Chapter 18 Charles Speaks Up For Mommy

When he saw that she had indeed made a statement, Charles jumped up excitedly. Fannie was also excited. "Mommy is so smart! That wicked woman actually made a statement."

Charles felt proud to have such a smart mommy. "Of course, if mommy wasn't smart, how could she have given birth to such a clever son like me?"

To their surprise, it wasn't just Debbie; several colleagues from the hospital also voiced their support for her.

An account verified as Susie, a cardiologist, wrote, "Professor. Brown is a very serious and responsible professor. We have worked together for several years, and I can assure everyone that what she says is the truth."

Even Gladys said, "My teacher is better than Professor. Watson in both character and medical skills. She shouldn't have to endure this humiliation."

David, a cardiologist, said, "Professor. Brown is kind. I hope everyone won't misunderstand her."

Charles narrowed his eyes dangerously, his expression devoid of emotions. "Since you took the initiative to speak up, then I won't be polite towards you."

After saying that, his slender fingers skillfully began to move on the keyboard. In no time, this statement soared to the top of the hot search rankings.

Once again, Charles used paid posters to make Debbie feel as if her scheme had succeeded. But before he could feel happy with how well the plan was going, his computer suddenly sounded an alarm.

Fannie's breath hitched, and she anxiously asked, "Charles, what's wrong? Nothing bad happened, right?"

Charles furrowed his attractive brows tightly, feeling annoyed. "That damn father, he is so annoying, constantly causing trouble and trying to break through my defenses, disrupting my progress. I can't stand him."

Nervously, Fannie asked, "What should we do? It'll be troublesome if our damn father finds us."

A mischievous glint flashed in Charles' eyes as he coldly snorted. "He wants to track my whereabouts? Dream on!"

As soon as he finished speaking, his fingers tapped a few times on the keyboard, turning the computer screen blue with big letters frantically scrolling across it.

But his father’s side didn't give up, and so began the competition. Both sides began to compete. The atmosphere became heated.

After watching for a while, Fannie couldn't understand anymore and her eyelids started to
feel heavy. Before long, she fell asleep, her head resting on the table. Charles, noticing his sleeping sister, called for Jade to come and carry her away, then he continued his battle.

Luke struggled and almost got his whereabouts traced by the other party. Fortunately, he managed to intercept them at the last moment. Nonetheless, Luke still obtained a small amount of information.

"Mr. Langley, although I couldn't track his exact location through his IP, I can confirm that he is currently in the southern part of the city, on Kingsley Road," Luke reported.

"Kingsley Road?" Martin, searched his mind, but couldn't find any useful information. "Continue, you must locate him for me."

The confrontation between masters often brings excitement. However, this time, Luke felt like crying. He realized that he was no match for ‘C’; he was just too powerful. But since his boss gave the order, he had no choice but to soldier on.

Martin stood up and walked behind another programmer, staring at the unmovable trending topics hanging on the wall. His face looked so gloomy.

"The trending topics still can't come down?" he asked.

The programmer wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Sir, I'm sorry, I've done my best."

Alan, afraid that Martin would vent his anger on the programmer, quickly interjected, "This matter has nothing to do with them. The technical staff on the website side also can't take down the trending topics."

Martin pursed his thin lips into a straight line, tightening his handsome brows. Who exactly was ‘C’? Perhaps, Martin had a rogue thought, he could be brought into the Langley Group.

This confrontation continued until the next morning. Luke couldn't crack Charles' computer, so the three trending topics about Patricia remained on the site for the entire night. The matter drew a lot of attention and became widely known.

As usual, Martin delivered breakfast to Randy on time. Perhaps feeling guilty towards Patricia, he also brought her a portion. Patricia sat down and had breakfast with Randy. Martin hesitated for a moment but couldn't help asking with concern.

"I heard about the trending topics. Are you alright?"

Patricia shook her head as her response. Thinking that she might not be in a good mood, Martin immediately tried to reassure her.

"Don't worry, I've already arranged for someone to handle it. We'll take down the trending topics as soon as possible."

Patricia finally reacted to his words. "I beg you, please stop meddling in my affairs. If you have this time, you'd better spend it with your fiancée. If it weren't for you, this wouldn't have happened."

"What does this have to do with me?" Martin felt wronged.

Without even looking at him, Patricia said, "Anyone with eyes can see that Debbie is behind this. Don't tell me you don't know?"

Her attitude made Martin angry. "Alan has investigated, and the video didn't originate from her IP address. I know you have issues with her, but you can't simply accuse her without evidence."

Seeing him unconditionally defending Debbie, Patricia's anger flared up. After losing the strength to argue with him, Martin was infuriated by Patricia's cold treatment once again. Randy, who was at the dining table, noticed the tension between Patricia and Martin, even without any words being spoken.

Just then, Debbie arrived with a beaming smile on her face, as if nothing had happened. She walked up to Randy affectionately, wanting to pat his little head, and asked, "Randy, Auntie is here to see you. How have you been feeling these past few days? Is your health improving?"

Unexpectedly, before Debbie could even touch Randy, he slapped her hand away and said, "Don't touch me, you wicked woman!"

Rubbing her sore hand, Debbie asked with a sense of grievance, "Randy, why would you say such things about me? What did Auntie do wrong? She's always cared for you from the beginning."

Randy shouted, "You bullied my mommy, you're a bad woman!"

Feeling extremely wronged, tears welled up in Debbie's eyes as she discreetly glanced at Martin. "Randy, Auntie has always been so good to you. How could you treat me like this? Did your mommy say something to you that made you misunderstand me?"

Patricia rolled her eyes in silence, exasperated by Debbie's attempt to drive a wedge between them. Meanwhile, Martin, with his deep and piercing eyes, tightly grasped Patricia's hand.

"Patricia, how could you say such things in front of our child? We shouldn't involve our adult grudges with our child."

Patricia, who was already accustomed to Martin's favoritism, didn't even have the desire to defend herself. She straightforwardly replied, "If you care so much for her, then keep her locked up at home and don't flaunt her in front of me. Otherwise, one day I will kill her."

Neither Martin, nor Debbie, expected Patricia to be so blunt, openly displaying her animosity towards Debbie. Debbie, feeling wronged, started crying.

"Patricia, I know you still hold a grudge from five years ago, but that's all in the past. Besides, Martin has always loved me. Your marriage to him was just an accident. I don't want us to turn against each other because of a man.”

“If you really love Martin so much, I can step aside. I just beg you not to hate me."
