Chapter 1010 Meeting of Both Parents

The place where both parents agreed to meet was a VIP room at the Sunset Grand Hotel.

When Lisa and Quentin reappeared, they had completely transformed and repackaged themselves!

Lisa wore a fitted long dress paired with a white shawl, and her hair was styled up. Her entire demeanor instantly elevated, and even when she wasn't speaking, she exuded elegance and grace.

Quentin wore a simple leather jacket with a turtleneck sweater underneath, looking both understated and warm.

To show her fondness for Hannah, Patricia had brought Martin and the kids to the private room early to wait.

As soon as Lisa entered the room, she spotted Patricia and immediately walked over, warmly taking Patricia's hand as if they were old friends. "You must be Charles's mom! I'm Lisa. I always hear Hannah talking about you. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. You're even younger than I imagined. You and Hannah look more like sisters than mother-in-law and daughter-in-law."

Though her words were flattering, they were not exaggerated.

Time had not left its mark on Patricia; instead, it had given her the charm of a mature woman, making her even more beautiful than in her younger days.

Hannah felt a bit helpless. She thought, 'Lisa can lie without batting an eye. I have never mentioned anyone from Charles's family in front of her!'

Patricia, having seen much in her life, didn't show any discomfort despite Lisa's enthusiasm.

Patricia said, "Hello, please have a seat!"

She then looked at Martin. "You can ask the waiter to serve the dishes now. We can talk while we eat."

Martin glanced at Randy and Randy stood up and left the room.

Patricia specifically had Lisa and Quentin sit inside, while she sat across from them.

Soon, the dishes were served one after another.

Lisa had never seen such exquisite dishes in her life. Even after becoming wealthy, she didn't know about these dishes and immediately started eating heartily.

Hannah blushed and whispered in her ear, "Mom, slow down. No one is going to take the food from you."

Lisa's mouth was too full to respond.

"It's okay. It's good that your mom enjoys the food! We're all family. No need to be formal." Patricia said and didn't mind at all.

After all, before marrying Martin, her life had been tough too. She believed in equality and never looked down on anyone as long as they had good character.

She was like this, and so were the children she raised.

Hannah felt very embarrassed.

No matter the occasion, Lisa was always like this.

She didn't understand the most basic etiquette.

Patricia said, "Lisa, here's the thing. The engagement day is the day after tomorrow! Do you have any requests for the engagement party? Or any financial requirements?"

Hearing this, Hannah's breath caught, and she was about to reach under the table to tug on Lisa's clothes to remind her not to ask for money.

But before she could, Lisa said, "Anything is fine. It's okay if you don't give anything! We're marrying off our daughter, not selling her. As long as Hannah is happy, we're satisfied."

Hannah's outstretched hand froze, and she looked at Lisa in disbelief. She couldn't believe these words came out of Lisa's mouth.

Hannah thought, 'Is Lisa out of her mind? The usually money-hungry Lisa doesn't want money.'

Quentin chimed in, "Yes, we're marrying off our daughter, not selling her. We don't need money. The most important thing is that the kids are happy."

It was the first time Patricia had heard someone say they didn't want money.

When she married Martin in place of Debbie, her father Gavin had asked for several billion dollars.

If it weren't for that money, the Watson Group would have gone bankrupt long ago and wouldn't have survived for so long.

Patricia smiled. "Alright, although Hannah is my daughter-in-law, I've always treated her like my own daughter! We'll handle the financial aspect ourselves and won't let her suffer."

Lisa nodded while eating, her eyes hiding her calculations.

Lisa thought, 'The card Charles gave us is enough to keep us comfortable for several lifetimes. We don't need to buy a house or a car. As long as we please the Langley family, we won't have to worry about money in the future! I won't offend the Langley family for a small profit. Charles is my son-in-law, after all. Whatever I want in the future, Charles will surely provide.'

Lisa had many calculations in her mind.

Patricia asked again, "Do you have any thoughts on the engagement party? The venue is on the third floor of this hotel. After dinner, I'll take you to see it. Everything is almost arranged, but if there's anything else you need, just let us know."

Lisa shook her head vigorously. "Just a look is fine! You value Hannah so much, so I'm sure you won't let her down! Besides, we don't have much experience with engagements and don't know much about it! You decide! We'll just attend."

Patricia had never met such an understanding in-law before.

So she didn't say much more and just briefly explained their arrangements to Lisa and the others.

After the meal, she took them to see the engagement venue.

As soon as they walked in, Lisa was dazzled by the luxurious decorations and couldn't close her mouth.

Lisa thought, 'The Langley family is even wealthier than I have imagined. Setting up this venue must have cost at least six figures, right? And the stage setup, Is it necessary to make an engagement party so extravagant? Hannah is really lucky to find a wealthy husband like Charles. These seven years of raising her haven't been in vain. We have finally come to the end of our hardships and can hold our heads high.'

Patricia asked, "If you're not satisfied with anything, feel free to let us know! After all, an engagement party only happens once in a lifetime, and we don't want any regrets."

Lisa nodded. "I'm very satisfied! I have no complaints. You decide."

Seeing she had no objections, Patricia finally breathed a sigh of relief. "In that case, it's settled! I'll discuss some details with the emcee later."

Lisa kept nodding. "Sure! I'll just show up."

After a pause, she wondered if she was being too agreeable and added, "But, isn't this a bit too extravagant? It's just an engagement party."

Patricia didn't mind. "It's not extravagant. It's less than ten million dollars! Our eldest son's engagement can't be too shabby, or people will laugh at us."

Lisa was shocked by the staggering number and started coughing violently.

Lisa thought, 'Less than ten million dollars? Do rich people always spend money like this? They talk about so much money like it's just a few dollars. If an engagement party costs this much, won't the actual wedding cost even more? When Hannah got engaged to Austin, they just had a small gathering at a hotel, and Austin's parents didn't even come! Indeed, abandoning Austin for Charles is the right choice. A wealthy man like Charles is hard to find!'
