Chapter 117 Shameless Debbie

After Patricia entered the operating room, Martin left first, his concern for Randy paramount.

The remaining members of the Langley family gradually exited, leaving only the Thomas family outside the operating room.

Madam Thomas took a seat on the bench. Despite having witnessed numerous grand events, her body trembled slightly in the face of her grandson's life and death.

Greta clasped her hands together, closing her eyes in silent prayer for Bobby's safety.

Spencer sat quietly beside Greta, his gaze fixed on the operating room, anxiety etched on his face.

The wait felt unusually prolonged.

Amidst everyone's unease, the doors of the operating room finally opened.

Madam Thomas and Greta's eyes instantly brightened, and they stood up, walking over. Before they could pose any concerned questions, they witnessed Debbie angrily emerging from inside.

"Madam Thomas, Greta, what are you doing? Why did you let Patricia go in? Do you know that my rescue mission is at a critical moment, and she has disrupted all of my plans."

Upon hearing this, Madam Thomas's face suddenly turned dark, and a trace of coldness flickered in her eyes.

Greta's expression also turned unpleasant as she said, "We let Professor Watson go in hoping that she would help you."

Debbie, unaware of their unease, responded sharply, "Don't you trust me? Her so-called fame is all hype, without any real substance. She will only make things worse if she goes in. Don't you want your brother to recover?"

Seeing how serious she looked, Greta was once again confused, and the scales in her heart tipped towards her.

Madam Thomas, however, retained her composure as she coldly regarded Debbie.

She spoke without any expression, "I'm indifferent to whether she's genuine or not. All I want is for Bobby to emerge from the operating room safe and sound. I'm not concerned with any conflicts between you and her. It's irrelevant to the Thomas family. My grandson's life is not a pawn for you to vie for power."

From her words, Debbie vaguely sensed something suspicious.

"Madam Thomas, did Patricia say something to you? Please don't believe her. You have watched me grow up, and you know me best. Do you really believe her over me? By handing Bobby over to her, aren't you sentencing him to death?"

Seeing her sincere emotions, Madam Thomas's firm resolve began to waver.

Noticing her change, Debbie pressed on, "Madam Thomas, please trust me. I won't let anything happen to Bobby. Hurry and make Patricia come out. If she continues causing trouble, Bobby will really be beyond saving."

Madam Thomas hesitated and asked, "Are you telling the truth?"

Debbie immediately raised her hand and swore, "I swear to you, I will definitely return to you a healthy Bobby."

Based on the timeline, Patricia's rescue operation should be almost finished.

She deliberately waited inside for a while before coming out, precisely timing it with Patricia's surgery.

When she received Madam Thomas's command to remove Patricia from the operating table, Bobby had already been saved by Patricia.

At that moment, she could naturally claim credit for it, not only gaining fame but also firmly grasping onto the Thomas family as her support.

Madam Thomas firmly grasped her hand and warned sternly, "Let me tell you, Bobby is my life. If anything happens to him, I will never let you get away with it. Do you understand?"

After all, Madam Thomas had watched Debbie grow up, so between the two parties' interests, she naturally believed her more.

Debbie nodded confidently, promising, "Please rest assured, I am absolutely confident that I won't let anything happen to Bobby."

Seeing her determination, Madam Thomas finally relaxed and said, "Alright, then I'll leave Bobby in your hands. You must give me a healthy grandchild in return."

"Okay! I'll continue the rescue inside, you just wait here!" After comforting Madam Thomas, Debbie confidently entered the operating room.

Spencer frowned with worry and said, "Grandma, do you really trust her?" For some reason, he had a strange feeling inside. He had a sense that something was off, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Madam Thomas narrowed her dangerous eyes and coldly replied, "I've already warned her. Since she dares to take over, it proves that she's indeed confident. Let's watch for now, and if anything happens, we can bring Patricia in."

Spencer, feeling dissatisfied, furrowed his brows. He strongly disagreed with the approach of doing nothing when there might be trouble. However, as a subordinate, he had to suppress his discontent, no matter how much it bothered him.

After approximately fifteen minutes, the door of the operating room opened. Patricia emerged with a fatigued expression. Madam Thomas and Greta regarded her indifferently, as if someone else had pleaded with her to save a life.

With no action from them, Spencer stood up and approached. "Professor Watson, thank you. How is my cousin? Is he okay?"

Patricia shook her head. "The bleeding has been successfully stopped. He's currently not in any life-threatening danger." But just for now. If Debbie mishandles things or uses the wrong medications, there could still be a risk to his life. However, she refrained from uttering these words, as they appeared intentionally provocative.

Spencer expressed his gratitude enthusiastically, "Thank you, thank you..."

Patricia smiled and patted his head.

She glanced at Madam Thomas and Greta from the corner of her eye, seeing them sitting silently as if they had nothing to say. She decided not to linger any longer and left, supporting her weary body.

Spencer looked displeased at Madam Thomas and Greta.

"Grandma, cousin, how can you burn the bridges after crossing the river? Professor Watson helped us, so at the very least, we should say thank you."

Greta pouted. "Didn't you thank her on our behalf? Besides, she only went in for a short while, what could she possibly do? I think it was Debbie who had already stopped the bleeding, and all she did was take a look."

"......??"

Madam Thomas echoed, "Your cousin is right! She didn't do much when she went in for less than an hour. So Professor Brown is the one who saved your cousin's life, not her. We shouldn't have asked her for help in the first place, making her a laughingstock for no reason."

"......?"

Spencer was so angry that he almost choked on his own blood. "Grandma, cousin, you can't be like this... No matter who ultimately saved Bobby, at least Professor Watson helped, so we should say thank you."

But Madam Thomas couldn't stand it anymore and said unhappily, "Enough, stop talking."

Spencer didn't dare to challenge Madam Thomas's authority and reluctantly closed his mouth.

An hour later, the operating room door opened. Bobby was pushed out, pale-faced. Debbie came out with him.

Madam Thomas hurried over to ask about the situation, "Is Bobby okay? Nothing happened to him, right?"

Debbie signaled to the nurse, and the nurse pushed Bobby away.

She took off her mask, pretending to relax, and said to Madam Thomas, "Bobby is safe now. He will be observed in the ICU for three days, and if nothing unexpected happens, he can be transferred to a regular ward."

Upon hearing her words, Madam Thomas and Greta's suspended hearts finally fell.

Debbie deliberately put on an angry face and said, "Madam Thomas, you don't even know that Patricia almost caused a medical accident while rescuing Bobby just now. Luckily, I went in again, otherwise you probably wouldn't have seen Bobby by now."

Upon hearing this, Madam Thomas's heart rose to her throat. "What happened?"

Debbie concealed her satisfaction and said solemnly, "Patricia didn't understand Bobby's condition and acted recklessly on the operating table. It almost led to a serious medical incident. In the future, stay away from her and don't trust her words. She is young and inexperienced in surgery, making her prone to accidents."

Madam Thomas and Greta were stunned by her intimidation.

Madam Thomas patted her chest in fear, "Thank goodness, thank goodness nothing happened! Otherwise, I won't let her off! Debbie, thanks to you this time, otherwise I really don't know what to do."

Debbie smiled and patted her hand, "Grandma, Bobby is my little brother too. Naturally, I will do my best! You're old and not in good health, so go back and rest. I will contact you if there's any update."

Madam Thomas was still worried and shook her head, "No, I'll go back to the ward and rest for a bit! I want to stay here and watch, otherwise I won't be at ease."

"Alright!" Debbie nodded and had Greta assist Madam Thomas back to the ward.

Watching them leave, Debbie couldn't suppress the smile on her face, her eyes filled with the satisfaction of a successful plan.

The surgery was finally over.

If Patricia hadn't helped, Bobby might have bled to death on the operating table by now.

Ha!

This time, Debbie could finally gain fame and overshadow Patricia.

Due to her excessive satisfaction, she didn't notice Spencer, who had been staring at her all along---
