Chapter 1267 Truly Angry
Stella was frustrated and called Randy again, but all she got was a robotic female voice. "Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Feeling dejected, Stella returned to the Reed Villa.
She felt like a lost child, sitting on the living room couch, staring blankly ahead. She had no idea what to do next, and the future seemed dark and uncertain.
Carol and Maximilian were originally scheduled to return tomorrow.
Seeing Stella's unusual behavior, they hurried back on a private jet after Stella took a commercial flight home.
By the time they arrived, it was already daylight.
When they saw Stella sitting on the living room couch, they were shocked.
Carol rushed over and asked the butler who had been by Stella's side, "What's going on? Why is Stella here? Did she sit here all night?"
The butler nodded, then shook his head, explaining, "Ms. Reed came back at six in the morning. She's been sitting here ever since! I tried to persuade her several times, but she wouldn't go to her room to sleep or have breakfast. She hasn't said a word."
Stella's behavior over the past two days had been extremely unusual.
When asked if she had argued with her boyfriend, she denied it.
But her actions suggested otherwise.
Carol and Maximilian exchanged a glance.
Carol sat next to Stella, while Maximilian took a seat on the nearby couch.
Maximilian didn't say anything, just quietly sat there with them.
Carol held Stella's hand, her heart aching, "Stella, what's going on? You flew back without saying a word! You didn't even let us know in advance."
Hearing her voice, Stella's vacant eyes slowly began to focus. "Mom, do you know where Randy is staying in Country Y?"
Carol was surprised, "Randy went to Country Y? I thought he went back to Country D!"
Stella tilted her head, puzzled, "You don't know?"
Carol shook her head, "I don't know! Patricia only said Randy took an early flight. We all assumed he went back to Country D!"
Randy had been staying in Country D for a while.
They had all come to see Country D as Randy's second home, so when they heard he had taken a flight, they naturally thought he was returning there.
Who would have thought he went to Country Y instead?
"Why did Randy go to Country Y? Is there something urgent he needs to handle there?" Carol asked.
With that, Stella realized Carol truly didn't know anything.
It seemed Randy's trip to Country Y was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and he hadn't told anyone.
Carol noticed Stella had been mentioning Randy frequently lately, which seemed odd. She couldn't help but ask tentatively, "Did you and Randy have a fight?"
Stella stiffened, not admitting it but not denying it either, answering Carol with silence.
Carol, having been through similar experiences, immediately knew she was right.
Without hesitation, she concluded, "You must have been too stubborn and upset Randy! Randy usually treats you so well, even better than your dad and I do! If you hadn't been unreasonable and crossed his line, he wouldn't be mad at you."
She knew Stella too well.
Spoiled by her parents, Stella had a typical stubborn streak.
They had seen how Randy treated Stella.
He was gentle, patient, and considerate, almost treating her like his own daughter.
If there was a conflict, it was definitely Stella's fault.
Sure enough, normally strong-willed and unwilling to admit defeat, Stella didn't say a word after hearing Carol's comment, sitting quietly beside her.
Carol finally understood what had been bothering Stella these past two days.
She pressed her throbbing temples and said, "I'm telling you, you really need to change your stubborn attitude sometimes. Randy has a good temper, which is why he keeps indulging you! But everyone has their limits, and one day, he might not be able to take it anymore! People should be considerate of each other; no one is obligated to be good to someone else! Even your dad and I sometimes can't stand you, let alone Randy!"
Stella knew she was a bit stubborn.
But she had always been clear about her feelings and never unreasonable.
This time, it was clearly Randy's fault, yet it seemed like she was the one in the wrong.
Even Carol was defending him and blaming her.
Stella's anger quickly flared up.
'Fine, if he wants to leave, let him leave! It isn't a big deal!' She thought.
He had broken his promise first.
He had promised to accompany her back to Country D after Charles's wedding, but then suddenly agreed to go on tour in Country Y. He was supposed to leave the day after the wedding, but he left on the first day.
He didn't care about her at all, which was why he left so easily.
And the worst part was, he hung up on her.
She had been just a little upset before, but now she was genuinely angry.
If he didn't want to talk, then fine, they wouldn't talk.
Stella suddenly stood up, storming upstairs.
Carol hurried after her, "Where are you going?"
Stella pouted, "Going upstairs to sleep! He's mad at me, ignoring me, and I'm mad at him too! If he doesn't want to talk, then I don't care! I still have Charles and other cousins."
With that, she stormed upstairs.
Carol was puzzled.
Maximilian was puzzled too.
Carol was dumbfounded, "Is she really angry?"
Maximilian tried to suppress his laughter, shaking his head helplessly, "Randy's in trouble this time! Looks like they'll be at odds for a while."
Carol sighed deeply, "She's twenty years old and still hasn't grown up! Her stubbornness hasn't changed a bit."
Maximilian walked over, putting his arm around her shoulder, smiling, "Let her be! At her age, she should be carefree! As long as she's honest and doesn't cross any lines, it's fine! A bit of temper is good! She won't be easily bullied when she gets married."
Carol's eyes widened at his words. "My daughter, who dares to bully her? Even if she makes a huge mistake, only I can scold her, no one else."
Maximilian was speechless, "See, she's just like you! How can you call her stubborn?"
Carol proudly raised her chin. "She's my daughter, of course she's like me!"
Stella returned to her room, closed the door, and shut out Carol and Maximilian's conversation.
