Chapter 1071 Searching for Memories

Noticing her cheeks were flushed, Charles instinctively reached out to touch them. His palm was cool and soothing, but instead of cooling down, Hannah's face grew even warmer.

Charles asked with concern, "Is it too hot? Should we head back?"

Hannah, not having had enough fun yet, shook her head vigorously. "No need! It's not hot. It's only May, and the weather is just right for an outing."

Charles still wasn't entirely convinced. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Afraid he wouldn't believe her, Hannah nodded emphatically. "I'm really fine! If I felt unwell, I'd tell you!"

Only then did Charles feel reassured.

The three of them stayed at D University until six o'clock.

As they were getting ready to leave, Charles suddenly asked Hannah, "Do you want to eat at the cafeteria?"

Hannah asked innocently, "Can we?"

Charles replied matter-of-factly, "Of course we can! You're a student at D University; eating at the cafeteria is perfectly normal!"

Hannah hadn't had any particular thoughts about where to eat. But since Charles mentioned it, she suddenly wanted to try it. "I want to eat there."

Charles habitually took her hand and led her to a cafeteria. "You've told me before that you love the food at this cafeteria. It's dinner time now, so there should still be good food! Come on, I'll take you to eat."

Hannah followed closely behind Charles, her eyes on their clasped hands. Surprisingly, she didn't mind at all and even felt a strange, peculiar sensation in her heart.

Stella followed behind them. She hadn't expected them to suddenly decide to eat at the cafeteria and quickly took out her phone to text Randy.

Stella: [Hannah and Charles want to eat at the cafeteria, so we won't be coming back for dinner tonight. Just grab something for yourself! Or, should I bring something back for you? The food at our cafeteria is pretty good; I think it tastes great.]

Randy's reply came quickly. [Sure! Bring me something back!]

Stella, following behind Charles, texted Randy back: [What do you want to eat?]

Randy replied: [Anything is fine. I'm not picky. Just bring me some of the most famous dishes from your cafeteria to try!]

Stella: [Okay.]

Stella and Randy continued their casual conversation.

The cafeteria was a bit far from the artificial lake, and it took them about ten minutes to get there.

This cafeteria was always the most crowded, and it was packed with people at the moment.

Once they arrived, Stella stopped chatting, put away her phone, and started looking for a seat. She quickly spotted a four-person table, and as soon as the previous occupants left, she swiftly sat down and handed her meal card to Charles.

"I'll hold the spot here. You two can just get me something to eat! Go ahead."

Charles took the meal card, and because it was so crowded, he held onto Hannah's hand to prevent her from getting jostled.

Looking at the dishes in the glass display, Hannah's stomach growled even though she hadn't been hungry before.

She and Charles quickly picked out a few dishes, carried them on a tray, and brought them to the table Stella had secured.

As Hannah took her first bite, Stella watched her eagerly and asked expectantly, "How does it taste? Does it remind you of anything?"

Hannah paused. Indeed, with the first bite, she felt a strong sense of familiarity, as if she had eaten it before.

However, it was just a familiar feeling; she still couldn't remember anything else.

Stella didn't push her and urged, "Alright, hurry up and eat! I'm starving!"

The three of them ate with great enjoyment. After they finished, Stella packed a lot of delicious food for Randy before they headed home.

After a day of fun, Hannah was exhausted. On the subway ride back, she fell asleep, her head unconsciously resting on Charles's shoulder.

Stella, sitting across from them, noticed she was asleep and moved over to sit next to Charles. "Is she asleep?"

Charles made a shushing gesture. "Keep your voice down, don't wake her."

Stella covered her mouth, nodded to show she understood, and then whispered so only the two of them could hear, "Charles, have you noticed that Hannah has changed a lot since she came back?"

Charles nodded. How could he not notice?

Since stepping into his house last night, Hannah had visibly started to change. She seemed to be slowly remembering some things from the past.

Stella had noticed something even more important. "And also, since she came back, she has seldom mentioned Tina. It's like she's completely forgotten about Tina."

Charles nodded. "Yes! So if she doesn't bring it up, we shouldn't mention it in front of her, to avoid reminding her."

Stella nodded and snorted coldly, "Fake is fake. Friendships gained through hypnosis can't last long! In Hannah's heart, we're still more important. Just wait! Once Hannah remembers everything, I'm going to teach Tina a lesson! That wretched woman, how dare she treat Hannah like this, disregarding her health and forcibly hypnotizing her."

Charles remained silent. He had a strong feeling that there was someone behind Tina.

The reason Tina did this wasn't because she liked Hannah; it was to protect someone behind her. But who was she protecting? Wyatt still hadn't found any clues.

Tina and her accomplices were very cautious, leaving no traces.

Back home, Hannah was inexplicably in a good mood, smiling even while taking a shower and going to bed.

Once Hannah went to her room to sleep, Charles said to Stella, "I'm planning to take her to Crystal Blue Lake tomorrow. Although it's not the place where we fell in love, it's still a very important place. Maybe she'll remember something."

Stella immediately volunteered, "I'll go with you! I missed the sunrise last time, and I definitely want to see it this time."

As soon as she finished speaking, Randy grabbed the back of her neck and forcibly turned her head towards him. "They're going to find memories as a couple. What are you going for? Don't you have any self-awareness? Stay home tomorrow."

Stella pouted and said, "But it's so boring to be home alone! I want to go out and have fun too."

Charles asked, "Do you like playing the piano? I can teach you tomorrow."

Stella shook her head without hesitation. "No! I want to go out and have fun."

Randy fell silent.

Charles said, "It's fine. You two can have fun together, and I'll be with Hannah! We can each do our own thing!"

Stella immediately nodded in agreement. "Charles is right. We can each do our own thing. Why do I have to stay home?"

Seeing how much she wanted to go, Randy didn't say anything more and reluctantly agreed.

The next day.

The four of them, in two cars, headed to Crystal Blue Lake.
