Chapter 1157 Deepening Feelings

Patricia really knew Lassie well.

After everyone left, Lassie pushed the wheelchair into the elevator, taking Hannah up to the second floor.

When she found out Hannah was her daughter, she had the maid prepare the room with the best lighting on the second floor as Hannah's bedroom.

As for the room Violet used to stay in, everything inside had been thrown out.

She had already contacted the people to renovate the room completely.

She didn't want to keep any memories of Violet.

That was the biggest mistake they both made, one of the things they least wanted to remember.

Lassie opened the door to Hannah's bedroom.

Hannah took one look and immediately liked the room.

The modern, minimalist decor was grand, bright, and comfortable. The walls, without excessive decoration, had only one very large Peppa Pig sticker.

The sticker clashed with the room's decor. But Hannah loved it.

Seeing her staring at the sticker, Lassie explained, "When I was getting the room ready for you, I asked Charles. He said you liked simple decor, grand and bright, comfortable without feeling oppressive.

But you really like Peppa Pig. If I could get you a Peppa Pig outfit or pillow, you'd be thrilled.

So I thought, why not put up a Peppa Pig wallpaper? I also got you a pillow and pajamas!

How do you like it? If it feels out of place, I'll have someone take it down tomorrow."

Hannah's eyes were red.

She felt warm inside.

She had never received such treatment in the White Family.

Her room was converted from a balcony, let alone having her own room, her preferred decor, and her favorite Peppa Pig.

Even though Peppa Pig clashed with the room's style.

She could feel her mother's love for her here.

She was deeply moved.

She felt like crying.

She was no longer the child unloved by her parents.

She had parents who loved her now.

Seeing her cry, Lassie thought she had done something wrong and panicked, "I'm sorry, I'll have someone take the wallpaper down right away!"

She was about to call the maid.

Hannah grabbed her hand, sniffing and choking up, "No, no! I'm happy, these are tears of joy!"

She lowered her head, sobbing, "You treat me so well. It's the first time I've felt the warmth of a home! I never felt this in the White Family!

I'm very happy, I love everything you've prepared for me! Mom, Dad, thank you. Thank you so much."

Listening to her cry and thank them, Lassie's heart twisted into a knot.

She hugged Hannah tightly, unable to hold back her tears. "Sweetheart, don't say that. Hearing you say that breaks my heart! You don't know, after entering your dream and witnessing your experiences in the White Family, I wanted to kill Lisa right then.

That bastard! How could she treat you like that?

After bringing you back, I decided I must make it up to you, repay everything I owe you from these years."

Even now, thinking about it made her tremble with anger.

Hannah leaned against Lassie, feeling her whole body tremble with anger, her heart beating fiercely.

At this moment, she felt unprecedentedly secure and happy.

She snuggled into Lassie's arms like a child. "I don't need compensation! You don't need to feel guilty. Finding you is enough for me! This is all in the past, let's not bring it up again! We should look forward, not lock ourselves in past memories."

Lassie nodded vigorously, laughing and crying. "Yes, yes, you're right! We should look forward!"

Hannah smiled contentedly.

Lassie added, "Your legs aren't in the best shape, let me help you with your bath?"

Hannah jumped in surprise, shaking her head vigorously, "No, no need! Just push me in, I can handle it myself! It's just my legs, not my hands!"

Having her mother help her bathe would be so embarrassing!

Lassie knew she was shy and didn't push her, instead, she helped her into the bathroom. "Pajamas and toiletries are all ready, everything's inside! I'll be right outside, call me if you need anything!"

"Okay!" Hannah nodded.

Lassie showed her where everything was, adjusted the shower to hot water, and then left, thoughtfully closing the bathroom door.

Hannah's leg was fractured, but not too seriously. Bathing and brushing her teeth were a bit difficult, but she could manage.

After her bath, Lassie helped her to bed. "You can play on your phone, I'll go shower! Tonight, I'll sleep with you! We haven't slept together in years, we can catch up."

Hannah obediently agreed.

The mother and daughter didn't feel estranged despite eight years apart. Instead, they felt close, naturally gravitating towards each other, treating each other well.

Not long after Lassie left, she returned with Shirley.

Shirley hugged a pillow, smiling at the door, "Hannah, can I sleep with you guys?"

Hannah opened her arms, "Come here."

Shirley was thrilled, ran to the bed, kicked off her shoes, jumped on the bed, and snuggled into Hannah's arms.

Lassie worriedly reminded, "Hannah's leg isn't healed yet! Be careful not to press on her leg!"

Shirley nodded vigorously, "I know! Don't worry, Mom, I won't hurt Hannah!"

The three of them, Lassie and Hannah on either side, Shirley in the middle, turned off the lights, and the moonlight streamed through the window.

They chatted until late at night before falling asleep.

Charles seemed to know they would talk all night and didn't call to disturb Hannah.

That night, Hannah didn't have nightmares.

Shirley unknowingly snuggled into Hannah's arms, the sisters tightly together, sleeping soundly.

They slept late into the next day.

When they woke up, they were well-rested.

Shirley took her pillow to wash up, Lassie got clean clothes from the closet for Hannah, then helped her into the bathroom to change and wash up.

When the three of them were ready and went downstairs, Charles was already in the living room chatting with Carter.

Seeing them come down, Carter and Charles stood up.

Carter said, "Finally, you're up. Charles has been here for hours!"

He looked at Hannah, gently asking, "How did you sleep? Are you comfortable? Any trouble adjusting?"

Hannah smiled and shook her head, "I slept very well, I love the room!"

Carter was satisfied, "Glad you like it!"

Charles walked to Hannah, ruffling her hair, "Let's eat first, then we'll head out!"

"Okay!"

They all sat down for lunch, then Charles took Hannah to the airport, and they flew to Country D.
