Chapter 1152 Crazy Longing
The ward cleared out quickly, leaving just Charles to look after Hannah.
This was the first time Hannah had been alone with Charles since she woke up. She felt awkward and uneasy, maybe out of shyness or something else.
She leaned back against the hospital bed, her head down, unable to meet Charles's eyes, her hands nervously twisting the bedsheet.
The ward was so quiet that they could hear each other's breathing.
Hannah noticed that Charles hadn't said anything or moved for a while. Curious, she was about to look up to see what he was doing when a figure appeared in her line of sight.
The next second, her tightly clenched hand was enveloped in a warm, large hand.
Charles's hand was big and warm.
Hannah could clearly feel his hands trembling slightly, his palms sweaty.
Thinking he might be unwell, Hannah quickly looked up, concerned. "What's wrong? Why are your palms sweaty? Are you sick?"
When she had woken up yesterday, she had only glanced at him briefly and hadn't had time to look closely.
The ward had been dimly lit, and she had only vaguely noticed that he had lost a lot of weight.
Now, upon closer inspection, she realized he hadn't just lost weight; he looked utterly exhausted.
His eyes were bloodshot, with dark circles around them, as if he hadn't slept in a long time, and stubble had sprouted around his mouth.
Hannah cupped his face tenderly, her voice hoarse. "Is it because of me? Have you been taking care of me without rest, making yourself look so worn out?"
When Charles had been hospitalized after a car accident, she had done the same, staying by his side without eating or drinking.
Afraid something might happen to him.
She understood that feeling all too well.
And she absolutely believed in Charles's deep affection for her.
Charles didn't deny it. He nodded, took her hand from his face, kissed it, and said in a trembling voice, "Yeah, I was really worried about you! I even thought, if something happened to you, I wouldn't want to live without you."
Hannah's eyes immediately reddened.
She knew he wasn't just saying that to comfort her; Charles meant every word.
Because she felt the same way.
If something happened to Charles, she wouldn't be able to go on.
They had always valued each other more than themselves.
"Now that I'm awake, we never have to be apart again," Hannah said.
Charles nodded. "It was my fault before. I was too careless, which led to you getting hurt repeatedly! From now on, I'll never leave your side!"
Hannah laughed through her tears at his words.
Her tear-filled eyes and her simultaneous laughter were heart-wrenching.
"Being together all the time! I couldn't handle that for long! Besides, you have to work, and I have to go to school! We can't really be together every moment!" She believed Charles could stay by her side without leaving.
Life was long, and she didn't want Charles to spend his entire life revolving around her.
Charles had his own dreams and ambitions.
She couldn't selfishly keep him by her side forever.
Charles frowned in displeasure at her words, but before he could voice his discontent, Hannah guessed his thoughts and smiled. "Don't worry! After everything that's happened, I'll take good care of myself!"
She paused, then continued, "And the one behind all this is Austin! He's the only enemy from start to finish! Once we deal with him, no one will try to tear us apart again!"
Charles wanted to say more, but Hannah suddenly hooked her arm around his neck and kissed him.
It was a brief kiss.
Her eyes were misty yet filled with deep affection as she looked into Charles's eyes.
"Charles, I've missed you so much!" She didn't want to waste time on small talk with Charles.
So much had happened recently, and she really missed him.
Even though they had been together before the accident.
It felt like they had been apart for a long, long time.
She missed him and had so much to say to him.
Charles looked into her eyes, his heart swelling with emotion. His gaze traveled down from her eyes, finally resting on her lips, his expression changing.
He struggled to control his impulses, sweat beading on his forehead.
He was torn inside.
He wanted to kiss her, to kiss her deeply.
But she had just woken up and was still very weak, needing rest.
After a moment of internal struggle, Charles forced himself to let go of her and stood up to leave. "Get some rest. I'll be on the couch. Call me if you need anything."
After that, he turned to go.
Seeing him trying to escape, Hannah grabbed his wrist and pulled him back into her arms.
Charles hadn't expected this and fell back onto the bed. Before he could react, Hannah had hooked her arm around his neck again, her warm lips pressing against his.
This time was different from before.
Earlier, she had only given him a light kiss and let go.
But this time, she didn't let go immediately. Instead, she boldly parted his lips, her small tongue timidly wrapping around his soft tongue.
Charles shuddered, his throat tightening, his heart melting.
Hannah was very bold, just like the first time she had given herself to him, sucking hard, inching forward as if she wanted to devour all of Charles.
Charles looked at her face, so close to his.
She was bold, but her eyelashes fluttered, showing her nervousness.
But soon, he lost the ability to think.
Because Hannah's small hand traveled down his chest, boldly grasping his cock.
Charles gasped, a current of electricity shooting through him, the familiar sensation overwhelming him. He lost the last bit of his rationality, grabbed the back of Hannah's head with one hand, and pressed her down onto the bed, taking control.
Charles's kiss was fierce, as if he wanted to devour her whole, his tongue sweeping over Hannah's palate with force.
They hadn't been intimate for a long, long time.
Even after finding Hannah, he had been afraid of scaring her, always stopping short, never taking things further.
No matter how much he wanted her, he had always restrained himself.
But now, it was like a spark had been thrown onto a pile of dry wood, igniting a roaring fire.
The fire burned fiercely, making him feel like the heat in his body was seeping out of every pore.
He had already forgotten that Hannah was a patient who had just woken up. He only wanted to possess her, to ease the longing he had felt during this time.
Hannah also desperately longed for him, just as he longed for her.
They both wanted to have each other immediately, to vent their longing through action.
Soon, their clothes were discarded on the floor.
Charles wrapped them in a blanket, his body pressing down, entering the place he had longed for day and night, moving slowly.
