Chapter 1203 Suicide
Charlotte cried and laughed for quite a while. Her face was completely wet. She finally reached out to wipe away her tears, smearing them haphazardly on her clothes.
"It's really fate playing tricks on us! If Hannah hadn't broken up with my son, he would still be the Austin who held onto his principles and would never harm any of you. But alas. Fate started to unfold just as I had hoped! Hannah eventually fell in love with Charles and broke up with Austin! Austin couldn't handle the blow and, under my influence, tampered with Charles' car. He thought that if Charles died, Hannah would come back to him. But, ha. Not only did Charles survive, but it also made Hannah see her true feelings more clearly and stay with him. Austin tried to use Quentin and Lisa to pressure Hannah. Who would have thought those money-grubbing scumbags, upon learning that Charles was the president of IntelliMerge Technologies and the heir to the Langley family, immediately accepted Charles and shamelessly leeched off him. Even though Hannah wasn't their biological daughter, how could they be so shameless? When my son confronted them, they actually threatened him! They said if he continued to bother Hannah, they would reveal Austin's true nature to her. Ha, Austin, that foolish child! He was actually scared."
Charlotte didn't want to cry; she wanted to act normal. But the tears were uncontrollable, falling like a relentless downpour. "Neither of our plans succeeded. The car accident didn't kill Charles, and Quentin and Lisa's loyalty completely shifted to Charles! My son was utterly defeated! So, we thought of the fake Violet. She was originally an orphan."
Patricia mentally calculated the timeline. From Charles' car accident to the appearance of the fake Violet, it was only a few months. What kind of plastic surgery could be done in such a short time without leaving any traces? And there was no way to find any evidence of her past. Even if Harper was incredibly skilled, she couldn't have such god-like abilities!
Soon, Charlotte began to unravel Patricia's doubts. "Eight years ago, after we sent Violet to be raised by the White family, we found the fake Violet in the orphanage! She was about the same age as Violet and looked somewhat similar, but not entirely. To make her look more like Violet, we've been adjusting her appearance over the years.
To make it believable, so you wouldn't suspect her, she really did wander around! But it wasn't as tragic as she claimed! The tea shop offered shelter to her because we paid the owner a monthly allowance. From the day we took Violet, we feared this day would come, so we kept a backup plan.
So, as Charles and Hannah's relationship deepened, we had no choice but to release clues for Carter to find the fake Violet. When you did the paternity test, we bribed the technician to forge the report. But, unexpectedly, Charles let go of his feelings for Violet because of Hannah! The fake Violet turned out to be as unreliable as Quentin and Lisa! That idiot actually fell for Charles! She even dreamed of having Charles for herself.
To get Charles, she repeatedly sought death. Austin had told her how to interact with Charles, how to show weakness, how to gain his sympathy. But she didn't listen; jealousy clouded her mind, and she did so many foolish things."
In the end, she got herself killed! Our plan was ruined by her! If I had known she was so useless, I would have chosen someone else! I picked her only because she had a slight resemblance to Violet.
You know the rest! After all our plans failed, my son could only try to replicate what happened eight years ago! But Hannah's willpower was so strong that even though her memory was wiped, she still didn't forget Charles! And..."
At this point, she suddenly found it amusing. Finding it funny, she really laughed. "In the end, Hannah, who had changed her name to Evelyn, fell in love with Charles again! Haha, isn't it ridiculous? It's truly laughable! No matter how many times, no matter what her name is, she will always fall in love with Charles! They seem destined to be together, no matter how many times they are separated, no matter how many times they lose their memories, they will always find each other again."
Charlotte cried and laughed, looking utterly ridiculous. Her laughter stirred Austin. Austin's confused eyes gradually focused, realizing that all his efforts were ultimately futile against Charles, and a hint of sadness appeared in his eyes. He truly was the most pitiful person in the world! The woman he loved deeply kept falling for another man, time and time again. No matter how hard he tried, she never looked his way.
He did so much for her. He really was the most pitiful person in the world.
"You know the rest! Violet was found again and fell in love with Charles once more. The fake Violet, unwilling to accept it, drove into her, leading to Violet's reunion with the Moore family and exposing her fake socialite identity. That idiot, if she hadn't done that, she could have at least pretended to be Violet and lived a life of luxury! But she insisted on sending Violet back to you! After the incident, she even wanted my son to help her escape! Such a useless person with no value left, why keep her around? So, my son killed her to prevent her from revealing our plans. We thought killing her would bring peace. But in the end, it still led back to my son! You imprisoned him! Harper knew Austin was locked up, so she went to Country D to find me and release me! To save Austin, I had no choice but to use Oliver. The rest doesn't need explaining, does it? You know everything! You tracked us down using the locator on Violet, caught us all, and bribed Tina to help capture us."
All the truths were revealed. Charlotte laughed at herself. "I lost, completely and utterly!"
Charlotte's shoulders slumped, her whole body weakly collapsing to the ground, her eyes filled with endless regret. "I was wrong, terribly wrong! I thought all my tragedies were because of Martin! I was resentful. Why could he live in the Langley Mansion with no worries, while I had to suffer so much?"
When she learned from Patricia that Martin had barely survived all these years, she realized she had hated the wrong person.
She shouldn't have hated Martin. She should have hated her parents. Martin, like her, was a pitiful person, unloved by their parents. Her life had been a joke.
Suddenly, she raised her head sharply, and before anyone could react, she got up from the ground and charged forward, slamming into the wall with all her might.
