Chapter 47 Patricia Gives Birth to Twins

After Debbie finished looking at the photos, her face turned extremely gloomy.

"Are you sure these are two different people? Not just one person?"

Apart from the clothes, they looked exactly the same. Afraid that she wouldn't believe her, Gladys swore to convince her.

"I'm telling you the truth! I was going to bring you some documents, and as soon as I arrived at the parking lot, I saw Patricia meeting Mr. Langley. I was afraid they would do something to hurt you, so I wanted to keep an eye on them for a while. Unexpectedly, I discovered another Randy. I distinctly saw him in the hospital ward, when I went downstairs, but then he got out of Mr. Langley's car. Most definitely, something fishy is going on."

Debbie squinted her eyes, a hint of maliciousness flashed in them.

"So what you're saying is, Patricia didn't give birth to a single child initially? It was twins?"

If that were really the case, wouldn't she have another obstacle?

Gladys offered her a suggestion, "Ma’am, should we tell Mr. Langley about this? If Mr. Langley finds out that she secretly kept a child, he will definitely be furious with her."

Debbie gave her a disdainful look.

"You fool! If Martin finds out that he still has another son, then I will have even less standing in his eyes! Even if he blames Patricia, it will only be temporary. Having two sons speak up for her, Martin will eventually forgive her."

No, she couldn't let this happen.

Gladys unwillingly asked, "Then what should we do? Shouldn't we do anything? It's such a great opportunity. After all, Patricia was the reason you were suspended by Mr. Langley."

Debbie laughed, a sinister and terrifying laugh.

"Do something? How could we not do anything! It's just that the time is not right yet. Last time, I was too impatient to bring down Patricia, and that's why I lost. This time, I absolutely cannot lose. If we're going to do it, we have to strike at the right moment, so she'll never have a chance to turn things around."

The plan was underway, and she couldn't be hasty and tip her hand too early.

Excited, Gladys asked, "So when will be the right time?"

Debbie handed her a check, saying, "You don't need to ask what you shouldn't ask! Keep monitoring Patricia for me! Report any suspicious activity immediately."

Seeing the check, Gladys' eyes lit up.

"You can rest assured, I will watch Patricia closely for you. If anything happens, I will report to you immediately."

Debbie nodded in satisfaction.

After discussing some of the latest hospital updates, the two of them parted ways.

The Langley Group. President's office.

Alan stood with his head down, respectfully reporting to Martin about the situation.
"The release of the new film has been disrupted because of that little girl's interference. The operation will be forced to suspend, and both the company's reputation and your personal reputation will be affected, leading to a twenty-point drop in the company's stock price."

Martin’s handsome face resembled an ice sculpture. With pursed lips he said, "Did you find out her identity?"

Alan shook his head, saying, "After receiving your call, I immediately went to retrieve the surveillance video from the Ivara City hotel, but I couldn't find any trace of Fannie."

If it weren't for seeing it with his own eyes, he would have doubted whether the scene just now was nothing more than a dream.

Martin raised an eyebrow. "No trace at all?"

Alan nodded. "Yes! There is no trace of her at all! We couldn't even find her in the surveillance footage at the press conference! Later, I contacted several media outlets that interviewed her, but they all lost any trace of the little girl. The same goes for online platforms. It's as if she never existed, disappeared into thin air."

The atmosphere in the office suddenly dropped to freezing point.

Martin's dark and profound gaze locked onto Alan. His exquisite thin lips curled slightly as he let out a low, icy laugh.

"Good, very good."

Alan knew this was a prelude to his boss getting angry, and his body immediately broke out in a cold sweat.

"Boss, I... I suspect it's C!"

A chill spread across Martin's face like Satan emerging from the darkness.

"Besides him, who else could it be?"

"Who exactly is this C? Why is he always against us? What is his purpose?" Alan pondered relentlessly.

"Heh..." Martin sneered.

His purpose. He also wanted to know the other party's purpose.

If it was an enemy, it didn't seem like it, considering they were only causing minor trouble without inflicting significant damage on him. If it wasn't an enemy, then why were they constantly targeting him?

The enemy's strength was formidable. If they were indeed enemies, this would be the most difficult enemy for the Langley Group to deal with.

"Go find an artist!"

Alan instantly understood his meaning. "You want to have her face drawn?"

Martin replied, "As long as we have someone, it will be impossible not to find her."

"I understand!" Alan took out his phone and made the necessary arrangements.

After the call ended, Martin asked, "Any progress on that matter?"

Alan knew what he was asking about and quickly replied, "I'm about to report to you!" He placed the documents he held in front of Martin.

"There haven't been any financial transactions in her recent bank account, but a monthly deposit of one million dollars is made into her son's account. I investigated the transfer account, and it is an overseas account. I haven't been able to find out the owner's identity yet."

Martin narrowed his eyes. "Continue the investigation."

Alan nodded and left.

Martin's slender fingers tapped the desk absentmindedly, his handsome face turning ironclad. His gaze stared ahead, lost in thought.

At that moment, the phone on the desk rang, a call from the old mansion.

Martin instinctively furrowed his brows and decisively hung up. The other party was persistent and called again.

Martin, still without hesitation, did not answer the call.
After several repetitions, the other party finally gave up and sent a message instead.

"I know about the little girl. Take her back to the Langley Mansion as soon as possible. Regardless of who her parents are, she is the seed of our Langley family. We must not let her wander outside."

A child of the Langley family?

“Ha...” Martin sneered, locked his phone, and did not reply to the message.

Seeing that he didn't respond, several more messages were sent one after another. But seeing that he still didn't reply, they finally stopped.

Today's incident had kept Martin busy, and by the time he returned home, it was already late at night.

Randy was already asleep, and Patricia sat beside him, flipping through a medical book under the dim light. The scene was indescribably warm.

Martin stood there in a daze, unable to help but get lost in his thoughts.

For a brief moment, he wished time could freeze in this moment.

Feeling his gaze, Patricia asked without looking up, "Why did you come back so late today?"

Martin sat on the other side of the bed, gently stroking Randy's head with his large, comforting hands, whispering, "There were some issues with the Langley Group's six-month preparation for the new film release. I stayed at the company to handle it."

Upon hearing his words, Patricia's hand momentarily froze while flipping through the book, and a hint of guilt flashed in her eyes.

"Is it resolved?"

"It's a bit complicated. It might take a few more days."

As soon as he finished speaking, Martin's stomach embarrassingly growled.

Patricia looked up at him and asked, "Didn't you eat tonight?"

Embarrassed by her gaze, Martin lowered his head, avoiding her eyes. "I was too busy and forgot!"

Patricia sighed in her heart and put down the medical book in resignation.

"What do you want to eat? I'll make something for you."

Suddenly raising his head, Martin looked at her incredulously, as if he had seen a ghost.

"Why are you suddenly being so nice to me? Are you planning to poison me in my food?"

Patricia chuckled, giving him a disdainful glance. "Yes, I'm planning to poison you! If you don't want it, then don't eat!"

Her voice carried a hint of playfulness.

Martin's heart trembled, his mind went blank, and words blurted out, "I'll eat it. Even if it poisons me, as long as it's cooked by you, I'll eat it."

As his words trailed off, the air suddenly became still.

Patricia's heart suddenly tightened, as if held by an invisible hand. Waves of sourness flowed out from within her and spread through her blood.

Martin's gaze slightly darkened, his heart thumped unexpectedly.

The temperature around them kept rising.
