Chapter 1148 Mother and Daughter Finally Recognize Each Other

Lassie let go of her and extended her hand.

Hannah stared at the outstretched hand, her heart pounding. Was this real? Taking a deep breath, she slowly raised her hand and placed it in Lassie's palm.

The warmth of Lassie's hand made it real.

This wasn't a dream.

Her biological mother had really come to find her.

She wasn't alone anymore.

This was amazing!

She finally had a complete family.

Realizing she had finally succeeded, Lassie exhaled sharply and smiled.

She had finally convinced Hannah to come back with her.

"Let's go, sweetie. I'm taking you home." Lassie said.

Hannah nodded eagerly. "I'm going home with you!"

As she spoke, the dark night sky began to brighten.

Everyone around them vanished.

Lassie held Hannah's hand, standing in a field of blooming flowers.

Above them, the sun shone brightly.

The wounds on Hannah's body miraculously disappeared.

Lassie suddenly understood that meant her daughter's emotional wounds had healed, her state of mind transforming from darkness to light, just like the world around them.

During this time, Violet had been trapped in painful memories, unable to escape. These memories were the most painful, the ones she least wanted to remember, the ones she most wanted to forget.

Maybe it was because the accident had been triggered by Quentin and Lisa's provocation. Before she lost consciousness, the last people she remembered were Lisa and Quentin. The harm they caused Violet was too great, leading to this phenomenon.

But now, everything was fine.

Violet's emotional wounds had healed, and she didn't fall into another nightmare.

Lassie could finally take her back.

The world around them began to spin again, and a huge crack suddenly appeared between Lassie and Hannah. In the blink of an eye, the crack spread towards them, and it grew larger and larger.

Lassie was startled, not knowing what was happening. She pulled Hannah, trying to run.

But the ground beneath Hannah's feet suddenly gave way, revealing a bottomless abyss. Hannah hung on the edge of the pit, and if she fell, it would be a disaster.

Lassie was terrified.

She clung tightly to Hannah's arm, lying flat on the ground, the veins in her arms bulging. "Violet, hold on to my hand, don't let go, don't let go."

Hannah saw her mother's face twisted with effort, covered in large beads of sweat, veins bulging on her neck and forehead.

She knew her mother was struggling.

Her mother was slender, and they were about the same size and weight.

So it was really hard for her mother to hold on to her.

If her mother didn't let go, she might be pulled down with her.

She didn't want her mother to get hurt because of her.

She struggled to let go of her mother.

But her mother held on tightly, refusing to let go.

Because of her struggle, her mother shouted in terror, "Violet, listen to me! Don't let go. I worked so hard to find you, I can't lose you again! Please, hold on to me, don't let go!"

Hannah cried, and her tears streamed down her face.

This was the first time she truly felt valued and cherished.

It felt so good, like a dream.

She had just found her biological mother, just felt warmth; and she didn't want to be separated from her.

But she knew that if she kept holding on, her mother would be pulled down with her.

She liked this mother, so she couldn't bear to let her fall with her.

"Mom, let go. If you don't, you'll fall with me."

This was the first time Lassie heard Hannah worry her.

The feeling was completely indescribable.

She suddenly felt that her life had no more regrets.

Even if she died with her daughter now, she would have no regrets.

"I'm your Mom, it's my job to protect you. No matter what, I won't let go. Violet, I didn't protect you well last time, and you suffered so much. This time, I won't let go, no matter what. Even if we die, we'll die together."

Hannah cried harder; her tears fell like raindrops.

So this was a mother.

This was what it felt like to be protected by a mother.

Unfortunately, she realized it too late.

She cried and choked, "I wish you had found me sooner, then we wouldn't have to part so soon! It feels so good to be loved by you. I just started to feel it, and now I have to die!

Mom, promise me, if I die, you have to live well!

I'll watch over you from heaven."

Lassie had long forgotten she was in Hannah's dream. Thinking about losing her daughter again, she cried heart-wrenchingly. "No, no. I don't want you to die. I worked so hard to find you, I haven't made up for it yet! Violet, promise me, don't let go. I'll pull you up, you have to hold on to my hand. Violet."

Lassie gritted her teeth, trying to pull Hannah up.

But Hannah was too heavy.

Lassie was too weak, barely able to keep Hannah from falling, let alone pull her up.

Her arm felt like it was going to break in two.

Her molars seemed to bleed from the effort, and she managed to pull Hannah up an inch.

But for every inch she pulled Hannah up, the crack expanded ten inches.

Her pulling speed couldn't keep up with the crack's expansion.

In the end, not only did she fail to pull Hannah up, but half of her own body was already hanging over the edge, as if she could fall at any moment.

Seeing her mother risking her life for her, Hannah cried even harder. "Mom, let go! If you don't, you'll fall with me, Mom."

"Don't talk, hold on to me, we'll climb up together."

Seeing her mother's unwavering determination, Hannah finally found hope. She used her hands and feet to grab onto anything she could to climb up.

It was as if God saw her plea, and she finally grabbed a stone on the edge of the crack.

She held on tightly, trying to use it to climb up.
