Chapter 1020 Discovered
Charles restarted the software he had developed to find Violet, using facial features, height, and build to search globally for Hannah. Any information that bore even a slight resemblance to Hannah would be sent to him.
The software had been running for ten minutes, and Charles had already checked his phone at least twenty times.
Nothing.
No information about Hannah had been found.
She, like Violet back then, seemed to have vanished from the world.
Just as he picked up his phone for the thirtieth time, Violet, who had been in a deep sleep, slowly stirred awake.
She opened her eyes slowly, rubbed her temples, and looked around, feeling a bit groggy and disoriented.
Where was she?
Wasn't she supposed to be in the hotel lounge?
How did she end up here?
Suddenly, her gaze fell on the window, and she noticed the darkness outside. She quickly sat up from the sofa, habitually reaching for her phone to call Charles, when she heard Charles's voice softly in her ear.
"You're awake?"
Violet paused her search for the phone and looked in the direction of the voice.
The faint light from the computer screen flickered on Charles's handsome face, and she finally felt at ease. She gently patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief.
She walked over to Charles.
"How did I end up here? Where is this? Weren't we supposed to be at the hotel?"
As she spoke, she glanced at Charles's computer.
The moment she looked at the computer, it shut down. Charles closed the laptop and said calmly, "You fell asleep and couldn't be woken up, so I carried you back. This is Sunshine Manor, home of the Langley family."
Violet blushed and shyly looked at him. "You carried me back?"
Charles nodded. "Yes."
Violet's face turned even redder. She hooked her arms around Charles's neck, intending to sit on his lap, but before she could, Charles suddenly stood up from the chair.
The sudden movement almost made Violet fall.
She blinked her innocent eyes and looked at Charles with a pitiful expression. "Charles, what's wrong?"
Realizing his reaction might have been too extreme and could raise her suspicion, Charles quickly responded, "You haven't eaten much since this morning. You must be hungry! Come on, let's go downstairs and get something to eat."
Violet hooked her arms around Charles's neck, lowered her eyes, and shyly said, "I'm not hungry! Isn't tonight our wedding night? Why don't we go to bed early?"
She had been longing for Charles for a long time.
If they could consummate their relationship tonight, she would completely become Charles's woman.
She planned to quickly get pregnant with his child; even if her true identity was discovered one day, she could use the child to keep Charles tied to her forever.
Charles felt utterly disgusted, and goosebumps rose where she touched him.
He almost couldn't resist pushing her away.
"Did you forget?"
Violet was stunned. "Forget what?"
Charles said, "You told me you wanted to save your first time for our actual wedding night! That would be your most beautiful first time, and it should be on the most beautiful night."
"Did I say that?"
Violet instinctively asked, then realized she almost slipped up and quickly said, "That was before! We got engaged today, and my feelings have changed! This can also be considered our wedding night, right?"
A look of disgust flashed in Charles's eyes.
"Be good! I love you, so I cherish you even more! I don't want you to get hurt because of me."
"But..."
Violet was anxious.
If she didn't hurry and have sex with Charles and get pregnant with his child, she would be discovered sooner or later.
What would she do then?
Before she could finish, Charles interrupted, "No buts! Come on, join me downstairs for something to eat. I'm hungry too."
As he spoke, he pried her hands off his neck and walked towards the door without looking back.
Violet stomped her foot in anger.
Reluctantly, she followed Charles.
No, she had to find a way to have sex with Charles.
When she was discovered, even if she wasn't pregnant, she could use this reason to cling to Charles and make him take responsibility for her.
Even if the real Hannah came back, she wouldn't be afraid.
Everyone was tired after a busy day.
They were all resting in the living room on the first floor.
Afraid they might slip up, Patricia sternly warned, "Remember, if you have any questions for Charles, don't discuss them in front of Hannah. Talk to him privately."
Fannie asked in confusion, "Why? Isn't Hannah part of our family? What can't we tell her?"
Patricia glared at her. "Just don't ask. You'll understand when the time comes!"
"Mom, you..." Fannie started to ask more questions, but Elijah quickly interrupted by handing her a cherry. "Here, eat something! If Mom says so, she must have her reasons. Don't pry."
At that moment, Charles and Violet came downstairs one after the other.
The staircase in Sunshine Manor was designed indoors, so coming downstairs gave a clear view of the living room. Similarly, those in the living room could see who was coming down.
Seeing them come down, everyone frowned almost simultaneously.
Something was off!
Charles usually doted on Hannah.
Whenever they came downstairs, they were always holding hands, very affectionate, as if they couldn't bear to be apart for a moment.
Why were they coming down one after the other today? And so far apart?
Did they have a fight?
Would Charles really fight with Hannah?
Fannie spat the cherry pit into Elijah's hand, got up, and walked over, pointing at Charles and then at Violet, about to ask if they had a fight.
Charles didn't give her a chance to speak.
"Hannah is hungry! Is there any food at home?"
Patricia immediately walked over, pulled Fannie aside, and nodded vigorously. "Yes, I knew you didn't eat much during the day and would be hungry at night, so I had food prepared. You two eat; we'll go upstairs to rest."
With that, she motioned for everyone to go upstairs.
Fannie pouted. "But I'm hungry too. I want to eat something. It wasn't just Charles who was too busy to eat today; I was too!"
She had been surrounded by people asking for autographs and photos almost all day.
She was exhausted.
Ignoring her complaints, Elijah forcibly dragged her upstairs.
"Go take a bath first. I'll bring the food up for you! Aren't you tired? I'll give you a massage too!"
With that, they bid everyone goodnight and left.
"Charles, Hannah, you two rest early too. We're going to bed!" Maria, Declan, and Randy also went upstairs.
Only Stella stood beside Violet, her gaze sweeping over Violet from head to toe.
The more she looked, the colder her eyes became.
