Chapter 1263 Separate for a Period of Time

Stella wanted nothing more than to escape this awkward situation.

It would be best if they all went down together, no one left standing.

This was so embarrassing!

It was all Randy's fault!

Everything was his fault; he was the main culprit.

Just then, Carol walked in and overheard that Stella had lost over a million dollars. Her jaw dropped in shock. "Stella, how much were you guys playing for? How did you lose so much? It's fine to play cards, but don't go overboard!"

Stella looked at Carol with teary eyes, then hugged her waist and cried into her arms. "Mom, my luck was terrible! A thousand dollars per game, and I lost over a million dollars. I was the only one losing, and they were all winning! The whole night, I didn't win a single hand! It's so unfair!"

Carol was stunned by what she heard. "A thousand dollars per game, and you lost over a million dollars?"

"Yes! A thousand dollars per game, and I lost over a million dollars. I'm done with the bridge forever."

Seeing her cry, Carol felt both amused and heartbroken. She gently patted Stella's head. "I misunderstood you, and I'm sorry! It's okay, if today didn't go well, we'll get them next time! No one's luck is bad forever!"

Stella felt wronged.

She had been upset for so long, and Randy hadn't come to comfort her.

Losing money was one thing.

But Randy not coming to console her was what really made her feel down and wronged.

"I'm never playing again, never."

Carol couldn't help but laugh.

She had never seen anyone cry over a game of bridge.

Maximilian, understanding the situation, couldn't help but laugh too, his shoulders shaking. He patted her head and said, "Alright, don't be sad! I'll cover your losses! It's getting late, and the elders can't stay up all night. We need to head back to the hotel!"

Randy volunteered. "I'll drive you guys back!"

Maximilian smiled, "No need! We've been busy with Charles's wedding and haven't had time to look after Stella. You've been with her all this time! Now that things are settled, we'll head back ourselves. Your dad just gave me a set of car keys, so we're good."

"I haven't really been with her much; she's been on her own at the hotel! But," Randy hesitated for a moment, then quickly agreed.

"But since you say so, I'll get some rest tonight too! Uncle Maximilian, Aunt Carol, Grandpa, drive safely! Let us know when you get there!"

Stella couldn't believe he agreed so easily.

He didn't even think about driving her back and comforting her.

She was so angry and had lost so much money.

He didn't comfort her at all.

Thinking about this, Stella couldn't hold back her tears and cried even harder. She suddenly stood up, not saying a word, and stormed out.

Randy was a bit confused.

Carol apologized, "Stella is really upset! We'll head out now! See you in the morning!"

Charles didn't seem to mind, "It's okay! If it were me, I'd be too angry to sleep! Go after her quickly! It's dangerous for her to be out alone on this hillside."

"We'll be going then!" Carol quickly said her goodbyes and chased after Stella.

Maximilian and Kaleb followed suit.

After the Reed family left, Riley also took the Koch family and left.

Patricia saw Fannie still happily counting her winnings and knocked her on the forehead. "You! Couldn't you have gone easy on Stella? Look, you made her cry."

Fannie looked innocent, "I did go easy on her! She was just having the worst luck tonight. After one game, I checked her hand, and wow! We had a grand slam, and she didn't even have a decent set of cards, just a bunch of random ones! With cards like that, unless she didn't play, there was no way she wouldn't lose."

Maria, for once, spoke up in Fannie's defense. "This time, I'm with Fannie. It's not her fault she won! Stella's luck was just terrible tonight! It's all Randy's fault for making her upset. She was playing carelessly at first, and by the time she wanted to play seriously, it was too late.

Fannie was already going easy on her, not calling grand slams several times to let her score, but she just had bad cards!"

Patricia's nerves were on edge. "What was wrong with her today? She was fine during the day."

Fannie didn't hesitate to point at Randy. "Ask Randy, he must have upset her! I saw it earlier. Every time Randy got close, she moved away! She was playing cards to spite him at first, that's why she played so badly."

Everyone's eyes turned to Randy.

Randy's mouth twitched. "I have some things to do, I'll head upstairs! You all should rest early too! We've been busy for days, everyone must be tired!"

Without waiting for a response, he quickly went upstairs, trying to act calm.

In the hotel, Stella didn't go to sleep after returning to her room. She took a shower and lay on the bed, waiting for Randy's call.

If he called to comfort her, she would forgive him and stop being mad.

Meanwhile, Randy also took a shower and lay on his bed, his phone on his chest. His long fingers tapped the screen, his eyes staring at the ceiling.

Stella was mad at him.

Should he call to comfort her?

Or ask what he did wrong so he could fix it?

This silent treatment left him clueless on how to handle it.

Randy hesitated for a moment, then picked up his phone, found Stella's number, and hesitated for a long time before sighing and turning off the screen, placing the phone on the nightstand.

If she was mad, let her be mad.

Maybe this way, she wouldn't want to join him on the tour, and he could use the time to clear his head.

Maybe his feelings for Stella were just a result of them being together all the time.

A break might help him distance himself from this complicated relationship.

With that thought, Randy turned on his side and forced himself to close his eyes.

Time ticked by.

After a while, Randy suddenly opened his eyes, grabbed his phone from the nightstand, and shoved it into the drawer, thinking that this would help him stay firm.

While he struggled with his thoughts, he had no idea that Stella, waiting for his call, barely slept all night.
