Chapter 919 Charles Meets Quentin

After ditching home, Hannah was feeling super bummed out.

Thinking about Quentin and Lisa's attitude towards Charles, she was totally lost! She knew that once Quentin and Lisa found out about Charles's real deal, they'd be all in for them being together.

But she didn't want Charles getting tangled up with Quentin and Lisa because of this.

They were all about the show and the dough.

She knew Quentin liked her and cared for her. But that didn't stand a chance against money.

Lisa was the same, only had eyes for Oliver and cash.

Their family was dirt poor, so they were all about the money.

That was why they kept pushing her to marry Austin.

They thought Austin's dad was Carter, and Austin himself was a big shot, buying a house and a car on his own. Even though he wasn't as loaded as Charles, he was still a big deal among his peers.

And now, to them, Charles wasn't as rich as Austin and had health issues.

What was she supposed to do? How could she get Quentin and Lisa to accept Charles?

Just as she was drowning in her thoughts, a pair of warm hands grabbed hers, and a solid thumb gently rubbed her arm.

Hannah looked up, following the hand, and her eyes finally landed on Charles's face.

Charles let go of her hand, wrapped his long arm around her shoulder, pulled her into his embrace, kissed her forehead, and softly said, "No matter what happens, we'll face it together. I believe they will be moved by my sincerity."

The four of them were crammed in a taxi.

Randy was riding shotgun, while Stella, Hannah, and Charles were squished in the back.

Hearing his words, Stella's barely suppressed anger started bubbling up again.

Stella snapped, "Hannah, your parents are the most unreasonable people I've ever met! Other parents just want their kids to be happy and don't meddle too much. But your parents? They act like the whole world is out to get you, and only they know what's best. The worst part is, their choices suck, yet they're so arrogant, thinking they've picked the best guy in the world for you. They're ridiculous, selfish, and self-serving. Yet they claim it's all out of love for you, for your own good!"

Charles thought she was going too far and shot her a cold look, warning, "Shut it! Haven't you said enough at home?"

Stella pouted, feeling wronged, "I'm just standing up for you! What, if Hannah's parents don't agree, you two won't be together?"

Charles was silent.

Hannah said, "No, we're officially together! Whether my parents agree or not, I'm not leaving Charles."

Hearing her words, Stella finally smiled again, her eyes twinkling with excitement, "Do you still have your documents with you? Why don't you get hitched now? It's best if you get pregnant soon; then they won't be able to stop you even if they want to."

Hannah was silent.

Charles's mouth twitched, and he stretched his long arm past Hannah to turn Stella's face towards the window.

Charles said coldly, "You better shut up."

Stella turned her head back, pouting, "Am I wrong? As long as Hannah gets pregnant, they won't be able to disagree."

Charles didn't want to hear her nonsense anymore. He pressed Hannah's head to his chest, covering her ears so she couldn't hear.

Charles said, "Enough, I'm super tired. Let me have some peace."

Stella puffed her cheeks in anger, glaring at Charles with grievance.

Even so, she didn't argue with him anymore.

Charles wasn't in good shape. He had just rushed from Sunset Bay to Country D, and after landing in the capital of Country D, he hurried here without rest. He had just woken up, and his body was already severely overworked.

Luckily, Randy had prepped in advance and booked a hotel in the city.

Even though it wasn't as fancy as the hotels they usually crashed at, it was clean enough.

Randy, being the smart cookie he is, booked four rooms. Stella initially thought he was just burning money, thinking they could've just booked two rooms—one for Randy and Charles, and one for herself and Hannah. But then she had a sneaky thought and smiled to herself without saying anything.

After they got to the hotel, they hit up the restaurant on the third floor and then headed back to their rooms to crash.

After a day of traveling, everyone was beat.

Randy took Charles to his room, helped him freshen up, and then went back to his own room.

After a day of stress, he knocked out as soon as he hit the bed.

Stella was even more wiped out. She had walked more and didn't even want to wiggle her toes. She also fell asleep in no time.

Charles, though, couldn't catch a wink. He sat alone on the sofa, mulling over how to get Quentin and Lisa to accept him.

Now that he had some alone time, he could finally chill and think things through.

After a bit, he pulled out his phone and called Wyatt, asking him to dig up Quentin and Lisa's contact info.

When Hannah joined the company, all her info was in her file.

Soon enough, Wyatt sent over Quentin and Lisa's phone numbers.

He dialed Quentin's number.

The phone rang a couple of times before it was picked up.

"Hello! Who's this?" Quentin asked.

Charles didn't beat around the bush, "I'm Charles, Hannah's boyfriend!"

Quentin sounded confused, "Why are you calling me? I'm telling you, no matter what you say, I won't agree to you two being together."

His tone was super hostile.

But Charles kept his cool, "I want to talk to you. Nine o'clock tonight, you pick the place."

He wasn't familiar with the area and didn't know where would be good for a chat.

"I don't want to..." Quentin started to refuse but then changed his mind, "Fine, nine o'clock, Emerald Oasis Eatery."

Emerald Oasis Eatery?

Charles was momentarily thrown but quickly agreed, "Okay! I'll be there on time!"

After hanging up, he opened his phone's browser and searched, "How to get future in-laws to accept you?"

A bunch of suggestions popped up. Most of them were about giving money or having a kid with Hannah ASAP. Basically, all useless advice.

Charles's mouth twitched.

He finally got where Stella had picked up all that nonsense.

However, through the search, he did find one key point.

Money.

Would money make Quentin and Lisa accept him?

Charles rested his arm on the back of the sofa, his long fingers tapping rhythmically.

If money could solve everything, then things would be a whole lot easier.

At nine o'clock, Charles showed up at Emerald Oasis Eatery right on time.

Quentin and Lisa were already there, chowing down on a full table of food.

Seeing him hobble over with a cane, they just gave him a disdainful look and didn't offer any help.

Charles didn't care. He sat down across from them and, without wasting time, pulled out a card from his wallet and placed it in front of them.

Quentin looked puzzled.

Lisa paused her eating, "What are you doing?"

Charles said, "This card has no spending limit. Use it however you want."

Quentin was dumbfounded.

Lisa was also dumbfounded.

Charles clasped his hands together in front of him and continued, "Last month, I dropped fifteen million dollars on the latest Rolls-Royce! I can give it to you! But I came in a hurry this time and didn't bring the car, but I've already called my assistant to bring it over tomorrow."

Quentin was dumbfounded.

Lisa was also dumbfounded.

Charles continued, "I can give it to you."

Quentin was silent.

Lisa was silent.
