the microwave to heat it up.
When Hannah came out of the bathroom, she saw two breakfasts on the table and asked in surprise, "You haven't eaten yet?"
Stella, munching on her breakfast, said, "It's boring to eat alone. I waited to eat with you!"
Hannah was really touched, like, really touched.
If Stella were a guy, she would definitely like her.
So considerate and attentive, Stella was really good to her.
Hannah said firmly, "After breakfast, I'm planning to meet Austin!"
Stella's eyes instantly lit up, "Are you gonna talk to him?"
Hannah nodded, "Yeah! Since I know I don't love him, there's no need to waste his time. He should find a girl who likes and loves him."
Stella nodded vigorously, "You're right! If you don't like him, you should make it clear."
Hannah said, "I don't want to waste his time; he deserves a better girl."
Stella couldn't help but smile.
For whatever reason, as long as Hannah was willing to break up with him, it was a good thing.
Whether or not she ended up with Charles, Austin was not suitable for her.
After breakfast, Hannah sent a message to Austin, asking to meet at noon at the restaurant they often went to.
Austin thought she had figured things out and replied quickly, "Okay! I'll be there on time."
Hannah took several deep breaths at home, and after mentally preparing herself, she left the house with Stella's encouragement.
