Chapter 1191 High Demand

The room was packed, and Patricia worried that the lack of fresh air might make Hannah uncomfortable. So, she only let Lassie in and kept everyone else outside.

Since Patricia had taken out the pregnancy test, Lassie hadn't said a word.

When they entered the room, Lassie's expression was complicated as she looked at Hannah, who was pale and lying on the bed with her head resting on Charles's lap.

It was hard to tell if she was happy or worried.

Seeing Patricia finally return, Charles couldn't wait to ask, "Mom, did you get the medicine?"

Patricia handed the pregnancy test to Charles.

Charles glanced at it and frowned. "Weren't you supposed to get medicine? Why did you bring back a pregnancy test? You..."

Halfway through his sentence, he seemed to realize something. He stared at Patricia in disbelief, his mouth opening and closing for a while before he managed to speak. "Are you saying Hannah is pregnant?"

Patricia smiled. "Based on my experience, there's an eighty percent chance she's pregnant! But to be sure, we need to test. Take Hannah to the restroom to check."

It took Charles a moment to process this. He stood up instinctively, forgetting that Hannah's head was on his lap.

His sudden movement almost twisted Hannah's neck.

Hannah, still in a daze, was thrown off balance and rolled onto the bed.

Lassie and Patricia were so shocked they nearly stopped breathing.

Lassie quickly went to help Hannah. "Violet, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

Patricia angrily slapped Charles on the back. "What are you doing? I said Hannah might be pregnant! Be gentle! If you hurt my grandchild, I'll make you pay."

Charles was still in shock.

He just nodded dumbly and ran to the restroom with the pregnancy test.

Lassie was puzzled.

Patricia was puzzled.

A minute later, Charles came out of the restroom, looking completely lost. "How do you use this?"

Lassie was puzzled.

Hannah was puzzled.

Patricia was puzzled.

She had always thought her son was smart, maybe not the smartest in the country, but definitely up there.

How could he look so clueless now?

It was embarrassing.

"Even if you've never used one, haven't you seen it on TV? If not, there's a manual. Can you read? Do you need me to read it to you?"

"Oh, right! There's a manual!" Charles finally realized and looked down at the instructions.

After a moment, he pointed at the manual, looking at Patricia with a very stupid question. "It says to use urine. Is it my urine or Hannah's?"

Patricia was speechless.

She snatched the test from him and pushed him aside.

"Stop embarrassing yourself! You're making the Langley family look bad! Your father wasn't this dumb when he found out you were his son!"

She was furious.

She had expected her son to be happy about Hannah's pregnancy.

But she hadn't expected him to be so overjoyed that he lost all sense of reason and turned into a complete idiot.

Patricia carefully helped Hannah up from the bed. "Hannah, come on, let's go check."

Hannah finally snapped out of her daze and let Patricia help her to the restroom.

Lassie and Charles waited outside.

Lassie's mind was a whirlwind of mixed emotions.

Charles, after a moment of blankness, was in complete chaos.

He had only one thought that Hannah was pregnant.

They had always used protection. How could she be pregnant?

Suddenly, a thought struck him, and his eyes widened.

Could it be that time in the hospital when Hannah had just woken up?

That was the only time they hadn't used protection.

Because it was in the hospital, he hadn't expected Hannah to seduce him, and he lost control.

He had forgotten to buy the morning-after pill afterward.

Now that he thought about it, it had been over a month.

The more he thought about it, the more he was convinced it was that time.

The waiting was excruciating.

Every second felt like an eternity.

Charles paced the room anxiously, his palms sweaty.

He remembered closing a two-billion-dollar deal at sixteen with ease and confidence, never feeling this nervous.

Today was the most nerve-wracking day of his life.

Finally, the restroom door opened.

Patricia walked out, holding Hannah's hand.

Hannah looked dazed, like a soul had been sucked out of her.

But Patricia was beaming, holding up the pregnancy test with a smile. "Hannah is really pregnant! This morning's sickness was a pregnancy reaction."

At that moment, Charles was overjoyed, like a child. He first covered his mouth, then grabbed Hannah's hand, then spun around in place.

He was so happy he didn't know what to do with himself.

"Hannah, we're going to be parents! We're having a baby! We're having a baby." Charles excitedly picked Hannah up and spun her around.

Lassie and Hannah were terrified.

"Stop! Put her down! She just got pregnant! The baby isn't stable yet. You could hurt her and the baby."

"Idiot, Hannah is still feeling sick! Don't spin her around, or she'll throw up again."

Charles finally realized and put Hannah down, looking flustered. "Right, you are pregnant now. We need to be careful!"

Then he asked another very stupid question. "So, what do we do next?"

Lassie was puzzled.

Patricia was puzzled.

Patricia said, "Now that she's pregnant, she needs to rest at home! I'll make an appointment with a specialist for tomorrow morning. We'll take Hannah for a check-up! I'll have Evangeline make some nutritious food for her."

Charles nodded vigorously.

Patricia continued, "The first three months are crucial. She should stay home and rest. After three months, when the baby is stable, she can start moving around a bit."

Charles kept nodding.

Patricia added, "And for the next three months, you need to control yourself."

Charles nodded like an obedient child.

But Hannah blushed.

No wonder she had been feeling extra needy lately, always wanting to have sex with Charles.

It turned out it was because she was pregnant, and her hormones were out of balance.

She had heard that pregnant women could have hormonal imbalances and increased libido. She hadn't believed it before, but now she did.
