Chapter 1047 Hannah Forgot Charles
When Charles rushed over, he saw Tina pulling Hannah and jumping down. Instinctively, he reached out to grab them, but caught nothing.
Without hesitation, he jumped down after them. The police saw him jump and followed suit.
Tina, carrying Hannah on her back, couldn't swim fast because she was a woman with limited strength.
Although the other police officers weren't expert swimmers, they were in excellent physical condition and quickly caught up to Tina.
Hannah clung tightly to Tina, watching them get closer and closer. Especially when she saw Charles, her face scrunched up. For some reason, a strange feeling arose in her heart.
"Tina, why does that person look so familiar? Did I know him before?"
Tina, of course, knew who she was talking about. When she looked back earlier, she had immediately seen Charles in his white casual clothes.
Austin was right. Charles was indeed too smart. A small mistake on her part had quickly allowed Charles to locate Hannah and chase after them. They didn't even have time to escape.
"Evelyn."
Hannah looked at Tina. "What's wrong, Tina?"
Tina took out the phone she used to contact Austin from her pocket and threw it into the sea. Only this way could they prevent the police from tracking Austin through her phone.
Then, she looked into Hannah's eyes. She said nothing, did nothing, just looked into Hannah's eyes.
Hannah couldn't help but stare back, the light in her eyes instantly turning pitch black. Her expression became dazed.
Charles quickly swam over. Just as he reached out to take Hannah from Tina, Hannah suddenly went limp and fell into an endless darkness.
Her grip on Tina loosened, and her body slipped into the water. Charles immediately dove underwater, struggling to pull her into his arms.
The moment he held Hannah in his arms, tears streamed down his face uncontrollably. His heart, empty for over four months, was suddenly filled to the brim, and his dark life finally brightened.
He had finally found Hannah. The joy of regaining what was lost overwhelmed him. For the first time, he was so happy that he didn't know what to do.
Charles kissed Hannah deeply on the forehead and whispered in her ear, "Hannah, I'm taking you home right now."
At the same time, Tina was caught by the approaching police.
Charles, holding Hannah, surfaced. Before reaching the shore, he gave Tina a fierce look.
Her hat had fallen off when she jumped into the sea, but she still wore a mask, and it was dark. Charles didn't recognize her; he just gave her a fierce look and then swam to shore with Hannah without looking back.
Moments later, Tina was taken away by the police.
Charles took Hannah to the hospital. He wanted to take out his phone to inform Martin and Randy that they were safe, but found that his phone had been waterlogged and was no longer usable.
He borrowed the driver's phone and called Martin. "Dad, I found Hannah. The person who took her has been caught by the police! My phone got waterlogged and isn't working! Please tell Randy and Uncle Ryan that they don't need to stay on alert anymore!"
Martin quickly asked, "Is Hannah okay?"
Charles looked at the unconscious Hannah in his arms, his voice trembling with joy, "She swallowed some seawater. I'm taking her to the hospital now! She should be fine."
Hearing this, Martin breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Good! Randy, Ryan, and I will be there right away."
After ending the call, Charles returned the phone to the driver.
He reached out and gently traced Hannah's features, his eyes stinging and his throat tightening. It took him a while to find his voice.
"Hannah, I finally found you. I will never let you leave me again, never again." As he spoke, he realized how hoarse his voice had become, with a slight choke in it.
No one could understand his feelings at this moment. Heartache, regret, joy, excitement—so many emotions intertwined, making him want to cry.
Charles held Hannah tightly in his arms, lowering his head, kissing her forehead again and again, finally stopping at her lips.
The familiar touch, the familiar scent. It was Hannah. He had found her. She was back.
Charles couldn't hold back any longer. Hot tears fell one by one onto Hannah's face, sliding down her facial contours.
Hannah remained unconscious in his arms. Charles anxiously asked the driver, "How much longer until we reach the hospital?"
The driver replied, "It's just ahead. Please be patient a little longer!"
Charles noticed that Hannah's body temperature was very low and said, "Turn up the air conditioning a bit more."
The driver adjusted the air conditioning higher.
A few minutes later, they finally arrived at the hospital. Charles carried Hannah out of the car and quickly ran to the emergency room.
Hannah was wheeled into the emergency room by the doctors.
Wearing his wet clothes, Charles nervously sat on a bench outside the emergency room, rubbing his face repeatedly, trying to calm himself down.
Otherwise, he feared he might lose control and rush into the emergency room.
Before long, Martin and Randy arrived. Randy was holding two sets of clean clothes, one for a man and one for a woman.
Seeing Charles's wet clothes clinging to his body, Randy said with relief, "Dad was smart. He guessed you might have fallen into the sea when your phone got waterlogged, so he bought two sets of clean clothes for you. Go change in the restroom quickly! You don't want to get sick when Hannah wakes up."
"But..." Charles stared at the emergency room door, afraid that Hannah would come out the moment he left.
He wanted to be the first person Hannah saw when she opened her eyes. They had been apart for so long, and he missed her so much. She must feel the same way.
Randy, uncharacteristically assertive, said, "No buts! Changing clothes won't take long! Hurry up, the emergency room procedures usually take some time!"
Charles thought for a moment, realizing Randy made sense, and took the clean clothes to the restroom.
When he returned after changing, Ryan had also arrived, carrying a food container. Seeing Charles, he immediately opened the bag and took out disposable bowls.
"I bought some hot tea from the restaurant. Drink some to warm up! I also got a bowl for Hannah. She can have it when she wakes up."
"Thank you!" Charles didn't refuse, taking the bowl and drinking it sip by sip.
Just as he finished the hot tea, the emergency room door opened.
The doctor came out with a relaxed expression. "The patient is fine and will wake up soon! I'll have the nurse take her to a room. If you have any questions, come find me."
Hearing that Hannah was okay, Charles felt a huge sense of relief. His shoulders relaxed. Everything was fine now! It was really great!
Hannah was wheeled to a room. Charles sat by her bedside, not leaving her side. Martin, Ryan, and Randy stayed nearby.
Martin asked, "Was the person who took Hannah caught? Where is she now?"
At the mention of Tina, Charles's expression instantly turned cold. He gritted his teeth. "She's at the police station."
Martin asked again, "Should we handle it here or take her back?"
Charles narrowed his eyes, his thin lips pressed into a line, and said through clenched teeth, "Of course, we take her back!"
Although he didn't hit women. He would never let the person who took Hannah off easily. There were many ways to get revenge.
Martin immediately understood his meaning and said, "Alright, I'll negotiate with the police."
Just as he finished speaking, they saw Hannah's eyelashes flutter, and she let out a pained moan from her throat.
Charles's eyes lit up instantly, and he tightly held her hand. "Hannah, you're awake? Hannah?"
Hannah slowly opened her eyes, seeing a very handsome face. She looked at Charles in confusion. "Who are you? Where am I?"
