Chapter 724 Retribution
Hunter groaned, his handsome face contorted in pain, sweat dripping down his forehead.
Rock said calmly, "Hang in there! I don't know where the tracker is, so I have to check one spot at a time. It's gonna hurt."
Hunter was confused.
One spot at a time?
How's that different from bleeding out, piece by piece?
Rock cut open one spot and found nothing, then moved to another.
Blood gushed out like a faucet.
Hunter was in so much pain he nearly bit through his teeth.
It was unbearable!
It felt like someone was ripping his soul out.
'Damn Martin,' he thought, 'He actually put a tracker in me.'
Rock kept cutting, wiping away the blood as he searched.
Hunter was trembling all over. After two spots, he couldn't take it anymore and asked, voice shaking, "Anesthetic, do you have any anesthetic?"
He really couldn't take it.
He'd rather die.
Rock shook his head, "This is a temporary kit. Anesthetics are hard to get! We're in Koch's territory. To avoid attention, I only brought pain meds, anti-inflammatories, and blood circulation stuff."
Hunter was on the verge of total derangement.
It felt like countless ants were biting his heart.
It was excruciating.
He wanted to scream and let out all his frustration.
But he couldn't make any noise, so he used his good hand to cover his mouth, stopping his screams.
He cursed inwardly, 'Damn Martin. I had to make him pay for it.'
Watching someone cut you open and search inside, it was worse than death by a thousand cuts.
And this pain was Martin's gift.
Hunter swore to kill Martin.
Rock searched three spots but still hadn't found the tracker. Blood kept flowing, and Hunter's face grew paler due to blood loss.
If he kept doing, Hunter would pass out.
"No, I can't find it! Could the information be wrong?"
Hunter gritted his teeth, "It can't be wrong! Martin is cunning. The fact that you two rescued me from the heavily guarded Koch family means he was behind it."
After a deep breath, he continued, "And yesterday, after eating the food served by the Koch family's servant, I truly slept for a long time!"
At the time, Hunter thought he was just tired.
When he woke up, his arm hurt a lot.
It appeared now he'd been drugged.
It was all for installing the tracker.
Hunter had been careless.
Rock asked in puzzle, "Why didn't the surveillance catch it?"
Hunter guessed, "Martin's son is a computer genius. He must have tampered with it."
Rock understood.
Looking at the bleeding wound, he said firmly, "If we keep searching, we won't find the tracker, and you'll pass out for blood loss."
Hunter, unwilling to give up, asked, "Is there any other way?"
He gripped Rock's shoulder tightly with his good hand.
"I can't lose to Martin, absolutely not."
Death wasn't scary.
Losing to a romantic rival was terrifying.
Hunter could lose to anyone, but he absolutely couldn't lose to Martin.
Rock hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth, "There's only one way!"
Hunter asked, "What is the way?"
Rock looked at his wound, his eyes darkening, "We have to cut off the entire piece of flesh from that spot and then cauterize it to stop the bleeding."
"Cut off the entire piece of flesh?"
Hunter's voice trembled with every word.
Rock nodded, "Yes. It's the method I used mostly on missions. It's the fastest, safest, and best option we have right now. It'll hurt a lot, and most people can't endure it."
Hunter's heart was racing when thinking about cutting off an entire piece of flesh while fully conscious.
His body shook uncontrollably with goose bumps.
Rock pressed down on his shoulder and said in a deep voice, "Decide quickly. We don't have time. If they follow the tracker and find us, all our previous efforts will waste."
Hunter gritted his teeth, struggled internally for a moment, and then decisively said, "Alright! I trust you!"
Rock nodded, found a rope, and tied it above Hunter's arm wound. He then carefully disinfected the small knife with alcohol.
Watching the clear liquid slide off the sharp blade and drip onto the ground, Hunter's body trembled even more.
Sensing Hunter's fear, Rock said, "If you're scared, you can close your eyes."
Hunter shook his head firmly, "The fear of the unknown is even more terrifying!"
Rock added, "I'll minimize your pain as much as possible."
Hunter said nothing more, tightly pressing his lips together.
Once the knife was disinfected, Rock swiftly made his move. A silver flash passed before Hunter's eyes, and by the time he realized it, a large piece of flesh had already been cut from his wound.
Blood gushed out like a opened floodgate.
A strong smell of blood filled the room.
The pain took a few seconds to pass to his brain.
Time seemed to stand still.
Hunter was stunned for a moment, and then a wave of excruciating pain swept over him.
"Ow......" He could no longer hold back and screamed out loud.
If he could, he really wished he could pass out.
But damn it!
Despite the intense pain, Hunter didn't fall in a faint.
As the flesh was cut away, the blood flowed even more fiercely.
In just a moment, Hunter's clothes were soaked in blood.
Rock had no time to check on Hunter's condition. He grabbed a bottle of alcohol from the medical kit and poured it directly onto the wound.
The alcohol seeped into the flesh through the wound.
Hunter was in so much pain that his eyes started to roll back.
For the first time, he understood what it meant to wish to die.
At this moment, he really thought it would be better to die.
Rock somehow found a thick piece of iron wire, soaked it in alcohol, and set it on fire. Once the tip was red-hot, he skillfully pressed it onto the bleeding point.
The bleeding point emitted a wisp of black smoke.
The smell of burning flesh filled the air.
Hunter was in so much pain that he couldn't catch his breath. He felt faint and he felt like he was walking on clouds, dizzy and disoriented.
"No, I can't take it anymore. I can't take it anymore. It hurts so much."
Rock remained very calm, "Hold on a little longer, it's almost done! Look, this bleeding point has already been stopped!"
As he spoke, he heated the iron wire again and cauterized another bleeding point.
Hunter bit his lip tightly, groaned, and his entire body was drenched in sweat. He glanced at the wound, his head swayed weakly, and finally, he couldn't hold on any longer. He closed his eyes and completely passed out.
