Chapter 107 Debbie Discovers Fannie
The results of Fannie's examination were available quickly.
There were no head injuries, just external wounds. She needed to stay in the hospital for three days for observation and could be discharged if there were no complications.
After discharge, she would need to come to the hospital every three days to change the dressing.
Fannie was transferred from the emergency observation ward to a VIP room in the general ward.
Under her strong insistence, she was arranged to stay next to Randy.
Patricia patted her head and said softly, "Rest well here, don't run around. I'll go take care of your hospital admission procedures."
Fannie nodded obediently, "Okay! I will behave and not run around."
Reassured by her promise, Patricia left feeling at ease.
Fannie was alone in the ward, feeling bored, so she took out her phone and prepared to watch cartoons.
Suddenly, with a loud bang, the ward door was smashed open and a brand new soccer ball rolled in, stopping by the bed, followed by a little head poking in.
It was a face so exquisitely beautiful that it had no flaws.
The little boy was probably around ten years old, fair skin contrasting with pale pink lips, striking handsome features, and a perfect face shape. Especially the dazzling diamond earring shimmering in his left ear, which added a touch of wildness to his sunny handsomeness.
The moment he saw Fannie, a hint of amazement flashed in his eyes. His thin lips curved slightly, revealing a charming smile.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to earlier. Can I take my soccer ball back?"
Fannie shrugged and said, "No problem, you can take it. And could you close the door on your way out?"
The little boy came in, picked up the soccer ball, and deliberately walked to the side of the bed.
With a beaming smile, he reached out his hand to Fannie, "Hello, I'm Spencer Thomas. My cousin is staying in the ward next to yours. If you're bored, you can come over and play with us."
Fannie was naturally outgoing.
Seeing the other party greet her, she immediately warmly shook his hand.
"I'm Fannie. My Mommy is a professor of cardiology. What kind of illness does your little brother have? If it's related to heart disease, you can come to my Mommy. She's really talented and has won many international awards."
"Your Mommy?" Spencer looked at her suspiciously, wondering, "Aren't you only four or five years old? How old is your Mommy then?"
In his impression, professors were old men in their fifties or sixties, and even the youngest would be in their forties!
Fannie didn't sense any implications in his words and smiled, "My Mommy is twenty-four this year."
"....??" Spencer chuckled uncertainly, "Only twenty-four? The youngest professor I know is twenty-seven. Isn't twenty-four a bit too young?"
Fannie hurriedly said, "No way! My Mommy is really amazing. She has done many difficult surgeries. You can trust her with your cousin, really!"
Spencer didn't want his cousin to become an experiment, so he shook his head and declined, "No need, my cousin already has an attending physician, who happens to be her best friend! She also works in this hospital and knows your Mommy for sure."
Fannie asked, "Who is it?"
Spencer proudly replied, "Yes, Debbie! She's a cardiology professor too!"
At the moment Fannie heard Debbie's name, her little face suddenly sank, "Debbie is your cousin's best friend?"
Spencer nodded, "Yeah! They're close.”
"They have been best friend of over ten years! Debbie actually watched me grow up, so our relationship is great."
At this moment, Fannie couldn't hold back her emotions any longer. She extended her hand and forcefully pushed him, saying, "Since you belong to Debbie, we can't be friends. Get out of here, I don't want to see you."
Caught off guard, Spencer stumbles back, nearly falling to the ground. He was raised with people always treating him with care. Experiencing this sudden treatment now, Spencer couldn't help feeling frustrated.
"What are you doing?"
With disgust filling her face, Fannie retorts, "Let me tell you, Debbie and I are enemies. If it weren't for her, my mother wouldn't have suffered so much. She's a bad person, and so are you."
Being accused of being a bad person out of the blue, Spencer's expression turns sour.
"Debbie isn't a bad person, there must be a misunderstanding! The Debbie I know is gentle and beautiful. You must have misunderstood her. Or maybe, we're not talking about the same person."
"Debbie? The Deputy Chief Physician of the Cardiology Department at Ivara City Hospital, Martin's former fiancée?" Fannie confirms Debbie's identity.
Sincerely, Spencer responds, "Yes, she's my cousin's best friend."
With the confirmation, Fannie's temper flares up again, angrily stating, "It's her, she's the one who caused my mother so much suffering. She's a bad woman, a mistress. Your cousin and she are best friends, so your cousin can't be a good person either. You're not a good person either, get lost. I don't want to be friends with someone like you. Just get lost..."
Stubbornly, Spencer insists, "There must be a misunderstanding here. Debbie isn't the person you described."
The more he explains, the angrier Fannie becomes. She reaches for the water cup on the bedside table and hurls it at him in frustration.
The cup hits Spencer's chest, splashing water all over him, making his face instantly unbearable to look at.
"My cousin and Debbie are good people. It's your mother who isn't a good person."
Unable to tolerate him insulting her mother, Fannie's small face turns red from anger as she shouts, "Get lost! If you don't leave, I'll call security..."
"If we're not friends, then so be it! I don't care! With your temper, even if you come back to find me, I won't pay any attention to you, hmph..."
Even someone as arrogant as Spencer couldn't handle this humiliation. He coldly snorts and turns to leave.
Fannie is about to explode with anger. She wishes she could call Spencer back and scold him even more harshly.
Spencer angrily walks out of the ward, clutching the soccer ball in his hands, only to run into Debbie on his way.
Seeing his angry expression, Debbie quickly asks with a smile, "What happened? Who made our young master angry? I'll teach them a lesson for you."
Looking at the gentle and lovely Debbie, Spencer couldn't bring himself to believe that she was the bad woman Fannie described. His anger intensifies even more.
"I just met a little girl who really doesn't know what's good for her. I was being kind and she said so many awful things about you.”
Debbie was surprised and asked, "She cursed at you and our cousin? How does she even know us?"
Spencer angrily replied, "I don't know, she said you caused her mother a lot of suffering, called you a mistress, a bad person, and even threw a water cup at me."
Upon hearing the word 'mistress', Debbie's face changed. "What's her name?"
Spencer said, "Fannie."
Debbie's mind went blank for a moment, and a terrifying thought flashed through her mind.
She hurriedly asked, "Which ward does she live in?"
Spencer pointed and said, "It's that ward! Debbie, you better not go there. She's incredibly rude and vicious. If you go, she'll throw a water cup at you."
Debbie smiled and said, "It's fine. I'll go explain to her to avoid any misunderstandings. You should go find Bobby quickly! He's been looking for you everywhere!"
Upon hearing that his cousin was looking for him, Spencer didn't doubt Debbie and left with his soccer ball.
As she watched him leave, Debbie narrowed her eyes dangerously and quietly pushed open Fannie's door. When she saw Fannie, a wave of shock flashed in her eyes.
How can this little girl look so much like Patricia? Fannie... Patricia... Could it be? Wait, why does this little girl look a bit familiar? Where have I seen her before?
