Chapter 352 The Baby Patricia Sent Proves She Must Still Be Alive

(Revised)

After handing the baby off to the nanny, Martin was getting ready to drop the kids off at the daycare.

"We're running late,. gGrab your backpacks; I'm taking you to school."

The trio of kids shook their heads vehemently, like bobbleheads.

"No, we want to wait for the results with you!"."

Martin set his face in a stern line, asserting,. "I know what you're thinking, but you're kids andyou kids belong in school. You'll find out everything when you get home. Whether she's your sister or not, I won't keep it from you. You'll know the truth."

"But..."

Fannie and Randy were about to protest.

When suddenly, Charles stepped in,. "Alright!. We'll go to school!. Daddy, you take good care of our little sister. If she really is our sister, then it means momMommy is still out there. You have to find Mmommy as fast as you can."

Martin smiled, his heart warmed by his most sensible and obedient child, and tousled Charles's hair affectionately.

"Don't worry, I've got it under control."

After dropping the kids off, Martin hurried back home.

The baby was still sleeping, lips smacking as if she were tasting something delicious, a sweet smile spreading across her face.

She smiled just like Patricia.

Martin couldn't tear his gaze away from her, entranced and watching her incessantly until Alan returned with the DNA test results.

"Boss, the results are in. The genetic match with you and the kids is 99.9 percent. She's your biological daughter, no doubt about that, and their sister."

Even though Martin had almost guessed it, the confirmation sent a surge of emotion through him, making his body tremble uncontrollably.

It wasn't just him; even Alan was in disbelief. His wife was supposed to have passed away. And yet, six months later, a child was brought to them.

His wife was supposed to have passed away.

And yet, six months later, a child was returned to them.

What in the world was going on?

If his wife was alive, why hadn't she come back?

With shaking hands, Martin lifted the sleeping child from the cradle, wrapped her in a blanket, and said, "We need to go to the hospital for a check-up."

Martin had been married to Patricia by the time their child was born for just eight months.

If the baby was conceived on their wedding night, it should have been premature.

To be on the safe side, Martin decided it was best to get the baby checked out.

But the results of the physical results were a total shock.

"The baby is full term, estimated to be less than a month old, having stayed in the womb for thirty-seven weeks!. All vital functions are normal,. tThe only issue is the low birth weight, just around four pounds, indicatingwhich indicates some malnutrition. A good feeding routine should clear that right up."

"Full term?"

Martin thought he had heard wrong.

How could that be?

He and Patricia had been married for just eight months.

Could it be...

A daring thought crossed his mind.

The doctor was confident,. "Yes, I'm one hundred percent sure. This is a full-term baby, not premature. But sSince she missed her first vaccinations,. wWe need to get those administered as soon as possible."

Martin's mind was a mess, like dozens of wires tangled up in disarray.

If the baby was full termhis and Patricia's child and was carried full term, tThen that must mean….

And certainly his and Patricia's own flesh and blood.

Then…

Could it meanWas that this baby was one of the twins Patricia had been pregnant with before?

If that was trueAnd if so, where was the other child?

Why had Patricia only brought back one?

Where was Patricia now?

A stream of questions flooded his thoughts.

"If it's a twin, is this weight normal?" Martin inquired.

Realization dawned on the doctor, "If it's twins, that explains everything!," the doctor said. "Her weight is around four pounds, which means she was under four pounds at birth!. Normally, babies aren't malnourished nowadays; the average birth weight for a single baby is around six pounds, although smaller and weaker babies can occur. But she doesn't appear to have characteristics of the latter. The twin explanation makes the most sense."

The doctor's words solidified Martin's suspicions in his mind.

But hadn't Patricia said that Hunter had attackedkilled the baby?

babies? How could the children have survived?

Hunter was ruthless. Why would he show mercy towards his Martin's own child?

Despite the myriad of questions and the urgency to find Patricia, Martin knew that the child's needs were the immediate priority.

"Can she get her vaccinations now?"

"YesSure!"."

Without hesitation, Martin made his decision, "Alright then, please arrange that for me."

The doctor was gearing up to fill out the paperwork and glanced at the empty space for the name. "What's the name of the child?"

"…??"

Martin paused, considering for a moment before decisively replying,, "Maria. Maria."

As flowers blossom on the distant shores, so the sun sets.

MartinHe hoped the child would embody the beauty and intelligence of her name, and be blessed with a life of peace and happiness.

The doctor nodded in understanding, finished the paperwork, and Martin proceeded with the routine, taking little Maria to get vaccinated.

She was such a good girl during the vaccination. While other children cried out loud from the pain, she merely pouted. with Her big, teary eyes, silently lookeding up at him without making a sound.

After administering the vaccine was administered and undergoing a half-hour observation period confirmeding she was fine, Martin was ready to take Maria home.

From start to finish, it had all beenhe was hands-on, seeking for Martin; he had sought no one else's help.

On their the way back, he made a call to Ryan and Carter.

The two rushed over immediately and were enchanted by the tiny bundle of joy, examining her as if she were a rare and precious animalthing they couldn't get enough of.

"Gosh, she's so beautiful. Have you ever seen such a gorgeous baby?" marveled one of them.

"She's so well-behaved, just looking at me so quietly. Is she a fallenn angel in disguise?"

"Boss, you gotta see this; she's smiling at me and Carter... Gosh, she's so sweet and adorable... I can't handle it; I'm going to steal her away and keep her for myself..."

Carter shot him a look to quiet him down. "Keep it down, will you? Don't startle her."

Ryan playfully tickled Maria's soft cheek with his long fingers, melting a little inside with every gentle touch.

"I can't help it. Randy was always crying, and fussing all night as a baby;. iIt left me with a sort of baby phobia. And nNow, Maria's gone and cured it! Haha..."

Martin came to the defense of his other child. "Randy was premature and also had a congenital heart condition," Martin retorted.. "Feeling unwellOf course, he naturally cried more than other kids, he—"

"Alright, alright, I get it." Ryan cut him off with aan exasperated gesture of exasperation. "Alright, alright, I get it. . "They're both your precious gems, and you can't stand to hear a bad word about them. I know it's a miracle Randy made it, and he's not really a crybaby. It's just that he wasn't feeling well. He's actually a very obedient kid,. He never hits, doesn't throw tantrums, and doesn't lose his temper easily."

Martin was momentarily speechless.

Carter shot Ryan a warning glance and decided to change the subject. "Boss, since you called us here—d, does this have something to do with Patricia? Thise baby being born means she must be alive."

Martin stopped banterguing with Ryan and nodded with a grave expression.

"Yes, Patricia must be alive. I need to find her."
